Sergey Belov was elected by the deputies of the City Duma of the VI convocation to the post of the head of the administration of Nizhny Novgorod. This became known during a meeting of the City Duma on December 23.
30 out of 47 deputies voted for Belov. For Anton Averin - 17, no one voted for Sergei Mironov.
Recall that the competition for the post of head of the administration of the regional center on December 18. Of the 13 applicants, the members of the competition commission chose five candidates:
ex-deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Anton Averin (5 votes),
the head of the administration of the Prioksky district, Sergei Belov (10 votes).
Yury Garanin, General Director of MKU "GUMMID" (6 votes),
Deputy Head of Administration Sergei Mironov (5 votes),
Vladimir Soldatenkov, head of the administration of the Avtozavodsky district (10 votes).

By the beginning of voting, three people remained on the list of candidates for the post of city manager, Vladimir Soldatenkov, who decided to “focus on managing the fourth part of the city - the Avtozavodsky district,” and Yuri Garanin, who also preferred the main job, withdrew their candidacies.

It should be noted that during the course, the deputy of the City Duma, the head of the NRO "Fair Russia" Alexander Bochkarev urged to vote for Anton Averin and stressed that the faction of Right-wing Russians would vote in a consolidated manner, - this was also confirmed by deputy Alexander Razumovsky, deputy head of the faction. However, the ex-head of the city, Oleg Sorokin, strongly opposed Averin's candidacy.
Recall also that the duties of the head of administration from July 22, 2015 until now have been performed by Andrey Chertkov, who received only one vote in the competition.

The deputies of the City Duma have finally chosen a new city manager of Nizhny Novgorod. They became the head of the Prioksky district Sergey Belov. The majority voted for him - 30 people, the remaining 17 supported an individual entrepreneur, the former deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Anton Averin, but no one voted for the deputy head of the administration of Nizhny Novgorod Sergey Mironov. The head of Nizhny Novgorod, Ivan Karnilin, apparently, was satisfied with the choice of deputies: - Sergei Belov is a serious, thoughtful person, he will be engaged in urban management. I wish you success, the doors of the City Duma are open. The new city manager himself thanked the deputies for their trust and stressed that he had come to work for the good of the city. - Transport, roads - we will solve all problems, - Belov promised. - There will be personnel changes.

Recall that the election of the head of the city administration was held on the second attempt. Initially, the procedure was to take place on November 3rd. But the competition, in which 19 people applied, was canceled due to claims from the prosecutor's office. In the newly opened competition, 28 people already applied for a place. However, only 13 applicants reached the consideration of the commission. They presented the programs that they are going to implement as head of the administration.
