According to local media, the woman arrived in the country about five days ago and settled in a hotel. She was traveling in a car with 32-year-old Ukrainian citizen Ivanna Boyarchuk, who was driving a Kia Picanto and recording what was happening on video.

National police spokesman Colonel Frank Felix Duran Mejia confirmed that the accident happened on the afternoon of October 11 at the second roundabout of the avenue that leads to Punta Cana Airport. Doctors at the medical center where Natalya was taken stated that the woman had died due to a head injury. The incident was classified as an accident.
