Charitable Foundation of Chulpan Khamatova and Dina Korzun: everyone can help! Chulpan Khamatova: gives life

On June 12, the traditional presentation of State Prizes took place in the Kremlin. President Vladimir Putin awarded the laureates and noted their merits.
Chulpan Khamatova, People's Artist of Russia, co-founder of the Podari Zhizn Foundation, received an award “for her contribution to the development of domestic theater and cinema art”. She immediately transferred her award of 5 million rubles to seriously ill children.

The head of state highly appreciated the creative and charitable activities of Chulpan Khamatova:

“The creativity and charitable projects of Chulpan Nailevna Khamatova received wide public recognition. One of the brightest, subtle, highly gifted actresses, she is in demand both in the theater and in the cinema.

But many appreciate and love Chulpan not only for her roles, multifaceted and brilliant, but also for her charitable work. Founded by her and actress Dina Korzun, the Gift of Life Foundation won the absolute trust of society. His work is disinterested and extremely transparent. And this makes it possible to attract significant financial resources here in order to fight for the lives of children.

Thank you very much for this work,” Vladimir Putin said.

According to Chulpan, helping seriously ill children, she receives such an avalanche of warmth, kindness, love that she then lives for a very long time.

For me, this award is another great opportunity to help children with cancer - the wards of the Podari Zhizn Foundation. Without any doubt, I donate these 5 million rubles to the fund for the purchase of special medical equipment for the Pediatric Hematology Center named after. Dmitry Rogachev, thanks to which children will be able to undergo a high-quality rehabilitation course after complex and difficult treatment.

Why did you start doing charity work?

My whole history in charity began with a meeting with doctors. I saw extraordinary people, sensitive doctors with unpetrified hearts, and I realized that they needed help. If there are such fireflies on this planet that are fighting for the lives of children, then I have no right to leave them alone in this struggle. I saw how volunteers work, these people with big, kind hearts. I was struck by their dedication. And, of course, I met the children. It is a separate happiness for me to come to them, play, chat ...

Our first action was a charity concert "Give Life", which took place on Children's Day on June 1, 2005 at the Sovremennik Theater. This concert brought together artists, volunteers, philanthropists. And then action after action began. It became clear that it was necessary to create a fund, to somehow systematize assistance.

How has your work with the foundation changed you?

I became more open. My ability to communicate has grown. Previously, I mainly communicated only with people of the theater and cinema, and the most interesting topic for me was the discussion of the drawing of the role. Now amazing children and their parents, doctors and nurses, volunteers are constantly next to me, and these are people of various professions and social strata.

After getting to know the children who are treated in our hospitals and entering the special world of their childhood, where life and death, joy and suffering, pain and despair are perceived in all their sharpness and uncompromisingness, I learned a lot myself and understood a lot. She became absolutely immune to philistine conversations, “problems” that are not. I learned to distinguish what is nonsense and stupidity, insignificant fuss, banal egoism, and what is really important and urgent.

-What does this activity give you personally?

I'm probably selfish and just enjoy it. Some incredible pleasure from the fact that I see children who are being treated and discharged, I see their eyes. It lifts my spirits when I see the spirits lift in the parents of children who know that they are not left alone with grief. They look so that neither fame, nor ratings, nor all this tinsel associated with the concept of "popular artist" is needed. And that makes me happy.

It gives me a lot of love. We live in a time when the concept of "love" is devalued. Every person feels the lack of love, tenderness, warmth. I, as a happy person, receive such an avalanche of warmth, kindness, love, that then I live for a very long time. In addition, I live with a sense of belonging to changing reality in the truest sense of the word. And this is also a wonderful feeling that productively, positively, constructively moves me forward. I really believe in God. I understand why I live on this earth. I have a point of application of forces, I am a happy person.

Why do people start doing charity work?

Each has its own preconditions. Someone simply cannot but feel someone else's pain and someone else's grief. And all the impulses of the outstretched hand and goodness occur in him unconsciously. There are people who are afraid of God and want to change their lives. There are people who need weight in society. Maybe they do not feel someone else's pain, but they exist in society and it is important for them to look good in it. I am very glad that social responsibility of companies and individuals is developing in Russia, and many people believe that they should do charity work, because it has a positive effect on their reputation.

What do you need to do to start helping?

And you look into the eyes of these children, their mothers and doctors, to understand that something needs to be done. It's obvious and all. I am very glad that there are people who only have to hint about the problem, and they are already running to the hospital, coming up with something, connecting friends. They are very different, these people. There are those among them who have serious capital. And there are very poor people who are also ready to help. And they carry one hundred, some a thousand rubles, come up after the performances and hand over the money in envelopes that simply say “Children”. But the main thing in helping is sincerity, disinterestedness, because this is something eternal and unshakable.

Non-state charitable foundation Chulpan Khamatova and Dina Korzun "Give Life" appeared in 2007. This is an association of people who, long before the foundation was founded, helped children as volunteers to cope with their serious illness. Back then, charity was not as common as it is now. Unfortunately, many people are used to turning a blind eye to someone else's misfortune. “Children are the flowers of life, and they can be helped,” the actresses and Chulpan Khamatova firmly know.

"Give Life" does not have any branches and representative offices in the regions of Russia. This is an initiative group and donors that have been providing assistance to children with oncological and hematological diseases for many years in a row.

Podari Zhizn also has two partner funds outside our country - in the UK and the USA.

Creation of a fund

In 2005, the actress Chulpan Khamatova, after talking with pediatric oncologists and hematologists in Moscow, saw the deplorable state of the hospitals then. Doctors asked her to hold a charity concert, the proceeds of which were supposed to go to expensive medical equipment. Teaming up with Dina Korzun, Chulpan held two charity concerts. The second concert was held at the Sovremennik Theatre, and famous musicians and artists were involved in it. This concert helped Chulpan Khamatova raise 300 thousand dollars for the treatment of sick children. The following year, another charity concert was held, organized by Dina Korzun and Chulpan Khamatova. The Podari Zhizn Foundation was organized shortly thereafter. And now concerts called "Give Life" with the participation of a variety of talented pop stars are held in Moscow every year.

Everyone can help

The actress is sure that everyone can help sick children! You don't need to have a lot of money to do this. For example, you can donate blood regularly, or you can become a volunteer, come to the hospital to play with children, help them, write letters of support, and also help parents as a courier... There are many options - there would be a desire.

It is impossible not to change when dealing with sick children and their problems every day. It becomes obvious what is really important in life, and what should not be paid attention to. “I am happy that I met selfless, unusually kind people - volunteers,” Chulpan Khamatova admits.

The charitable foundation has existed for about ten years, and the patients themselves maintain a warm atmosphere in it throughout the entire time. After all, even sick children, in fact, remain the same children! They play, draw, make some progress. When children recover, this also brings great joy. When you learn about the successes of your pupils, it cannot but rejoice. Some recovered children, growing up, come to the hospital to work as volunteers, in turn, helping other children cope with the disease.

Children Hospital

In 2008, thanks to the assistance of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Chulpan Khamatova Foundation built a children's center for oncology, hematology and immunology in Moscow. The center was named after one of the fund's patients - Dmitry Rogachev. A boy with cancer invited the President of Russia for tea with pancakes. And the fund succeeded in making the boy's wish come true! Thanks to this occasion, a children's hospice was built. Unfortunately, the boy is no longer alive. Dima Rogachev died in September 2007 in Israel from a hemorrhage in the lungs.

Directions of the fund's work

The Chulpan Khamatova and Dina Korzun Foundation is working in many areas. Among them:

  • Fundraising for specific patients.
  • Provision of temporary housing in Moscow for visiting patients and their relatives.
  • Organization of volunteer movement in hospitals to support patients.
  • Providing treatment for patients abroad.
  • Organization of donation.
  • Purchase of the best medicines for Moscow clinics.
  • Purchase of modern equipment.
  • Official delivery by courier service from abroad of medicines not registered in Russia.
  • Establishment of a charitable store together with the Vera Foundation.
  • Conducting training seminars for the regions of Russia.
  • Carrying out repairs in Moscow hospitals.
  • Psychological assistance, etc.

Support for children before and after treatment

The Chulpan Khamatova Foundation also helps children before and after treatment. In the best cultural places of Moscow there is an exhibition of drawings by children - patients of the fund. Every year, since 2010, the foundation organizes sports competitions for cured children. Also, the Chulpan Khamatova and Dina Korzun Aid Fund provides all possible assistance in holding charitable events to everyone who wants to contribute to the treatment of children.

The story of today's heroines is inspired by. I wanted to talk not about the glamorous divas of show business, even if they are wonderful mothers. Namely, those who, among other things, are also involved in charity work.

And these two wonderful actresses immediately came to mind - young, beautiful, each with three children, and a common charitable foundation "Gift a life". Both are not alien to the blogosphere, but they are there mainly for the sake of their foundation and the children they help.

The fates of Dina Korzun and Chulpan Khamatova crossed paths in 1998 in a sensational film by Valery Todorovsky "Country of the Deaf". Chulpan starred as Rita, for this she learned sign language. After this film, both viewers and critics recognized her as one of the most talented young actresses in Russian cinema.

The viewer recognized and fell in love with Dina Korzun after the role of the deaf-mute striptease dancer Yaya. It became obvious to everyone that in the person of Dina Korzun, Russian cinematography acquired a truly exceptionally original and outstanding talent.

A few days ago, Chulpan Khamatova, an actress and co-founder of the Podari Zhizn foundation for helping children with oncohematological and other serious diseases, said in an interview with the Estonian Postimees that she was ready to campaign for Vladimir Putin again if another hospital was built instead (we are talking about the Center for Pediatric Hematology , Oncology and Immunology named after Dima Rogachev, built with the assistance of Vladimir Putin). An actress who in 2012 starred in a video supporting Putin, who was then a presidential candidate, she said she was ready to do the same and that, in her opinion, “there is no white and black, there are good and bad deeds.” “My country is doing a lot of good things. And my country does a lot of monstrous, terrible, sad, disgusting things. And I am always ready to thank for good deeds,” Khamatova said.

The statement of the actress caused a strong reaction in the press and social networks, which is why the Gift of Life Foundation opened direct line on facebook. The fund's staff, its director and Chulpan Khamatova herself invited everyone to ask questions about the activities of the fund and its co-founders. At the time of publication of this note, the post on the Give Life page had collected more than 500 comments, most of them were words of support and gratitude, including from founders Vera Hospice Charitable Foundation by Nyuta Federmesser and parents of children who were helped by the Podari Zhizn Foundation.

Fund representatives commented Chulpan Khamatova’s statement about Vladimir Putin’s help in building a clinic: “Vladimir Putin really responded to the proposal of doctors - pediatric oncologists and hematologists that such a clinic is needed in Moscow. The construction was under the personal control of the president. Chulpan Khamatova decided to star in an election video - this is her personal choice. In the video, she thanked the President for his assistance in the construction of the center. To your question (can you just ask for support from the president (for example, a hospital), but not to act in a video?), we cannot answer, because we do not have such information. They also noted that the Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology. Dima Rogacheva is a state clinic, which the foundation takes care of, like a number of other hospitals. At the same time, Khamatova herself said, which considers the negative reaction after showing the video in his address fair, but "short-sighted and underinformed."

When asked if there are any restrictions on who the foundation is ready to accept assistance from and whether it supports the policies of Vladimir Putin, representatives of Podari Zhizn
