Bayer's anti-cholesterol agent - lipobai(cerivastatin) - in the United States alone, it caused 52 deaths and 1,100 cases of serious muscle damage. In addition, the drug contributed to impaired renal function. The French Sanitary Safety Agency has registered 20 cases of serious health hazards in people who combine two different medicines cholesterol-lowering drugs: cerivastatin and gemfibrozil. In total, this combination was used by about 6 million people in the world.
Thalidomide- the infamous sedative given to pregnant women as a sleep-improving drug - has caused developmental disorders (mainly limb underdevelopment, deafness, blindness, and cleft palate) in more than 10,000 children.
It has now been established that thalidomide lowers the level of tumor necrosis factor alpha (a biologically active substance that increases inflammation) in the body, and therefore this drug is (not without success) used in the treatment of leprosy (leprosy). Bayer has withdrawn its drug Lipobay from the market precisely in connection with the identified serious side effects.

Every year, the world spends 1 billion dollars on unnecessary medicines. Many of these drugs are useless and some are potentially dangerous. Others only slightly help the body cope with the disease on its own.

Now, more than ever, the phrase “To get sick is expensive today” is extremely relevant. Indeed, going to the pharmacy for conventional means from a headache, which once cost 2-3 rubles, now, God forbid, they will ask for 30, and sometimes even 50 rubles.
