Evidence of scientists about the existence of God. Irresistible Proof of God's Existence

An absolute shock to the scientific world was the speech of the famous philosophy professor Anthony Flew. Under the pressure of indisputable facts, the scientist admitted that atheism is a clear delusion.

The scientist, who would be well over 80 today, was one of the pillars of scientific atheism for many years. For decades, Flue has been publishing books and giving lectures based on the thesis that faith in the Almighty is unjustified, the Meta portal writes.
Since 2004, however, a series of scientific discoveries has forced the great atheist advocate to change his views. Flue publicly stated that he was wrong, and the universe could not have arisen on its own - it was obviously created by someone more powerful than we can imagine.

According to Flue, earlier he, like other atheists, was convinced that once upon a time, the first living matter simply appeared from dead matter. “Today, it is impossible to imagine the construction of an atheistic theory of the origin of life and the appearance of the first organism of reproduction,” Flue says.

According to the scientist, modern data on the structure of the DNA molecule irrefutably indicate that it could not have arisen on its own, but is someone's development. The genetic code and the literally encyclopedic volumes of information that a molecule stores in itself refute the possibility of a blind coincidence.

Miraculous creation

The Internet was blown up by the revelation of the famous British scientist Anthony Flew (Antony Garrard Newton Flew), with whom he spoke, renouncing his - atheistic - faith. It happened back in 2004, when Flue turned 81:

“My erroneous views have undoubtedly influenced the worldview of many people, and I want to correct the enormous harm that I apparently caused them,” said the scientist, who had previously enthusiastically and vehemently lectured atheistic lectures in various higher educational institutions.

The other day, Flue's revelation of almost a decade ago surfaced through the efforts of bloggers. And it provoked an enthusiastic response from many. Which is not surprising for those who were not familiar with him - a revelation. When famous people, and even more so atheists, agree that God exists, it is shocking. Makes me want to understand why.

Here is what Anthony Flew himself explained at the time:

“The biological study of DNA has shown that a truly incredible combination of many different factors is required for the emergence of life, and this undoubtedly leads to the conclusion that someone who is capable of creating is involved in all this ... The existing facts convinced me of the absurdity of the theory that claims that the first living the organism originated from inanimate matter, and then, through evolution, turned into a creation of extraordinary complexity ... Now, even the very idea of the possibility of the origin of the first organism capable of self-reproduction, according to the scenario of spontaneous natural evolution, seems blasphemous to me ...

Flu is not alone. In fact, he is echoed by Francis Crick, who was one of the first to describe the helical structure of the DNA molecule:

- In the light of the knowledge that is available to us today, the only conclusion that an open-minded person can come to is the recognition of the fact that life is the result of some wonderful creation, otherwise how can one explain the amazingly precise interaction of a huge number of factors necessary for the origin of life and its development ...

And here is what the American biochemist Professor Michael Behe, an employee of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and the author of the book Darwin's Black Box, recently admitted:

“Over the past 50 years, biochemists have uncovered many important mysteries of the human cell. Tens of thousands of people have devoted their lives to laboratory research in order to uncover these secrets. But all the efforts expended to study the living organism clearly yielded one result: "Creation."

Is there any point in praying

“The Lord not only exists, but also intervenes in our lives,” argues the well-known geneticist and former head of the Human Genome Project, Francis Collins, in his bestseller The Language of God, who his own research also made a deeply religious person and the author of a sensational saying: "There is no contradiction between faith in God and science." The scientist refers to the quantum mechanism of uncertainty, which makes the surrounding world free, unpredictable in its development and completely inexplicable.

“God certainly controls the processes of the universe,” writes Collins, “but in ways so subtle that they are elusive to modern scientists. In this sense, science opens the door to the realization of divine influence without encroaching on the existing laws of nature.

According to Collins, it turns out that since God is messing with us at the quantum level, it makes sense to pray to him. And ask for help.

By the way, according to the memoirs of Darwin's contemporaries, when he was already close to death and he was asked: "So who created the world?" he replied, "God."

Philosopher, researcher at the Russian State University for the Humanities Alexei Grigoriev:

- The hopes of scientists of the twentieth century that the world will be known in a few decades have not yet been justified. And today we do not know the answers to seemingly the most elementary questions: what is energy, electron, attraction? None of the modern brilliant designers are able to create such a universal machine as a person is. No engineer will build a system in which, like in the Universe, an amazing balance of planets would be preserved, which would not allow humanity to burn out or freeze. Are not the physical constants that define the structure of our world surprising: gravitational, magnetic, and many others? Many years ago, scientists proved that if these constants were different, for example, differed from the current ones by only one percent, then neither atoms nor galaxies would have arisen. Not to mention people.

The inexplicable orderliness and consistency of the structure of the Universe and man lead many scientists to believe in the Creator.

British physicist Martin John Rees, who won this year's Templeton Prize, believes that the universe is a very complex thing. The scientist, who has more than 500 scientific papers to his credit, received $1.4 million for proving the existence of the Creator, although the physicist himself is an atheist, the Korrespondent edition adds.

“According to the director of the International Institute of Theoretical and Applied Physics, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Anatoly Akimov, the existence of God has been proven by scientific methods,” Interfax reports.

“God exists, and we can observe the manifestations of His will. This is the opinion of many scientists, they do not just believe in the Creator, but rely on some knowledge,” he said in an interview published on Friday by the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper.

At the same time, the scientist noted that in past centuries, many physicists believed in God. Moreover, until the time of Isaac Newton, there was no separation between science and religion. Priests were engaged in science, because they were the most educated people. Newton himself had a theological education and often repeated: "I derive the laws of mechanics from the laws of God."
When scientists invented the microscope and began to study what was happening inside the cell, the processes of duplication and division of chromosomes caused them a stunning reaction: “How could this be if all this was not provided by the Almighty ?!”

“Indeed,” added A. Akimov, “if we talk about the fact that a person appeared on Earth as a result of evolution, then, taking into account the frequency of mutations and the speed of biochemical processes, it would take much more time to create a person from primary cells than the age of the Universe itself” .

“In addition,” he continued, “calculations were made that showed that the number of quantum elements in the volume of the radio observable Universe cannot be less than 10155, and it cannot but have superintelligence.”

“If all this is a single system, then, considering it as a computer, we ask: what is beyond the power of a computing system with so many elements? These are unlimited possibilities, more than the most sophisticated and modern computer by an incommensurable number of times!” - emphasized the scientist.
In his opinion, what different philosophers called the Universal Mind, the Absolute, this is a super-powerful system, which we identify with the potentialities of the Almighty.

“This,” says A. Akimov, “does not contradict the main provisions of the Bible. There, in particular, it is said that God is omnipresent, he is present always and everywhere. We see that this is so: the Lord has unlimited possibilities of influencing everything that happens. A. Akimov was baptized at the age of 55. "Did you believe in God?" the priest asked him when he arrived at the church. “No, I just realized that He cannot not exist!” - answered the scientist.

We told you about the curious proofs of the existence of God, presented by various scientists or talented students. Today we decided to tell you more such theories.

1. Euler's formula proving the existence of God

Leonhard Euler (April 15, 1707 - September 18, 1783) was a Swiss mathematician and physicist, one of the first to make important discoveries in the fields of infinitesimal analysis and graph theory. Euler also created much of the modern mathematical terminology and notation, in particular for mathematical analysis, such as the concept of a mathematical function. He is known for his work in mechanics, fluid dynamics, optics and astronomy. He spent most of his adult life in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Berlin, Prussia.

Euler's religious beliefs can be judged from his letter to a German princess and from an earlier work, A Defense of Divine Revelation Against the Objections of Dissenters. These documents show that Euler was a devout Christian who believed that the Bible had a beneficial effect on people.

According to a well-known legend, Euler found arguments for the existence of God when he debated the subject with secular philosophers. At that time he lived in St. Petersburg, and at the same time the French philosopher Denis Diderot was visiting Russia at the invitation of Catherine the Great. The empress was alarmed by the Frenchman's arguments in favor of atheism - they could have a bad effect on her court, so she asked Euler to enter into an argument with Diderot.

Diderot learned that a famous mathematician had found evidence for the existence of God and agreed to take a look at it. Euler at the meeting came close to Diderot and declared the following: "Sir, \frac(a+b^n)(n)=x, therefore, God exists!". The argument seemed to Diderot, who did not understand anything in mathematics, nonsense, so he stood with his mouth open, while the witnesses of this scene were already secretly giggling. Embarrassed, he turned to the Empress with a request to leave Russia, and she allowed him to leave.

2. A mathematician developed God's theorem

Kurt Friedrich Gödel was an Austrian and later American logician, mathematician and philosopher. He, along with Aristotle and Frege, is considered one of the most significant logicians in human history. Gödel made an enormous contribution to the development of scientific and philosophical thinking in the 20th century.

In 1931, when he was 25, Gödel published two incompleteness theorems. A year earlier, he received his doctorate from the University of Vienna. To prove the first theorem, Gödel developed a technique now known as Gödel numbering, which converts formal expressions into natural numbers.

Gödel also proved that neither the axiom of choice nor the continuum hypothesis could be refuted by the accepted axioms of set theory, since those axioms agree. Thanks to this, mathematicians were able to explore the axiom of choice in their proofs. He also made important contributions to proof theory by clarifying the connection between classical logic, intuitionistic logic, and modal logic.

Gödel's death in 1978 left a theory based on the principles of modal logic, a type of formal logic that narrowly involves the use of the expressions "necessarily" and "possibly." The theorem states that God, or the supreme being, is something that we are unable to understand. But God exists in understanding. If God exists in understanding, it can be assumed that he exists in reality. Thus, God must exist.

3. The scientist who sees no conflict between science and religion

During an interview on CNN in April 2007 in Rockville, Maryland, Francis S. Collins, director of the Human Genome Project, once again stated that the information embedded in DNA proves the existence of God.

As a believer, Dr. Collins sees DNA - the molecule that is present in all living things, which contains all the information about the species - as a language, and the elegance and complexity of organs and the rest of nature as a reflection of God's plan.

However, Collins did not always think so. In 1970, when he was a graduate student in the Department of Theoretical Chemistry, he was an atheist and found no reason to postulate the existence of any truths outside of mathematics, physics and chemistry. He then entered medical school and faced the problem of life and death of patients. One of the patients asked him: "What do you believe, doctor?", and Collins began to look for answers.

Collins admitted that science, which he loves so much, is powerless to answer the following questions: “What is the meaning of life?”, “Why am I here?”, “Why does mathematics work this way and not otherwise?”, “If the Universe had a beginning , then who laid the foundation for this?", "Why are the physical constants of the Universe tuned so finely that the possibility of the emergence of complex life forms is allowed?", "Where do people get morality?" and “What happens after death?”.

Dr. Collins has always believed that faith is based on purely emotional and irrational arguments. He was therefore astonished when he found, in the early writings of the Oxford scholar C. S. Lewis, and subsequently in many other sources, very strong arguments for the plausibility of the existence of God, formed on purely rational grounds.

In fact, Dr. Collins says he sees no conflict between science and religion. Yes, he agrees that descent from a common ancestor through evolution is obvious. But he also claims that the study of DNA provides strong evidence of our connection to all other living beings.

According to Dr. Collins, he discovered that there is a wonderful harmony between the truths of science and faith. The God of the Bible is also the God of the genome. God can be found both in the cathedral and in the laboratory. Science, which explores the majestic and terrible creation of God, can indeed be worshiped.

4. Two programmers allegedly proved that God exists

In October 2013, two scientists, Christoph Benzmüller from the Free University of Berlin and his colleague Bruno Wolsenlogel Paleo from the Technical University in Vienna, allegedly proved the God-existence theorem created by the Austrian mathematician Kurt Gödel - we have already mentioned this man and his theorem in second item on our list.
Using an ordinary MacBook computer for calculations, they showed that Gödel's proof is correct, at least on a mathematical level, from the point of view of high modal logic.

In their report, "Formalization, Mechanization, and Automation: Gödel's Proof of God's Existence," they said that "Gödel's ontological proof was analyzed on the first day of the study with an extraordinary degree of detail using higher-order theorems."

Either way, the evidence is skeptical. Although the researchers claim to have proved Gödel's theorem, their work does not confirm the existence of God, but what advances can be made in science using advanced technology - this is what famous mathematicians say.

Benzmuller and Paleo believe their work could be useful in areas such as artificial intelligence and software and hardware validation. Ultimately, the formalization of Gödel's ontological proof is unlikely to convince atheists or change anything in the souls of true believers, who might argue that the idea of a higher power defies logic by definition. But for mathematicians looking for ways to get to the next level, this news may be the answer to their prayers.

5. The neurologist claims that clinical death really exists.

Although no truly conclusive evidence has emerged in both parts of our article, we cannot help but write about near-death experiences here.

Scientific research has shown that clinical death, with all its manifestations, such as a bright light, a journey through a tunnel, or the feeling of leaving one's own body, is an experience that is more vivid and memorable than any other.
According to Belgian neurologist Stephen Lorius, head of the Coma Research Group at the University Hospital in Liege, Belgium, he has interviewed many coma patients over the years. They told him about their "journeys" and other near-death experiences.

The team, made up of scientists from the Comatose Research Group and staff from the University of Cognitive Psychology, developed questionnaires to refine sensory and emotional details in the subjects' memories. They then compared near-death experiences with other memories of real events accompanied by strong emotions, as well as memories of pleasant dreams and thoughts. However, scientists were surprised to find that near-death experience was far more dramatic than any imaginary or real event, including childbirth and marriage.

On April 10, 2013, Dr. Lorius told CNN that patients in intensive care are often afraid to tell their near-death stories for fear that people won't take them seriously, but those who have experienced such experiences often change forever and no longer afraid of death.

All of them are sure that their bright experience was real. Dr. Lorius believes that experience originates in human physiology. In addition, it turned out that it is enough for a person to simply think (perhaps erroneously) that he is dying, and, most likely, the memory of the near-death experience will appear.

Many people who have had a near-death experience were not physically in mortal danger, and this indirectly proves that the perception of the risk of death itself seems to be important in terms of having a near-death experience.

Lorius does not want to speculate about the existence of Heaven or Hell, but, according to him, only a small minority of clinical deaths are horrific. In most cases, they remain with the person as a pleasant memory - probably, many more people fly to Heaven than to Hell.

FROM THE EDITOR. By publishing this material, we risk a lot. We take risks because today, both believers and non-believers alike, agree that it is impossible to rationally prove the existence of God. True, for various reasons. If the former believe that this is impossible, since God is revealed to heart purity, and not to the intricacies of the mind, then the latter are convinced that since it is impossible to scientifically testify to the fact of the existence of God, then God does not exist, because. only science is objective.

However, not everyone knows that there is a centuries-old tradition in Christian culture. In the Middle Ages, such evidence became popular thanks to the Catholic scholastic theologians, primarily Anselm of Canterbury and Thomas Aquinas.

True, the scholastics, as a rule, turned their arguments not to atheists - what atheists in the Middle Ages! - but to believers, in order to rationally confirm the faith. Since the existence of God seemed obvious, "reasonable", then in the world, in life, philosophers sought to find obvious, reasonable confirmation of this.

It is interesting to note that no such school of "proofs for the existence of God" has emerged in the Orthodox tradition. Orthodoxy proceeded and proceeds from a different understanding of the relationship between faith and reason (although neither Orthodox nor Catholics, as a rule, oppose reason and faith). The main evidence in Orthodoxy was and remains the man himself, who has met God in his heart. And if this meeting did not happen, how can one believe? And if it happened, then the loving heart no longer needs any more arguments!

But after all, many of us were trained precisely in Western philosophy. And our thinking itself has acquired such a Western "taste". How many times have we heard: and you prove, rationally justify that God exists! And if, by and large, such evidence is unlikely to lead a person to God (such is the position of the editors), this does not mean that they are absolutely useless. After all, for someone they can be the first step on the path to faith ...

Today we live not in medieval Byzantium or Russia, but not in medieval Western Europe either. Much water has flowed under the bridge since then, but the believing mind has not ceased to search inquisitively for the rational foundations of its faith, finding new and new evidence of the presence of the Creator in the world.

The following article is an attempt to list and (to start) briefly describe the searches in this area. Of course, one can not agree with all the arguments, and if someone is interested in this or that proof, the editors are ready to provide both the author and his opponents with an opportunity for discussion.

16 Proofs That God Exists

1. The first proof that can be called "existential" (that is, "proof from existence") is formulated as follows: Why is everything that is, rather than not?

After all, both creating something and maintaining the existence of something is much more difficult than having nothing at all. Try, for example, to design a cottage on your own, choose a suitable place for it, build it and constantly maintain order in it ... Or, for example, in order for your garden to be a real garden, you need to regularly dig up, plant, weed, water, etc. If this is not done, the garden will immediately overgrow with weeds, run wild and turn into an ordinary field without any trace of reasonable care.

In other words, the existence of any thing or structure requires a continuous expenditure of energy; when its internal supply is depleted or its influx from outside stops, the structure collapses. Therefore, the eternal existence of the Universe contradicts, for example, the second law of thermodynamics, according to which all the stars in the Universe should have died out long ago and even atoms would have decayed if, as atheist materialists claim, nature existed forever.

So why does it still exist as BEING, as a beautiful and wonderful Cosmos? Undoubtedly, only because it was created by Someone and has been maintained by Him since then.

This Creator is God, about whom Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727), who formulated the laws of universal gravitation and motion, discovered differential calculus, said: “He abides forever; present everywhere; It constitutes the duration of time and space.

2. The second proof goes like this:

Why does everything that exists, naturally and amazingly ordered, bear the undoubted imprint of a reasonable plan for the arrangement of the whole? After all, such a plan cannot but presuppose the existence of a Mind that is superhuman in its capabilities, a truly divine Planner (since regularity is a property of the mind)?

So, Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-1543), who created the theory that the Sun is in the center of the universe, and the Earth only revolves around it, believed that this model demonstrates the wisdom of God in the universe, for “who else could place this lamp ( Sun) to a different or better position?”

When a watchmaker assembles a watch mechanism, he scrupulously fits one part to another, takes a spring of precisely calculated length, certain sizes of hands, a dial, etc. The result is a wonderful mechanism, which, by the very fact of the expediency and calculation of its device, points to the mind that created it.

But how much more complicated, more harmonious and more reasonable is the structure of the entire Universe around us, this beautiful Cosmos!

Albert Einstein (1879-1955), who formulated the theory of relativity, put it this way: “The harmony of natural law reveals a Mind so superior to us that, in comparison with it, any systematic thinking and action of human beings turns out to be a supremely insignificant imitation.”

The universe, as the ancient Greeks said, is "Cosmos", that is, a beautifully ordered and harmonious complex system, consisting of interconnected parts, each of which is subject to special laws, and all as a whole are governed by a combination of general laws, so that the pursuit of any particular goal in an amazing way contributes to the achievement of the overall goal of the whole.

Therefore, it is impossible to admit that all this was a matter of chance, and not of reasonable Providence, that is, the Providence of God.

3. The “cosmological proof” of the existence of God was developed by the ancients (in particular, Aristotle) and is most often found in the following form: every thing in the world and everything, the entire Universe as a whole has a reason for its existence, but continue this sequence, the chain of reasons until infinity is impossible - somewhere there must be a First Cause, which is no longer determined by any other, otherwise everything turns out to be groundless, “hangs in the air”.

Not only philosophers speak about such a Cause, but also many naturalists and scientists. Thus, the famous Louis Pasteur (1822-1895), who developed, among other things, the world-famous milk purification process, which since then bears his name, often mentioned the "cosmic asymmetric Force" that created life. He believed that the concept of CAUSE "should be reserved for the single divine impulse that formed this Universe."

It is clear that God is such a causeless cause: “God is not a man” - He is spiritual (“ideal”, like a thought), that is, he is outside of time and space, therefore he does not arise, but exists forever, being not a cause in the physical sense of the word , but the Creator of the visible Universe and its laws.

4. The “anthropic principle of the Universe” as proof of the existence of a reasonable plan for the structure of the Universe and God was, probably unwittingly, put forward by modern science, which suddenly found out that life on Earth, the emergence of man and the development of civilization are possible only if there is a combination of extremely hard and paradoxically improbable conditions, which, as it were, were originally laid down in nature itself: a fixed distance from the Sun (a little closer to it - and living organisms would burn out, a little further - they would freeze, turning into insensible blocks of ice); the presence of the rotation of the Earth, without which unbearable heat would reign on one half of the planet, while the other would be bound by eternal ice; the existence of a certain size of a satellite that provides a complex system of circulation of water flows; minerals and resources: coal, metals, oil, water, etc., without which technogenic civilization could not arise and develop, etc.

Moreover, modern scientists have the impression that the entire universe is located and oriented in such a way that it can be viewed with human eyes! The existing coordination, interconnectedness and interdependence of these factors is such that the possibility of its "accidental" occurrence is completely excluded.

5. The following proof of the creation of the Cosmos by a reasonable will was also formulated at the forefront of modern cosmology and physics, which drew attention to the paradoxical existence of the Universe in the form in which it exists: it turned out that only four basic physical constants, without which it could not exist for a long time as a structurally organized whole, the probability of their "accidental" occurrence and coordination with each other is approximately 10 to the minus 100th degree. But there are not four basic constants, but even more ...

6. The following "teleological" (from the Greek "telos" - fulfillment, result) proof of the existence of God in general terms has been known since antiquity, when Aristotle first noticed the presence in the body of some animals and in nature of clearly expressed expediencies. However, only modern discoveries in biology have indisputably proved the systemic nature of these teleological mechanisms and their necessity for the existence and survival of almost all types of living beings.

A variation of the activity of these mechanisms is, for example, the “pre-established harmony” of the development of various living organisms, which, even in the embryonic state, seem to know in advance what they will have to face after birth.

And - which Darwinian evolutionary theory is already completely unable to explain - studies of fossil organisms have shown that many of them have organs that anticipate external environmental conditions for millennia, organs that are absolutely useless under the actual conditions of existence of these animals, but will really be needed by this mind through hundreds of generations, when the conditions of existence will change radically!

A legitimate question arises, to which modern evolutionary theory has no answer: how can a mindless body have such amazing foreknowledge of future changes and how can it itself cause the required favorable mutations in itself ?!

This amazing fact clearly indicates the presence in the world of a definite and reasonable development program, that is, Providence, which is called the Providence of God.

7. The “transcendental” proof of the existence of the ideal world and God was partly discovered by Kant and can be represented as follows: there is a world outside of space and time - the spiritual world, the world of intellect, thought and free will - which is proved by the presence of thoughts in every person, which can refer to the past and the future, that is, "travel" to the past and the future, as well as instantly transported to any point in space.

Each of us, turning our consciousness to the source of our thoughts, can easily notice that they appear, as it were, from somewhere outside, the thought turns out to be a spiritual beam projected from somewhere, which illuminates material existence like a sunbeam - no way, no one and you never manage to cover it with your hand, it always ends up on top ...

Thus, a human thought, allegedly born in the brain, turns out to be both inside and outside of matter - it seems to arise due to neurophysiological processes in the brain tissues, surrounded by the bones of the skull, but, at the same time, fundamentally exists outside of any matter, outside of space and time.

Thanks to this, a person is clearly aware that he has a spiritual nature, which is fundamentally different from the physical world that surrounds him. But it follows from this that this other nature, this Spirit, the manifestation of which is man, also possesses both reason and free will - like man himself.

8. The following proof could probably be called "creationist" - it is based on the fact of the existence in nature of organisms and living systems that fundamentally cannot develop into a similar whole from parts in an evolutionary way, as Darwinism believes, but can only be created together as such an organic whole.

For example, the interconnected system of the heart, lungs and blood circulation in living beings can be attributed to them: it is impossible to imagine that at first, let’s say, only one blood circulation without a heart appeared, then the heart gradually “attached” to it and began to pump blood, and only after that lungs have just begun to develop.

9. Proof of the existence of God and the spiritual world from personal experience - most people have met in their lives with "strange" manifestations of the divine and superhuman: both beneficent, Divine, and malevolent, demonic, or, probably, most often, both together.

In order not to touch on many dubious "traditions of the deep antiquity", I will tell you about a case that happened to my colleague. He came from a believing family, but at one time he taught “scientific atheism” at a university for many years and, like most Soviet intellectuals, led a life that was by no means pious. After experiencing several personal tragedies, he realized the depravity of his life and decided to go to the temple.

“When the priest,” he told me, “read a prayer for remission of sins over my head, and I began to get on my feet, some unknown force suddenly began to throw me from side to side so that I could not stand on my feet: parishioners I was supported on both sides, my knees were shaking and, to top it off, I was suddenly seized by a strange weakness. So for the first time I felt on myself the demons that are in the sinner, he concluded.

Quite a few such examples could be cited.

10. Evidence from the existence of ALL nations and peoples ideas about God and superhuman powers in one form or another; if individual atheists are found among many peoples, then there are no "atheistic" nations on Earth.

11. Proof from faith in God of most of the outstanding geniuses of mankind. For example, the absolute majority of Nobel laureates.

It should also be remembered that all scientists who contributed to the emergence and development of modern science with their discoveries (Copernicus, Kepler, Newton, Boyle, Bacon, Pasteur, Einstein) believed in God.

So, the founder of modern chemistry Robert Boyle (1627-1691) began every day with a prayer; moreover, 2/3 of the income of his estate in Ireland went to help the poor and support the Church, and 1/3 to the spread of Christianity and missionary work among the Indians.

Francis Collins, one of the founders of genetics, said: “Whenever we learn something new about the human genome, every time I feel a sense of awe that humanity now knows something that only God knew until now. I do not believe that scientific research can somehow threaten God. On the contrary, I think that God only benefits from our curiosity.”

12. An undoubted proof of the existence of God is also the regular appearance in the history of mankind of great saints and religious figures who directly have spiritual revelations from above and thereby testify to His existence.

These are not only such prophets as, for example, Moses, Isaiah, Ezekiel, who constantly communicated with God, but also the righteous, who illuminated and directed the lives of people with their light at all times.

Perhaps it will be enough to simply remind the reader of such great Russian saints as John of Kronstadt to understand that God still addresses us as often now as in distant biblical times - if only there were eyes to see and ears to hear.

God is always with us, it is we who, due to our weakness, either move away, or again try to return to Him.

13. Proof by contradiction: the tragic fate of the projects (and often their own lives and fates) of prominent atheists. The most striking example here may be the example of the “Lenin-Stalin case” and their followers, who for the first time in history tried to build an atheistic state on a “scientific basis” both on the territory of Russia and other countries of Europe and Asia.

For example, the fate of the best materialist philosopher of the USSR, Evald Vasilyevich Ilyenkov, the son of a famous Soviet writer, laureate of the Stalin Prize in literature, turned out to be tragic. All his life justifying the atheistic thesis about the “self-development of matter”, which does not need any spiritual foundation for its existence, Evald Vasilyevich could not find moral support anywhere in the Soviet atheistic reality, fell into a deep depression and committed suicide ...

14. Widely known is the "ethical proof" of the existence of the supersensible world, which proceeds from the objective existence of morality and ethical laws that regulate the behavior of human beings.

The studies of many philosophers indicate that events and environmental influences can only to a certain extent predetermine the behavior of people and force them to do certain actions: no matter how strong the pressure from the outside, a person always has the opportunity to break the causal relationship, which unreasonable nature obeys and act like a free being, that is, like a being of another, unearthly world!

To illustrate this, a simple example can be given: why do some people give alms, while others do not? It would seem that the latter act quite logically and reasonably - why part with your funds, money, knowing that you will not receive any compensation ?!

So what compels the former to still give alms, sometimes even on a significant scale? In the physical world, in nature, there is nothing that could explain such "illogical" behavior - this explanation lies outside of this, in the supersensible world, where there are great moral ideas of love, kindness and mercy.

The famous reasoning of Immanuel Kant, who clearly showed that a person in his actions and actions is guided by values that do not belong to the material world, belongs to the same type of evidence for the existence of God.

15. The proof of the existence of God under the name “aesthetic argument” has also become widespread, which says: in nature there is an amazing supernatural beauty of the starry sky, sunsets and sunrises, the Northern Lights, harmonious pictures of nature, the perfect arrangement of the beautiful bodies of living beings, etc. , which seems to be specially designed for the aesthetic pleasure of a rational being - a person - because there is simply no one besides him in nature itself to contemplate it.

The already mentioned Robert Boyle was so in awe of the beauty of nature that he often said: “When I study the book of nature ... I am often forced to exclaim with the psalmist: Oh, how diverse are Your creations, Lord, in Your wisdom You created them all!”

16. The proof of the existence of God “from the real to absolute perfection”, it was put forward by Thomas Aquinas: in nature there is a clearly observed gradation of perfection within different types of being, which can be understood only in the presence of an absolutely perfect Being, that is, God.

This proof may seem rather complicated at first, but a simple example will help to understand its essence: if you have a ruler, say, 30 centimeters long, and your colleague has 50 cm, if there are rolled meters and other measuring instruments, then all this exists only because the dimension of space (its extension in different directions) and the idea of length really exist.

In the same way, similar examples could be given with measures of weight, time, etc. But in nature, more complex types of gradations are also observed, among which a unique place belongs to the “ascending ladder” of perfection both in inanimate and living nature, and in human society, as well as among people themselves: there are, for example, crooked and ugly trees, there are ordinary, unremarkable ones, there are “simply” beautiful ones, but there are also unusually beautiful, perfect specimens. And so it is not only among different types of trees, but also among different species of fish, animals, within human races, and so on. – everywhere you can find more and less perfect individuals. But these different degrees of perfection in inanimate nature (for example, among stones!), between separate types of objects, living beings, etc., could not exist if there were no really existing measure of absolute perfection for them, which, however, we do not find in the material world, but which cannot but exist, and this perfection is God!
This is the essence of this proof.

Thus, we see that no matter where and how we begin to consider the world around man, all roads inevitably lead to the One who created and adorned him, Who constantly supports and guides him, and without Whom he could not exist even for a moment. - to God.

An absolute shock to the scientific world was the speech of the famous philosophy professor Anthony Flew. The scientist, who is now well over 80, has been one of the pillars of scientific atheism for many years. For decades, Flue has published books and lectured on the thesis that belief in God is unjustified.

However, a series of recent scientific discoveries has forced the great advocate of atheism to change his views.

British physicist Martin John Rees, who won this year's Templeton Prize, believes that the universe is a very complex thing. The scientist, who has more than 500 scientific papers to his credit, received $1.4 million for proving the existence of the Creator. Although the physicist himself is an atheist, the Correspondent adds.

The existence of God has been proven by scientific methods, said the director of the International Institute for
theoretical and applied physics, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Anatoly Akimov, INTERFAX reports.

Moreover, before the time of Isaac Newton, the separation between science and religion did not exist, priests were engaged in science, since they were the most educated people. Newton himself had a theological education and often repeated: "I derive the laws of mechanics from the laws of God."

When about 300 years ago, scientists invented a microscope and began to study what was happening inside the cell, the processes of duplication and division of chromosomes caused them a stunning reaction: “How can this be if all this was not provided by the Almighty ?!”

“Indeed,” added A. Akimov, “if we talk about the fact that a person appeared on Earth as a result of evolution, then, taking into account the frequency of mutations and the speed of biochemical processes, it would take much more time to create a person from primary cells than the age of the Universe itself” .

In addition, he continued, calculations were made that showed that the number of quantum elements in the volume of the radio observable Universe cannot be less than 10155 and it cannot but have superintelligence.
“If all this is a single system, then, considering it as a computer, we ask: what is beyond the power of a computing system with so many elements? These are unlimited possibilities, more than the most sophisticated and modern computer by an incommensurable number of times!” - emphasized the scientist.

In his opinion, what various philosophers called the Universal Mind, the Absolute, is the superpowerful system that we identify with the potentialities of the Almighty.

“No, I just realized that it cannot not be!” - answered the scientist.

Does God really exist?

About, does God exist, you can argue a lot and for a long time. There are many opinions on this matter, but everyone understands them differently, so disagreements may arise. The traditional answer to this question is to explain the phenomena of nature as events subject to the mind of the Creator.

It is worth imagining at what high level the cells that make up all living things are created. This design is far superior in complexity to the most extraordinary skyscraper. Based on even such small arguments, one can understand that everything that surrounds us in this world did not just appear out of nowhere.

When atheists talk with believers about whether God exists, one often hears, as a reproach, a provocative question that you are talking about God, but you yourself have never seen Him.

And indeed - in order to convince a person of the existence of someone or something, the simplest thing will be to show him this. Christians see the manifestation of God in everything that surrounds them.

The fact is that everyone is free to choose any religion or not to choose it at all. But if you ask a Christian about the existence of God, you will immediately hear an affirmative answer. These people firmly believe that illnesses and trials are sent to develop spirituality and strengthen faith.

Why do Christians so confidently know the answer to the question of whether God exists? From the Lives of the Saints. This is one of the reasons for their confidence. The lives of the saints have long been a favorite reading of Orthodox people. Children read lives from early childhood, thus learning to read and write and perceiving the example of the life of holy people.

The righteous had great faith, for which they often went to torment and death. Information about this has come down to our times thanks to the records of witnesses of that time. The miracles that the saints showed and continue to show still remain evidence of the existence of God and His special attitude towards those who love Him.

About, does God exist and what faith is true, an event that takes place once a year at the site of the Holy Sepulcher testifies. On Easter Day, many people of different faiths gather in the temple. An Orthodox priest is allowed to the place of the Coffin, who is first checked for the presence of flammable substances.

The priest prays until midnight, and at that moment the candles themselves ignite, he distributes this fire to everyone present in the temple. For the first few seconds, the fire has healing properties and does not burn the body. Taking advantage of this, believers apply it to diseased parts of the body in order to be healed ... Many Christians consider this fact sufficient to prove that God exists.
