The device and operation of the relay FR-7E

The photorelay is housed in a plastic case. The housing consists of a base with contact clamps and a cover. The product diagram is assembled on a printed circuit board. The photorelay threshold adjustment resistor is mounted on the front panel.

The phase of the network 220V is connected to terminal 1, zero is connected to terminal 2.

The photo sensor is connected to terminals 3, 4, and the screen of the photo sensor (white output) is connected to terminal 4.

When the power is turned on, if the illumination of the sensor is higher than the set threshold, the LED on the front panel of the relay lights up. When the sensor illumination falls below the set threshold, the output relay is activated and the LED goes out.

To install a cable with a photo sensor when using a special cartridge, you must:

  • Unscrew the cap (pos. No. 1).
  • Put the gland body on the cable (pos. No. 3), so that the photoresistor body (pos. No. 2) is fixed in the collet petals. Then screw the cap back on.
  • Prepare a hole with a diameter of 16mm; pass the cable through the hole from the side of the leads; put the fixing nut (pos. No. 4) on the cable and tighten it on the cable gland housing.
ATTENTION! It is not allowed for light from sources controlled by a photorelay to enter the input window of the photosensor. This will lead to incorrect operation of the photorelay. Contamination of the input window, mechanical damage to the photocell is not allowed. The threshold is set by turning the adjusting screw on the front panel of the photorelay. directly to the load terminals, an interference suppression circuit in the form of a series-connected resistor 100 ... 200 Ohm 2W and a non-polar capacitor 0.1 ... 0.22 microfarad 630V. 1. General instructions.
1.1. The electronic photorelay FR-2 is designed to work in conjunction with outdoor lighting fixtures, which is connected in series to the lighting fixture power circuit. Photorelay FR2 provides switching on and off of the load depending on the level of natural light.
1.2. The photorelay FR-2 operates at different levels of natural illumination: at a level of less than 1 lux (+/- 0.5 lux) the lamp lamp is turned on, at a level of 4 lux (+/- 0.5 lux) it is turned off. If after turning on the lighting there is a slight illumination of the photo sensor, the photo relay compensates for it independently. The load is turned off when the level of natural light of the sensor is greater than the level of artificial light.
1.3. To protect against short-term extraneous illumination, the luminaires are turned off when the illumination level exceeds the specified level for more than 5 minutes.
1.4. If necessary, the photorelay astronomical timer allows you to turn off the lights at night for a period specified by the user between 22 pm and 7 am.
1.5. The FR2 photorelay is made in a plastic housing with an IP54 degree of protection and a remote photo sensor with a wire length of 1m with an IP68 degree of protection.

3. Completeness.
3.1. The scope of delivery of the electronic photocell includes
- photorelay FR-2 - 1 piece,
- instruction manual - 1 piece.
4. Safety requirements.
4.1. Disconnecting the luminaire from the photorelay FR2, replace the lamp in the luminaire, replace the fuse, reconfigure the board only after disconnecting the photorelay from the mains.
4.2. In order to avoid failure of the photorelay FR-2, it is forbidden to use self-made fuses in the electronic board and connect the load with a current consumption exceeding the rated current of the photorelay.
5. Design and operation of photorelay FR-2

5.1. Structurally, the electronic photorelay is mounted on a textolite printed circuit board. The printed circuit board is installed inside the plastic housing in compliance with electrical safety requirements. The load and power supply voltage of the electronic board are connected through connecting blocks.
5.2. Photorelay operation. When the illumination level decreases to 1 lux, the contacts of relay K1 close and turn on the outdoor lighting fixtures. Then, for 10 minutes, the photorelay is in standby mode and does not respond to changes in illumination (for example, to warm up the DRL lamps). Then the actual level of illumination is measured (taking into account the possible illumination from the included lamps) and stored. In the future, relative to this level of illumination, the illumination level of switching off the lamps is determined, and when it is exceeded, the photorelay switches off the lamps, but only after 5 minutes. A shutter speed of 5 minutes is used to ensure that the photo relay does not turn off from short-term extraneous illumination (for example, from the headlights of a passing car).
5.3. In order to save energy, it is possible to turn off the lights at night. The switch-off and subsequent switch-on time is set by the user (see the night switch-off programming diagram). The night shutdown algorithm is based on measuring the length of the dark time of the day and its coordination with real time, therefore, on the first day after programming or turning off the power of the photo relay, the night shutdown mode will not work.
6. Preparation of photorelay FR2 for operation.
6.1. Install the photorelay FR-2 so that the photocell, if possible, does not fall into the zone of artificial lighting of the lamp. To plug:
- power wires of the electronic board through the block "Network ~ 220 V."
- power supply of the load through the block "Load".
7. Setting up the photorelay FR-2 .
7.1. You can change the daylight level setting at which the light switch turns on the light. For manual adjustment, a tuning resistor R6 is used (“Manual setting of the moment when the photorelay is turned on”). If you turn the resistor clockwise, the photo relay will turn on with more natural light, and if counterclockwise, with less. For automatic adjustment: at the moment when the natural light corresponds to the selected level, press the SB2 button and hold it until the indicator blinks to a constant light and then to a double blink (after about 8-12 seconds), then release the SB2 button . The photorelay will turn on at the newly set illumination level.
7.2. If it is necessary to return to the factory settings, it is necessary to set the trimmer resistor R6 (“Manual setting of the moment when the photorelay is turned on”) to the middle position (the direction of the arrow is as in the figure). Next, press the SB2 button and hold it until the indicator blinks to a constant light, then to a double blink, and until the indicator goes out completely (after about 12 seconds), then release the SB2 button.
7.3. If it is necessary to check the serviceability of incandescent lamps in fixtures, it is necessary to press the programming button SB2 for about 4 ... 8 seconds, waiting for the indicator to be completely lit, and release the SB2 button. To turn off the lamps - briefly (from 0 to 4 seconds) press the button SB2.
7.4. After replacing the photocell, it is necessary to set the FR-2 U2 to turn on at a given illumination level of 1 lux, while the illumination level is automatically set to 4 lux when turned off. To adjust, it is necessary to set the trimming resistor R6 (“Manual setting of the moment when the photorelay is turned on”) to the middle position (the direction of the arrow is as in the figure). Turn the tuning resistor R2 (“Calibrating the new photo sensor”) to the left until it stops, apply power to the photo relay, and slowly rotate the resistor R2 clockwise at a light level of 1 lux (control the light level with a Yu-116 light meter with a F55S photocell or similar) to turn on the relay. At the moment the relay clicks, stop the rotation of the resistor R2 - the photo relay is set.
7.5. To replace the fuse, it is necessary to disconnect the FR-2 U2 photorelay from the mains, remove the board, replace the fuse with a good one.

Programming modes of the photorelay multifunctional button SB2 SB2 button hold time Indicator status
Photo relay restart 0 to 4 sec The indicator flashes
Lamp test mode 4 to 8 sec The indicator is on
Programming a new light level to turn on the photo relay 8 to 12 sec Double blinking indicator
Returning the factory settings of the light level to turn on the photo relay Over 12 sec The indicator is off

Programming diagram for the night time switch-off.

Before programming, select the time of night switching off and switching on of the photorelay between 22 pm and 7 am according to the internal scale of the diagram. On the outer scale of the diagram, determine the code corresponding to the given time. For example, the time when the lamp is turned off at 1 am and turned on at 5 am corresponds to code values 7 and 15 (see diagram). To program, press the SB1 button, and the indicator starts flashing. Count the number of flashes corresponding to the first value of the code (in example 7) and press the SB1 button briefly. Next, continue counting the indicator blinks remaining until the second code value (up to 15 in the example) and press the SB1 button again. If the programming was successful, the LED will be on for 5 seconds. If the indicator continues to flash, it means that the SB1 button was not pressed correctly. Wait until the indicator stops flashing and repeat the procedure. The night shutdown algorithm is based on measuring the length of the dark time of the day and its coordination with real time, therefore, on the first day after programming, the night shutdown mode will not work. stops flashing. 8. Storage rules.

Photorelay FR 602: device, circuit, installation

Purpose, scheme, installation features of the photorelay FR 602

Purpose, scheme, installation features of the photorelay FR 602

30.01.2017

The device is operated in electrical networks of alternating current 220 volts with a frequency of 50 hertz. Photorelay model FR 602 is used to turn on / off street (sometimes indoor) lighting in direct proportion to the level of illumination.

The principle of operation of the relay is simple: when dark, the photosensor is activated, the contacts in the circuit close, the lamp (or several lamps) flashes. When the illumination increases, the contacts, respectively, open, the light automatically turns off.

Relay set:

  • above the entrances of high-rise buildings;
  • at the entrances to private property;
  • on the buildings of institutions and enterprises.

This allows you to manipulate the lighting as needed. The cost of a relay depends on various factors: it can be affected by the manufacturer's rating, the presence of a dimmer, etc.

Photorelay device FR 602

The body of the product is made of non-flammable plastic. A platform is mounted inside, on which a board with functional details is located. Everything is prudently covered with a casing.

The photorelay works with sensors of two types:

  • built-in (when the sensor is built into the device and installed in the electrical panel);
  • remote (sensor and relay separated by some distance).

The shell of the device with remote sensors is produced especially durable and sealed to avoid external influences.

The photorelay circuit FR 602 is built from the following components:

  • variable resistor;
  • diode;
  • control relay;
  • photoresistor;
  • pair of transistors.

Transistors are switched on according to the variant of composite resistors. The relay winding is designed for a certain load, since such circuits are characterized by a significant gain. The input resistance here is quite high, which makes it possible to use a photoresistor with a high resistance value in operation.

As noted above, the built-in (remote) photocell sensor for street lighting informs the electronic board or device unit FR 602 about the state of illumination outside. When the threshold is exceeded, the lights on the street or the local area are turned on.

The device can be programmed in a special mode with a suitable light sensitivity range.

On the packaging and housing of the photorelay FR 602, a connection diagram with current designations is usually printed. The insulation of the relay outputs is colored in different colors in order to prevent incorrect connection when connecting:

  • black is a phase wire;
  • green - zero;
  • red - phase on lamps.

Thus, the black and green wires are powered from the network, and the red one goes to the consumer, and through this wire the lights are switched on and off. Knowing about the features of the marking, it is not difficult to install the device as it should be.

When connecting a photorelay FR 602, a wall-mounted junction box is needed to connect the wires of the circuit - such a box increases the safety of the electrical network and the aesthetics of the wiring.

Proper implementation of the photorelay FR 602 into the power grid allows you to significantly save energy, thereby reducing the cost of maintenance (life support) of the facility.

Pay attention to the photorelay IEK FR 602

The photorelay IEK FR 602 deserves special attention for this reason: unlike a similar modification FR 601, the monitored device is capable of solving more serious problems. In other words, the 602 can handle the number of lamps that the 601 can't handle.

The proposed device has a degree of protection with the international code IP44. This protection protects the electronics from rain and splashes, and therefore allows you to use it without additional protection from rain. The operating threshold range in the device is from 5 to 50 lux. The device withstands air temperatures from -25 degrees Celsius to +40.

A little about the features of connecting the photorelay IEK FR 602

The IEK FR 602 photorelay is fixed with a special bracket fixed with a screw on the body. Fasteners are supplied with the device. When connecting, make sure that there is no interference from natural daylight on the photosensitive elements of the device. Installation should be carried out where there are no trees or other foreign objects.

As for the technical characteristics of the photorelay FR 602, it is important to note: the power source should not exceed the voltage value of 230 volts, and the switched circuit - 10 amperes. If the load eventually turns out to be too large, then the lighting control is entrusted to a very powerful switch or machine. The level of illumination is set by the regulator located on the bottom of the photo relay product. The control limits of the photorelay FR 602 are 5–50 lux - this is what the instructions for the device indicate.

The load depends on the number and power of lamps connected to the device. Its limiting value in our case is 4.4 kilowatts. In this case, the spread of the photorelay threshold is equal to values from 2 to 2000 lux.

When setting up the device by turning the knob from "plus" to "minus", you should focus on a specific task. If it is necessary to light the lamps even during the day in cloudy weather, the regulator turns to "plus". If the task of turning on the lighting is limited to the onset of complete darkness, you need to rotate to "minus".

In the GreenEnergoSnab company, you can buy a photorelay IEK FR 602 and earlier modifications. Products of the domestic trademark IEK® belong to the economy segment. Depending on the conditions of the order, cost options are provided - basic, wholesale, retail. The product is certified, to purchase it, please fill out an application and leave your details: name, delivery address, e-mail, phone.
