Standard sight settings in world of tanks. Proper World of Tanks settings are the key to efficiency

Advanced players know that without mods, a game is not a game. And the most important addition, which is installed over time by all players, concerns weapon equipment. Let's talk about how to install a scope in tanks.

Single modification or modpack?

You can work on sights by downloading a modpack - a package of various mods that make a complex change to the game, or you can install the mod pointwise, without unnecessary additions. Thus, you can install the original equipment on the tank, taking the game to a new level. The following sights are most often installed:

  • sniper
  • arcade
  • Artillery
  • Marakasi for World of Tanks 0.9.17.0.2.
  • penetration
  • With recharge indicator
  • Minimalistic Sights

Some of them have the possibility of additional customization for the owner - for this you need to go to the options in your account.

Detailed and step by step

If you have decided on the choice of the desired modification, download the archive file to your computer and save it in folder D (or another place convenient for you).

  1. Remove the downloaded file from the archive, that is, unzip it (with any familiar program).
  2. In the opened archive files, you will find a text file that will describe your next steps, and two swf files under World of Tanks.
  3. Open the document with the text for installing the modification, find out where you need to copy the swf folders.

Important: if there are problems at this stage, you can solve them by copying the path and pasting it into the address bar of "My Computer". The folder will then open automatically.

Paste the copied swf files into the folder with World of Tanks at the appropriate path. If the required folders do not exist, you need to create them yourself.

The World of Tanks game, although it belongs to the category of "client-online toys", easily allows you to change the interface and modify the original client with various add-ons. New splash screens, hangars and skins, a variety of mods in the form of improved sights, a complex XVM mod, a smart mini-map give the gamer a slight advantage over other players. For example, the "deer gauge" allows you to identify players with high efficiency in battle, and the improved damage panel fixes the type of projectile that hit your tank. As for the sights, their functionality depends on the mod developer. How to change crosshair in World of Tanks?

The standard scope from patch to patch is getting better and better. You can set it up as follows. Open the "Client Settings", go to the "Scope" tab and configure it in your own way. You can change the crosshairs of the gun, the central marker, the transparency of certain elements of the sight, as well as the aiming circle and the reload timer. There are only two types of standard sights that can be configured: sniper and arcade. The artillery sight cannot be changed through the standard settings.

This is where the functionality of the standard scope ends. It's time to think about installing an improved sight. Among the huge number of sights, Jimbo and HardScope sights, as well as minimalist sights from Flash and Amway are considered popular.

You can find these sights on the Web, on sites dedicated to the game World of Tanks. Installing the sight will not take even a couple of minutes. So, how to change the crosshair in WoT?

First, download the sight in the archive and unpack it. Then you need to go to the folder with the game on drive C and open the res-mods folder in it. In res-mods, select the folder with the name of the current patch, create the gui folder in it, and the scaleform folder in gui.

As a result, you will get the following path: C:/World_of_Tanks\res_mods\patch number\gui\scaleform. Transfer the flash files from the archive to the scaleform folder. Congratulations, the crosshair in your client has been changed!

Some scopes, such as the HardScope, have a slightly different mounting method. As a rule, in each archive with a scope there is a mini-instruction, which contains information on installing the scope.

Improved sights have a whole range of additional features. For example, they display the reload time and the state of the gun, the number of shells in the ammunition load, the scale of armor penetration, the range to the target, etc.

Artillery sights have added features such as displaying the time of flight of the projectile and the angle of its entry, the radius of the splash of a high-explosive projectile, and the horizontal aiming angles.

Most archives with scopes have several types of scopes at once, which allows you to change the artillery, arcade and sniper scopes at once.

So, first of all, we need two programs:

Flash Decompiler and Adobe Flash Professional CS5

Once you've downloaded and installed these two programs, you're good to go.
To get started, follow this path: I have this D:\Games\WoT\res_mods\0.9.0\gui\scaleform

In the "scaleform" folder you should find two files: "crosshair_panel_arcade" and "crosshair_panel_sniper". As you probably guessed, these are “Arcade” and “Sniper scope”

First, open the “crosshair_panel_arcade” using the FlashDecompiler program. In it we do the following:

1. Put a tick on the open file.
2.Select the “Convert” department.
3.Choose the path where the file will be saved.
4.Click “Convertcurrent” to start converting.

After the file has been converted, go to the folder where we converted it and open it with the program “AdobeFlashProfessionalCS5”
The most important thing, such as a cooldown timer, scope, or durability percentage, is found here:

In my case, I will remove “PlayerNick” and “Tankname”
What is required for this?

1. Find the sprite we need, right-click on it and click Edit.
2.Select an arrow.
3. Click on the part we need and delete it by pressing the Delete key.
4. After that, press Ctrl+S and Ctrl+Enter to convert it to its original format.

We do the same with the “crosshair_panel_sniper” file, starting with the FlashDecompiler program.

After all your changes to the crosshair, you can drag crosshair_panel_sniper.swf and crosshair_panel_arcade.swf to this path D:\Games\WoT\res_mods\0.9.0\gui\scaleform.
Now we will not see the player's nickname.

In the last article, we talked about which one is needed and this is the primary condition for a comfortable game. But equally important is the correct setting of the game parameters.

Proper settings are the key to a comfortable game! Now we will briefly review all the game settings and pay special attention to the graphics settings.

1. General settings

The Game tab contains general settings.

In the "Chat" section, you can enable message censorship so that asterisks are displayed instead of abusive words (recommended for children). Here you can also turn off spam, platoon invitations, friend requests and messages from those who are not in your contact list (friends). Personally, these messages got me, I turned off the chat altogether and enjoy the game

In the Random Battle Types section, you can turn off Encounter Battle and Assault. In these modes, the same maps are used as in random battles, but the location of bases and victory conditions have been changed. In the "Encounter Battle" mode, there is one common base and the team that captures it or destroys all opponents wins. In Assault mode, one team defends the base, the other defends. To win, the Defenders need to prevent the capture of the base and survive at least one member of the team. To win, the "Strikers" need to capture the base or destroy all opponents at any cost. Personally, I do not like these types of fights, but you can try them for a change, maybe they will suit your taste.

In the "Combat Interface" section, you can turn off the optics effect (green background in the sight) so that it does not spoil the picture, turn off the display of the machine that destroyed you (if it makes you nervous).

Be sure to check the boxes "Enable dynamic camera" and "Horizontal stabilization in the sniper scope" otherwise it is simply impossible to shoot on the move, the scope dangles in all directions!

I uncheck "Show vehicle markers on the scoreboard" and "Show combat effectiveness tapes" because I don't see the point in them, they only distract.

As for the minimap options (camera direction beam, SPG sector of fire and additional features), I turn them off because I use a minimap mod with advanced features, which I will tell you about in the next article. This is important, if you, like me, will use the minimap mod, then disable these options so that they are not duplicated, thereby reducing performance.

When the "Record battles" option is enabled, small files (replays) will be recorded in the "replays" folder, which is located in the game folder, which can then be viewed. This has almost no effect on the performance of the game and you can easily share them with friends or upload them to the site "wotreplays.ru" so that other users can see how you bend over. But these are not video files, they can only be played by the game itself and stop working after exiting next patch. Therefore, if you want to post a video on YouTube or save the history of your victories for posterity, do not forget to digitize the best replays after hard fights using some kind of screen recording program (ShadowPlay, Bandicam, Fraps).

Well, by checking the last checkbox "Display distinguishing marks" you can measure the barrels with the players in the game. Stars or notches (from 1 to 3) received in battles for great service to the motherland will be displayed on the barrel of your tank

As soon as you switch to the "Graphics" tab, the screen settings are displayed.

If you just installed the game and it is still displayed in a window, and not in full screen, then check the "Full screen" box and click the "Apply" button. Only after that you need to select "Screen Resolution". If you have a liquid crystal (flat-panel, TFT) monitor, then select the maximum resolution, and leave the frame rate at 60. If you still have a fucking box of a CRT monitor on your desk, then a resolution of 1280x1024 at 85 Hz is usually suitable for it ( or 75 Hz). Click "Apply" and if everything is displayed normally (not stretched or flickering), then this is good. If you cannot find the resolution you need or the image turned out to be stretched, then try changing the "Aspect Ratio" as well.

In the Graphic Quality field, you can manually select low, medium, high, or maximum quality. This will install the appropriate set of settings, which we will talk about next. If you are not playing on a calculator (a very weak laptop), then make sure that the "3D Render Resolution" slider is set to 100% and uncheck "Dynamic change" otherwise the picture in the game will be blurry.

It is better not to enable the Vertical Sync option, as it negatively affects performance. This is only required in case of noticeable "frame tearing" and is applicable on powerful gaming PCs. The "Triple Buffering" setting is needed to improve the performance of the video card when "Vertical Sync" is enabled, but affects the performance of the processor that performs this buffering.

The Anti-aliasing option improves the picture, it becomes softer and more natural, but this significantly loads the video card and is designed for powerful gaming PCs. In this field, you can select different anti-aliasing modes from lighter (FXAA) to quite heavy (TSSAA-HQ).

"Field of View (FoV)" sets the location of the camera relative to your tank. That is the angle at which you will look at it. The default is set to 95 degrees and "Dynamic FoV" is disabled. No one really complains about these settings, so you can leave everything as it is. If you want to experiment, then you now know how it was, so that later you can return it to its place

The "Gamma" setting adjusts the brightness, but don't touch it in vain, it's better to reset your monitor settings to default, as the game is well calibrated.

"Color Filter" is a gourmet option that overlays a different background in the game, like effects in cameras. I tried, glamorous but useless...

Well, "Color blindness mode" is designed for people with vision problems.

On the same "Graphics" tab, if you click on the "Advanced" button, the graphics quality settings will be displayed.

At the very top there are the already familiar "Recommended" button for automatic selection of optimal parameters, the "Graphics quality" field for setting a set of settings from low to maximum, the "3D render resolution" slider, which should be at 100% and the "Dynamic change" checkbox , which should not have a check mark.

As graphics quality increases, the frame rate per second (FPS) decreases. It is believed that a person sees 24 frames per second and for a smooth picture it is desirable that the game gives out at least 30 FPS. But from my own experience I can say that the normal dynamics in the game starts at 60 FPS.

What is the difference between low dynamics and high dynamics? With low dynamics, your tank drives like a Zhiguli (just stupid), although it can be like a BMW. I have felt this more than once and you will feel it if you follow my advice! Extras (majors) have powerful computers that even at high graphics settings give out decent FPS (100 or more). Therefore, they feel the dynamics in the game much better, the machine reacts subtly to all the fibers of the soul and they play more efficiently. And on a fast ST or LT without dynamics, it’s generally sad ... I’m not talking about supercomputers that are used in e-sports. That is what they are for - for dynamics.

The network game is not a single shooter and the victory over a live opponent is important in it, and not sluggish participation in a meat grinder with bots Then the game gives such a desired moral satisfaction after hard working days, and not frustration and a bottle of vodka Convinced, no? Then read on

I have a mid-range gaming PC and pulls the game at maximum graphics settings, giving out 40 FPS. On high settings, it averages 60 FPS. In the settings window, which I gave above, you can select the type of graphics "Standard" or "Improved". So, despite the fact that the hardware allows, I have long preferred to play on standard graphics, without any extra goodies.

Just like that, simple and angry, yes. But what a pleasure the game brings when you race on a bachata (or at least a pissatfour) at a speed of 100-150 FPS! And there is not a speck of dust in your eye, nor clouds of smoke and heaving earth from a T92 shell that fell nearby, nor the terrible grass drawn schoolchildren for ice cream by highly paid designers, no fog that prevents the T95 hatch from being aimed from 500 meters, no other nasty graphical innovations that turn BMWs into Zhiguli and interfere with effective play.

Many computers draw standard graphics much better, the FPS is many times higher and nothing prevents you from manually setting the available sliders to high settings, at which the picture turns out to be quite neat, clean and dynamic!

I also recommend turning off grass and effects in sniper mode (they are very annoying), foliage transparency (makes the game even cleaner and faster), tracks and effects from under the caterpillars (you never look at them at all). "Quality extra. effects "it is better not to set it above average or turn it off altogether, since they also interfere (for example, when a projectile bursts nearby from artillery). It is better to uncheck the “Dynamic change in the quality of effects” checkbox, there is no need for the graphics in the game to float.

In addition to the high dynamics and clarity of the picture, you will get some nice bonuses that you will notice during the game (for example, thanks to the transparency of the water, the bottom relief is clearly visible and where you can drive along it). Try it, ride for a while and you will notice that you have become more efficient. The main thing is not to rush forward on the wings of FPS

I don't promise anything, because I don't eat ties and caps. But if you still don't like the standard graphics, then just change the settings. The screenshot below shows the advanced graphics settings that provide the optimal quality / performance ratio for a medium-sized PC.

You can download a detailed description of the settings for improved graphics, how they affect image quality, what kind of load on the video card and processor you can in the "" section.

And yet, if the game needs to be restarted to apply the settings, a corresponding message will appear. In any case, I recommend restarting the game when making major changes to graphics settings.

When we get to the mods, there are still interesting opportunities to make the picture cleaner, and the sight more stable.

If, despite all the settings, your computer is sorely lacking in performance, consider installing a new level of GTX 1050 Ti or 1060.

MSI GTX 1050 Ti graphics card

Here is a screenshot of the settings in the Sound tab.

Everything seems to be clear here, so I will add only a little personal experience.

I turn off the music right away, it interferes with the game no less than improved graphics

If you do not use a microphone in team fights, then turn off voice communication by unchecking the only checkbox. Turn it on if needed. Communication works on the principle of a walkie-talkie - you pressed the microphone activation button (Q), said, let go and listen to others. The one who holds the button for a long time clogs the air with noise from his microphone (computer, apartment).

Headphones A4Tech Bloody G430

The microphone must be connected before starting the game. If the microphone is not always on, then after connecting it, it is better to restart the computer, otherwise it may not work or work poorly. First check through the test service in Skype that the microphone is working properly, you can hear well and there is no strong background. If necessary, increase (or decrease) the microphone sensitivity in the system settings (in Windows 7: Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Manage Sound Devices\Recording).

Then start the game, enable voice communication and select your microphone in the appropriate field. The Player Voice Volume setting affects how you hear others. The default “Microphone sensitivity” should be enough, starting from level 70 your voice can start to repeat and cause discomfort to other players, do not overdo it with this parameter and ask your comrades not “How can you hear me?”, But “Is it too loud?” ? I usually reduce the “general volume level of the environment during a conversation” to 50, this muffles all the sounds of the game at the moment when your comrade is talking to you and you don’t have to ask him again.

Well, the last, but not the newest feature is the national voice acting. I usually leave the standard one, because who knows his mother what the crew of a Chinese tank is babbling there. But it's worth a try, the thing is picky

And yet, there is some other “Start Test” button, which I just noticed. Try it, tell me later in the comments

In the mods, we will also set the sound to the light bulb, this is the song!

With the settings on the "Management" tab, it's even easier.

But I will still give you a few tips. I recommend reducing the sensitivity of the sniper scope and increasing the sensitivity of the artillery. Expose it approximately as in my screenshot. This will give you better aiming accuracy when you are in a tank, because at high sensitivity, especially at medium and long distances, it is difficult to aim enemies, the sight moves too fast. And when you are on artillery, on the contrary, you are tormented by dragging the sight back and forth across the whole map with low sensitivity, and the rug is erased ...

Mouse A4Tech XL-740K

Do not even think about turning on any inversion, only plums will go

And one more piece of advice. If you have a mouse with additional buttons, then you can assign a specific consumable cell to one of them. In cells 1-3, the types of shells are switched and it is unnecessary to touch them. But in cells 4-6 there can be manually activated consumables. For example, I set a fire extinguisher in the first cell, which corresponds to the 4 key on the keyboard. Instead of key 4, I have long ago assigned a side button on the mouse in the game settings. This allows you to quickly put out the fire in the event of a fire, and not look for the right button on the keyboard while the ammunition explodes. In addition, if there is an increased risk of fire, for example, an AMX 1390 drove into your stern and is glad that he got to the soft one, then it won’t hurt to click at this time side mouse button for prevention! Works like an automatic fire extinguisher, but costs 7 times less

In the next article about mods, I will tell you how to assign multiple keys to one action and shoot more accurately! Yes, and if you screw up with the control settings, then there is a button "Default"

Go to the Target tab.

Well, there is nothing to say at all. You can adjust the size and shape of the sight, which I once tried. But the default settings are close to optimal, except to make the size bigger. Yes, and somewhere else a sight with an indication is selected. You point at the VLD (upper frontal part) of the enemy - it becomes red, you point at the NLD (you can guess) - green. In general, it makes it clear whether your projectile can penetrate armor in this place. Red - no, green - yes.

But don't bother with it, because in the article about mods we will install a more convenient sight with the correct indication, taking into account the angle of entry of the projectile!

Well, I just have to say that on this tab there are two more linings (pun turned out) for setting up separately an arcade (from the 3rd person) and a sniper scope (in optics).

Here you can customize the various icons above the tanks.

I somehow made the optimal settings for myself and they were saved, since now most of the settings (except for graphics and sound, in my opinion) are stored on the server and pulled from it again, even if the game is completely reinstalled.

There are also pads for customizing markers for allies, enemies, and destroyed vehicles. For allies, they are the same for me there, and for the destroyed ones, only the vehicle model for reference, the rest is disabled so as not to interfere on the screen.

I honestly tell you everything, but still I hope that you install the right mods and you don’t have to manually configure anything here

8. Remove unnecessary files

And finally, some more useful information. You can significantly reduce the amount of disk space your game takes up by deleting all files from the Updates folder.

This folder contains temporary files that are downloaded during game updates. The developers themselves confirmed that these files are absolutely unnecessary and can be safely removed. This is especially true for SSD drives that are small in size. For example, this folder occupied 13.4 GB for me! Why was she sentenced to destruction without the right to restore

A-Data Ultimate SU650 120GB Hard Drive

9. Conclusion

Summing up, I want to say the following. If you want to win, forget about special effects and set up the game with high quality! After all, defeats do not bring any pleasure, but only irritate and leave a feeling of dissatisfaction!

Good day!

Newbies, rejoice! Today you can learn how to properly set up the game.

This is important, because by properly setting up the game, you can play comfortably. Consider the basic settings of the game.

Experienced gamers have long known how this is done.

Therefore, the article is unlikely to be useful to them. But "recruits" who are just starting to play tanks should take the time to read.

The settings will increase the profitability of the game and it will become much more comfortable to play World of Tanks. You will learn how to set up graphics, scope, markers, how to increase FPS and other important points.

From this article you will learn:

Settings in the game: why are they needed?

Graphics settings in any games, including World of Tanks, are necessary. With them, the chance of winning increases, and the gameplay becomes more enjoyable.

Often, FPS drawdowns interfere with movement, shots often go off target. The result - the enemy gains an advantage over you.

FPS is a display of frames per second. The value depends on the processor power, the optimal amount of RAM, the PC configuration. The best option is starting from 50 frames. The best parameters can be achieved with high-performance computers, optimal RAM, powerful processors.

But what if you don't have all of the above? Is it possible to properly set up the game? Undoubtedly.

We set it up correctly

Now you will learn how to compensate for weak points and increase the configuration to the maximum. Competent World of Tanks settings will help with this. The game has many settings that affect not only the quality of the image, but also the gameplay in general.

At the same time, please note that there are also settings that do not affect performance. They are in the "Game" tab. Here you can customize the selection of battles, mini-map, chat, in a word, every little thing. To do this, select and put a tick in the right place.

But the rest of the online game settings are important. They will help you change the quality of the graphics, adjust the screen resolution. At the same time, the choice of quality must be approached with caution, without overestimating the performance of your PC.

Learning how to set up the World of Tanks game for battle

1. General settings. Located in general settings. Here I think everything is clear.

2. In the "Chat" spam is turned off, censorship of messages is turned on. Here you can accept friend requests, platoon invitations, and messages.

3. In the "types of random battles" section, "assault" and "encounter battle" are disabled. In these modes, the maps are the same as in random battles, but the victory condition and the location of the bases change. Even in the "Encounter Battle" there is one base left, the victory goes to the one who destroys all enemies or captures the base first. And in the "Storm" one of the teams is engaged in the defense of the base, the second - respectively, defends it. Personally, I do not like these types of battles, but for a change, you can try.

4. Option "Combat interface" - here the "Effect of optics" is turned off (significantly spoils the picture) and the display of a combat vehicle that destroys you (personally makes me nervous).

5. Be sure to check the boxes next to "horizontal stabilization in a sniper scope", "enable dynamic camera". If this is not done, you will not be able to shoot on the move.

6. Regarding the mini-map options, it is better to turn them off and use the mini-map mod, which has an advanced feature. When using the mod, disable the options. If this is not done, the parameters will decrease due to duplication.

7. We also put a tick on "display distinguishing marks" - this allows you to exchange trunks with other players.

General settings

Above, I wrote that you can set the automatic settings for World of Tanks. But it is better not to be lazy and do it manually.

There are many types of settings.

The quality of the graphics is configured by going to the "Advanced settings". With the naivety of a powerful computer, we raise everything to the maximum (we push the sliders forward). With weak hardware, we think over which FPS indicators it is important to increase or decrease. Quite frail PC? Move the sliders to the minimum. Well, if nothing helps, download mods or assembly.

Sound problems are set up elementarily. Adjusts the sound sliders to a comfortable volume. The microphone and voice communication are regulated in the same way.

In the "Control" tab, you can change the current control settings and sensitivity to the sight.

In the "Sight Settings" the standard game sight is configured. There are both arcade and sniper sights, the type of information changes, markers, weapon indicator.

Markers are configured in the corresponding tab, where the normal and alternative markers of destroyed tanks (allies and opponents) are adjusted.

How to set up a video card?

Now let's figure out how to set up the video card of the World of Tanks game. Consider this on the example of NVIDIA. To configure drivers, right-click on any empty space.

You will see a list with the following options: 3D - adjust image settings - settings according to the 3D application - apply.

Select the map control panel - manage 3D settings.

Now set the following options: CUDA / texture filtering / anisotropic filtering / multi-display acceleration / mixed GPU / vertical sync / triple buffering / background lighting shading / anti-aliasing / maximum pre-frames / gamma correction, power management mode / anti-aliasing / parameters. If you don't have any options, tweak the ones you have.

Such settings will make the map work correctly.

Graphics settings

There is a choice of 3 levels of "graphics quality" - high, medium, low. You can also set it up manually.

You can choose from these options:

1. Fog display.

2. Water display.

3. Distance of drawings.

4. Object.

5. Game effect.

7. Distance of drawings.

Control

The location of all controls available during the battle can be configured in the "Touch Control". Attention: some are disabled in the general control settings.

Once you click on the selected item, a green area will appear. Within it, the element moves and there is a slider that changes the size of the elements. You need to configure the interface so that it is as comfortable to play as possible.

In the "control" you can adjust the sensitivity of the joystick, camera and other game parameters.

1. Enabled - the sight will constantly follow the locked targets.

2. Auto-aim - affects the behavior of auto-aim.

3. On the button - makes it possible to turn off / on the auto-aim for arcade and sniper modes during battles.

4. In the arcade - automatic crosshair tracking in arcade mode.

5. Left-handed mode - swaps the fire button and the movement joystick.

6. Off - the crosshair will not automatically follow the target.

7. Free view - disables / enables areas that allow you to turn the camera from the gun during the battle.

8. Dynamic joystick - will change the movement joystick.

Markers

Here, the markers of those players that are displayed above their combat vehicles during battles are configured for the alternative and standard modes.

For any type of military equipment, the following parameters are included: type of equipment, icon, model, player name, vehicle durability, level.

Setting up the World of Tanks game correctly is not difficult at all. Even if this is the first time, just read what was written again. I'm sure everything will work out!

After completing the settings, you will be amazed at how much new opportunities will open before you. Not enough performance and at the same time everything is done? I'll have to think about buying a new video card.
