Composition and form of release

The drug De-nol is available in tablet form, the active ingredient is bismuth tripotassium dicitrate. The drug also contains a number of excipients.

The color of the tablets is white with a creamy tint, their shape is convex.

Each blister contains 8 tablets, the package contains 7 or 14 blisters.

Medicinal properties

De-nol is classified as an antiulcer drug, its bactericidal effect is directed towards pathogenic microorganisms of the genus Helicobacter pylori. The drug has an astringent and anti-inflammatory effect, like Almagel. The acidic environment present in the stomach contributes to the precipitation of the active substance. In this case, the formation of special compounds, represented by a thin film, which has protective properties, occurs. Due to this, the surface of existing erosions and ulcers is covered. The active substance of the drug promotes increased mucus formation and the production of bicarbonate, there is an increased activity of cytoprotective mechanisms, as a result of which the gastrointestinal mucosa becomes resistant to secrets.

The bismuth-based drug is almost not absorbed by the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract. The excretion process is carried out mainly by the intestines. The residual amount of the active ingredient that entered the plasma is already excreted in the urine.

Mode of application

Drugs are prescribed for therapeutic therapy for both adults and children, starting from the age of 12 on a tablet 4 times throughout the day half an hour before meals, De-nol is also drunk at night. You can drink the medicine according to another scheme: twice a day, 2 tablets for 30 minutes. before meals.

The calculation of the daily dosage for children 4-8 years old is based on body weight (8 mg - 1 kg). The daily dose is divided into 2 doses, it is recommended to drink De-nol before meals (about 30 minutes before).

How much to drink the drug De-nol is individually determined by the doctor, but basically the course of treatment lasts from 4 to 8 weeks. For the next 2 months after treatment, it is necessary to exclude the use of drugs containing bismuth.

De-nol for gastritis and pancreatitis is prescribed according to the standard scheme. How to take De-nol in acute or chronic pancreatitis, you should check with your doctor, perhaps a course of treatment in combination with other antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs will be recommended. After that, you can draw conclusions about how the drug helps in the treatment of the disease.

The drug can be used to prevent frequent manifestations of inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. The method of using De-nol for prevention purposes is best agreed with your doctor.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding

De-nol during pregnancy is not prescribed. If it is necessary to carry out drug therapy during lactation, it is worth deciding on the completion of breastfeeding.

Contraindications

There are a number of contraindications to taking drugs:

  • Oversensitivity to bismuth
  • Kidney dysfunction
  • Children's age (up to 4 years).

There are no other contraindications to taking De-nol.

Precautionary measures

Drug therapy should not last longer than 2 months.

It is necessary to adhere to the treatment regimen indicated by the doctor and not to exceed the recommended dosages.

It should be borne in mind that De-nol and alcohol are incompatible.

During the use of the drug, there may be changes in the color of the tongue and black stools. Such signs arise due to the formation of bismuth sulfide. The subsequent reaction with hydrogen sulfide causes a change in the color of the feces, which explains the observed black stool.

Interaction with other drugs

If you simultaneously take De-nol with food and drinks, there is a decrease in its effectiveness.

It is better not to take drugs with tetracyclines, although full compatibility is observed, this is due to a decrease in the absorption of the latter.

There are no data on interaction with other drugs.

Side effects

De-nol can cause the development of adverse reactions, which are manifested by such signs:

  • From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea or vomiting, frequent stools, constipation
  • Skin manifestations: rash, as well as itching.

After prolonged use of the drug in high doses, encephalopathy can be diagnosed, which is associated with excessive accumulation of bismuth in the body, directly in the central nervous system.

Overdose

Treatment in this case involves the procedure for cleansing the stomach along with the use of laxatives and sorbents. More often, symptomatic therapy can be carried out.

If a high plasma level of bismuth is diagnosed with observed renal dysfunction, there is a need to administer chelating agents. In some cases, hemodialysis is indicated.

Terms and conditions of storage

De-nol must be stored at t - 15 - 25 ° C. The drug is valid for 4 years from the date of production.

De-Nol package contains 56 tablets

De-Nol is one of the most effective drugs known to me used in the treatment of chronic gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, and as evidenced by the attached instructions for its use and in the complex therapy of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with a predominance of diarrhea. Judging by the reviews, it is also used in the treatment of mixed IBS, the main cause of which is chronic gastritis and gastroduodenitis.

The active ingredient of the drug is bismuth, or rather, tripotassium bismuth dicitrate. Previously, in the days of the USSR, either this drug was not produced, or it was simply not available for sale due to widespread shortages, but older people successfully treated their ulcers with inexpensive analogues of de-nol: vikalin and vikair, bismuth preparations, as before present in the pharmacy sale at the present time. Unlike the expensive de-nol, the price of which exceeds 500 rubles. for packaging, they are much cheaper.

In chronic gastritis, the surface of the stomach loses its protective barrier (local immunity) in the form of a special layer of mucus. An unprotected stomach becomes very sensitive to food, especially non-diet food. There are characteristic pains and other symptoms of gastritis or ulcers. In order to cure chronic gastritis, it is necessary to restore this protective layer artificially before restoring your own, using the healing properties of medical drugs for this. Among them, the most famous are: smecta, almagel, phosphalugel and many others. De-Nol also refers to those drugs that form a protective film on the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum. But the mechanism of formation and the properties of the formed film are fundamentally different.

1. A protective film is formed only in an acidic environment, unlike other drugs, i.e. where it is needed. When interacting with the acidic contents of the stomach, locally, on the surface of erosions of the stomach and ulcers, the active substance of the drug, together with the protein substrate, form special chelate protective compounds. The artificial protective barrier formed by de-nol reduces the susceptibility of the gastrointestinal mucosa to the effects of not only hydrochloric acid, but also to the produced pepsin, bile acids and other digestive enzymes of the body.

Composition and price of De-Nol

2. The high efficiency of de-nol lies in its double action, it eliminates gastritis and ulcers with a "doublet". In addition to the formation of a protective film, de-nol eliminates one of the main factors in the formation of a defect in the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum - it inhibits the reproduction of the Helicobacter pylori bacterium. As a rule, this bacterium is detected in the majority of patients with the above diseases. In addition to the bactericidal properties of the active substance against Helicobacter pylori, the drug also has the ability to stimulate local immunity of the mucous membranes of the stomach and duodenum, enhance the formation of their own protective mucus.

Venter (Sucralfate) is a drug similar in action to de-nol. It also forms a protective film localized on ulcers and erosions of the stomach. The only difference is the main active ingredient, which is aluminum salts. It seemed to me less effective in the treatment of gastritis than de-nol. This is most likely due to the fact that it lacks bactericidal properties against Helicobacter pylori bacteria. Apparently, this is not only my opinion, because it is becoming less and less common in the pharmacy network. Apparently, the demand for it is falling. And the list of side effects and contraindications indicated in the instructions significantly exceeds the list of the above de-nol. Although the effect of treatment is still there, besides, the main advantage of the Venter is its low price.

Since bismuth is a toxic element, according to the instructions for the use of the drug, its use is not recommended for more than 8 weeks. In order to avoid the accumulation of bismuth salts in the body after the course of taking de-nol, a break is necessary during which the use of other drugs containing bismuth (vikalin, vikair, etc.) is not allowed.

As you know, the gastric mucosa is restored within about two weeks. In this regard, for successful treatment using this drug, it is important to exclude such harmful factors as alcohol, nicotine and any caffeinated drinks (tea, coffee, various colas). Taking de-nol, if present, will not give a sufficient effect of restoring your own mucous membrane of the stomach or duodenum, and with mixed irritable bowel syndrome, it can shift the symptoms towards the formation of intestinal constipation.

The drug is incompatible with dairy products. De-Nol and dairy products must be taken at different times (different hours).

Among the huge number of drugs that are presented on the Russian market, it is difficult to find drugs that do not cause side effects. Despite the achievements of modern pharmaceuticals, almost all drugs, even if taken correctly and the dosage is observed, can cause some harm to the patient's body. However, it is impossible to do without medications at all, because in a number of diseases it is required to carry out therapy as quickly as possible.

The list of such problems is quite wide, and diseases of the stomach and duodenum occupy not the last place in it. When making such diagnoses, the doctor usually prescribes a course of treatment with De-Nol. This drug is considered one of the most effective and safe. Of course, this statement is true only if all medical recommendations issued simultaneously with the appointment are observed. However, most patients still have many questions regarding this drug. How many days does the course of treatment with De-Nol last for a stomach ulcer? How to take pills correctly? How often to repeat the course "De-Nol"? Is it normal for side effects to occur during treatment? What is the optimal course of "De-Nol" for gastritis?

Judging by the above questions, most often patients are trying to find out details about the duration of treatment. It is this topic that we will cover in the article. Readers will draw from it all the information they are interested in about the De-Nol treatment course. We will also briefly describe the drug itself and note all the features of its administration.

General characteristics of the drug

As soon as the doctor, after the treatment, diagnoses the patient with an "ulcer" or "gastritis", he will most likely immediately prescribe a course of treatment with De-Nol. How much to drink pills and how to do it, the doctor usually tells right there in the office, but he does not give a description of the medicine. Although this information is very useful for patients.

So, first of all, it is worth understanding that this drug is one of the most powerful. In addition, it allows you to comprehensively approach the problem, and this already makes it possible to prescribe a simplified scheme and course of treatment. Many patients confuse "De-Nol" and "Omez" with each other, considering them to be equivalent drugs and replacing them at will. However, this cannot be done, since the tool we are describing is unique in many respects.

How many days the course of treatment "De-Nol" lasts for gastritis and ulcers, we will tell a little later. Now let's find out what this drug is. The drug has both healing and antiseptic properties, which makes it indispensable in the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. It also has astringent properties that help the drug to cope with diseases more effectively. In addition, the course of treatment with "De-Nol" relieves the patient of Helicobacter pylori, which is the culprit of peptic ulcer. A huge plus of the drug is the fact that it does not apply to antibiotics. And therefore, will not cause serious side effects inherent in this group of funds.

I would like to mention that even with a long course of taking De-Nol, Helicobacter pylori cannot develop resistance to the drug. The drug is equally effective in primary and secondary treatment. Such characteristics are rarely combined in one drug.

Release form of the drug

Before starting a course of treatment with De-Nol for gastritis or peptic ulcer, you need to protect yourself from fakes. To do this, you need to study how the tablets should look.

The manufacturer produces the drug only in the form of tablets. They have a biconvex shape and are film-coated. Usually the color of the tablets is close to light cream, but slight deviations towards darker or lighter shades are also allowed.

The pills are very well protected from counterfeiting due to embossing. It is applied on both sides and consists of an inscription and a graphic drawing. Some patients who underwent a course of treatment with De-Nol complained of an unpleasant odor coming from the tablets. Pharmacists note that this is the norm. Original tablets may not emit a very pronounced smell of ammonia.

The manufacturer packs the drug in cardboard boxes. Each contains several blisters. They contain eight tablets. On average, from seven to fourteen blisters are invested in a pack. The maximum number of tablets in a package is one hundred and twelve.

Depending on the neglect and nature of the course of the disease, the doctor may prescribe both a minimum course of treatment with De-Nol and a maximum course with a possible repetition in a few months. Focusing on this, the patient has the opportunity to calculate in advance which package of tablets he will need.

The composition of the drug and dosage

Often, patients with peptic ulcer and gastritis try to independently compare De-Nol and Omez with each other. Treatment regimens and the course of taking these medications, however, vary greatly. And this is not surprising, because despite the fact that the drugs have similar indications for use, they contain different active ingredients.

"De-Nol" consists of active and additional substances. Bismuth oxide belongs to the first category. It is this substance that provides a wide therapeutic effect that the drug has. It is in each tablet 120 milligrams.

Auxiliary components are selected and included in the composition of the drug in order to contribute to the rapid absorption of the active substance in the gastrointestinal tract. This group of components includes:

  • corn starch;
  • povidone;
  • magnesium stearate;
  • potassium polyacrylate.

In addition, it is necessary to mention the components that make up the film shell of the tablets:

  • macrogol;
  • hypromellose.

All excipients are in the drug in small quantities.

Indications for taking tablets

In almost one hundred percent of cases, the doctor prescribes a course of treatment with De-Nol for stomach ulcers and gastritis. However, these are not the only indications for taking this drug. The list of health problems that pills effectively cope with is quite voluminous:

  • peptic ulcer of the duodenum in different stages of the course;
  • gastroduodenitis;
  • irritable bowel syndrome (including with diarrhea as one of the symptoms);
  • dyspepsia;
  • peptic ulcer of the stomach;
  • peptic ulcer of the duodenum;
  • damage to the gastric mucosa.

Most often, the last of these problems occurs with long-term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

The action of the drug

The spectrum of action of the tablets is quite wide, therefore, with peptic ulcer and gastritis, the course of treatment with De-Nol is so effective. Even after the initial intake, the drug forms a protective film that envelops the inner walls of the stomach. At the same time, it very effectively neutralizes Helicobacter pylori.

In parallel, the drug helps to normalize the acid-base balance, improve blood circulation in the stomach, and accelerate metabolic processes. It is also noticed that during the treatment process the rate of regeneration of damaged tissues increases.

Doctors say that the already damaged gastric mucosa is actively destroyed by the pepsin produced by the body. Its concentration is significantly reduced after a course of treatment with De-Nol (and Omez, by the way, you can achieve a similar effect).

It is impossible not to mention that the drug acts as a means to strengthen the immune system. It has been proven that a decrease in its activity creates all the conditions for the penetration of Helicobacter pylori into the body. The more reduced the immune system, the more the harmful bacterium penetrates. Initially, it manifests itself as a symptom of gastritis, then it becomes the cause of ulcers on the mucosa. And at this stage, it can already threaten the patient with oncology.

The mechanism of action of tablets on the causative agent of peptic ulcer

Readers have already learned from our article that De-Nol treats. The course of treatment with this drug successfully neutralizes Helicobacter pylori.

The mechanism of action of the drug on this harmful microorganism is quite simple. When taking the drug, the action is directly on the cell walls of the bacteria. They begin to break down, and as a result of this process, irreversible changes occur in the cytoplasm of the microorganism. After a while, he dies.

It is noteworthy that the active substance of the drug is able to penetrate into the deepest tissues and restore them. The moment of lack of addiction to pills is very important, even with prolonged use. Helicobacter bacteria cannot adapt to the components of the drug, so it is effective even with a repeated course.

Contraindications

Do not forget that De-Nol is not suitable for all patients, despite its high performance. Some health problems can be an obstacle to taking it. However, their list is limited to only a few items:

  • Reception of other means containing bismuth. This substance tends to accumulate in the body, so there should be a break of at least three to four months between therapeutic courses.
  • Childhood. Usually, a child under the age of fourteen is not prescribed De-Nol. But there are exceptions to this rule: in especially difficult cases, the doctor can prescribe this medicine to a baby from four years old. This can be done as part of complex therapy together with two antibiotics. Moreover, the course of treatment with De-Nol (such situations are not specified in the instructions for use) should be minimal.
  • Pregnancy and lactation. Women who are expecting a baby should avoid taking this drug. Its active substance has a negative effect on the fetus, as a result, the child may be born with serious pathologies. During lactation, "De-Nol" is also contraindicated. Its components very easily penetrate into breast milk and disrupt the functioning of the urinary and nervous systems of the crumbs. The result of such treatment of the mother can be very deplorable for the baby.
  • An allergic reaction to bismuth is uncommon, but it can still happen. Therefore, people prone to allergies should not drink De-Nol. Doctors do not prescribe it even with individual intolerance to any components of the drug.
  • The drug is categorically contraindicated in kidney diseases of a different nature and severity of the course.

The instructions for the tablets indicate that they should not be taken by people with problems associated with liver disease. In these cases, treatment can aggravate them and be supplemented by a number of side effects.

The drug "De-Nol". What course of treatment is considered optimal

The attending physician prescribes the drug to persons suffering from diseases of the digestive tract. However, they must definitely be over fourteen years old. The scheme of admission is only a doctor, it is categorically contraindicated to do it without permission. The specialist takes into account all the nuances of the course of the disease: its stage, severity, age of the patient, and the like.

On average, no more than four tablets of the drug are prescribed per day. Moreover, they should be taken at regular intervals. Depending on the treatment regimen, the doctor may divide the daily dosage into two or four doses.

The standard course of treatment involves a regimen in which the patient drinks one tablet four times a day. The first three doses take place before breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the last - at night. It is important to take the tablets thirty minutes before meals on a completely empty stomach. This concept includes not only the absence of food in it, but also liquid.

An alternative course of treatment is prescribed for other diseases. In this case, it is shown to take "De-Nol" two tablets twice a day - before breakfast and dinner. It is important to observe an interval of twelve hours between doses of the medicine.

The drug is required to drink only clean water. Juices, teas and other drinks, reacting with the components of the drug, disrupt the absorption of the drug and its mechanism of action.

It should be borne in mind that the tablets should not be chewed, broken or taken in parts.

The minimum course of therapy is one month, but often doctors advise that with obvious improvements in the condition, accompanied by the neutralization of unpleasant symptoms, stop treatment.

The longest course of "De-Nol" cannot be more than two months of continuous use. If during this period of time the stabilization of the condition has not occurred, then the next time you can start drinking the medicine only after a sixty-day interval

It should be borne in mind that the patient should not take other drugs containing bismuth in their composition. This substance gives the effect of accumulation in the central nervous system, which negatively affects its work.

Features of treatment

"De-Nol" is a fairly powerful drug, so some simple rules must be followed when taking it.

Patients should know that the drug is most effective when no food and liquid enters the stomach thirty minutes before the tablet enters the body and thirty minutes after that. The fact is that for the splitting of tablets, a large amount of gastric juice is required.

With vegetovascular dystonia, it is necessary to undergo the most minimal course of taking De-Nol. If this recommendation is not followed, the patient's condition will worsen due to regular headaches and dizziness.

Keep in mind that bismuth, which is the active ingredient of the drug, has the effect of turning feces black. Despite the fact that this reaction is natural, it must be reported to the attending physician.

If you notice a general deterioration in your condition in the first week of treatment, then perhaps these are side effects of the drug, which means that the course of treatment needs to be stopped.

A few words about side effects

If we analyze all the possible negative reactions of the body to taking pills, then most often they occur from the gastrointestinal tract. The main symptoms are nausea, vomiting, violation of daily stools (constipation, diarrhea, increased bowel movements, and so on). Flatulence is also possible, accompanying the patient throughout the day. In some cases, there is a decrease in appetite and a change in taste preferences. Sometimes in the course of treatment there is a persistent taste of metal in the oral cavity. The color of the tongue in many patients changes to dark brown after the first days of taking the tablets. All of these reactions are considered symptoms of the body's adaptation to bismuth. They usually go away on their own in one to two weeks.

Allergy is a good reason to stop treatment. This effect is manifested by skin itching, rashes on the skin and swelling of the tissues. Such symptoms should be reported to the doctor. After examining the patient, he must decide whether to cancel or change the treatment regimen.

A long course of treatment is possible only under medical supervision. It is prescribed in very rare cases, since the risk of side effects increases several times. In addition, many of them are hazardous to health. Such reactions include nephropathy, encephalopathy, gingivitis, and so on. Often, prolonged use of "De-Nol" is the cause of the development of colitis and arthralgia in patients.

Overdose. How to define it

Having started taking De-Nol, it is important to understand that an overdose of it is extremely dangerous. It causes irreversible changes in the body. Among them, acute renal failure can be distinguished, which in parallel leads to high slagging and increased pressure.

The most dangerous violations of the functions of the brain. Initially, the patient feels only weakness, then insomnia is added to it. If the drug is not stopped, the treatment can be fatal.

Disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, which have become chronic, are also one of the results of an overdose of De-Nol.

It should be borne in mind that an overdose of the drug occurs at such rates as one hundred milligrams of bismuth per liter of blood. This can only be determined in the laboratory.

Patients need to know that there is no antidote for bismuth. Therefore, as an emergency aid for overdose, doctors use gastric lavage and adsorbents. In severe cases, urgent hemodialysis is required.

How to drink De nol, how effective is it? This question is of interest to those who suffer from stomach diseases.

There are many factors that negatively affect human health. Due to malnutrition, frequent stress, lack of sleep, a person begins to feel pain in the stomach. In this case, De Nol tablets will help to cope with the discomfort.

Composition and pharmacokinetics

De Nol is a new generation antibiotic that destroys pathogenic microbes. Produced in the form of oval tablets, coated with a fast-dissolving shell. The main producer is the Netherlands. The protective properties of this drug, which contains bismuth tripotassium dicitrate, have proven themselves well. The mechanism of action of the drug is as follows: the tablet enters the stomach and the sore spots are covered with a thin film and heal quickly.

As a result, the tissues of the stomach receive protection from the acidic environment, enzymes produced as a result of digestion, bacteria (they become the cause of the progression of gastritis and ulcers). The active substance is completely excreted from the body along with feces and slightly through the kidneys (if bismuth is in the blood plasma).

De Nol is included in the complex treatment regimen. It is prescribed to those patients who have impaired functions of the gastrointestinal tract, with peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, gastritis, dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome. You can drink de-nol for those who want to get rid of heartburn with low stomach acidity, cholecystitis, colitis, and other ailments.

Any ailment requires proper treatment, depending on this, the course of treatment, the dosage of the drug are determined.

Application for diseases of the stomach

With a stomach ulcer, the Helicobacter bacterium makes a person suffer. These harmful microorganisms increase the acidity of gastric juice. While in the body, they may not manifest themselves for quite a long time. Until the immune system fails, which can provoke:

  • transferred illness;
  • antibiotic;
  • avitaminosis;
  • stressful conditions;
  • bad habits (alcohol, smoking);
  • unbalanced diet;
  • hereditary factors.

Symptoms of stomach ulcer:

  • constantly experienced pain (may intensify in autumn and spring);
  • vomiting with a sour taste;
  • heartburn.

With an ulcer, pain usually appears during or after eating. In a hungry state, the stomach calms down. To get rid of discomfort, drink a glass of milk or eat light porridge. To reduce acidity, they drink baking soda, which relieves pain in case of an ulcer. You can greatly improve your condition if you take De nol, after consulting with your doctor.

The formation of a duodenal ulcer also occurs from exposure to Helicobacter bacteria. The risk group includes:

  • those in whose family someone suffered from this disease;
  • drinking a lot of coffee;
  • heavy smokers;
  • alcoholics;
  • those who do not eat properly;
  • often experiencing nervous strain;
  • patients with gastritis.

Symptoms of the disease:

  • stabbing or cutting pain;
  • nausea, sometimes with vomiting;
  • bloating or constipation;
  • loss of appetite.

The doctor will send you for an examination. And if it turns out that the cause of the ulcer is Helicobacter bacteria, then Denol will help solve the problem.

De nol helps with gastritis. With this disease, the mucous membrane of the stomach becomes inflamed, as a result, an imbalance occurs in its work, the digestibility of food is disturbed. As a result, a person loses weight, loses the energy necessary for a full life.

Causes of the disease:

  • preference for spicy food;
  • passion for alcoholic beverages;
  • nervous tension;
  • lack of diet.

Gastritis makes itself felt with pain when a person goes without food for a long time. Sometimes pain in the abdomen begins to bother after eating. The disease may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, intestinal disorders.

Symptoms of an acute form of gastritis:

  • strong pain;
  • nausea after eating;
  • heartburn;
  • vomiting with mucus;
  • excessive salivation;
  • diarrhea or constipation;
  • chills and high fever;
  • cardiopalmus;
  • increased sweating and weakness.

In this case, you should definitely see a doctor who will determine how to take de-nol for gastritis and prescribe a course of treatment.

Required dosage

When and in what doses to take Denol is determined by the gastroenterologist. According to the instructions that are attached to the drug, usually adults and children from the age of 14 drink Denola tablets 2 times, 2 pcs. or 4 times 1 pc.

Drink De nol should be half an hour before meals. Eating 3 times a day, the patient drinks 3 tablets before meals before eating, drinks 1 tablet at night. Another option is to take 2 tablets before breakfast and before dinner. The tablet should not be chewed, it should be swallowed with non-carbonated water. Milk, coffee, tea are not suitable for this, as there is a risk of a negative effect on the effectiveness of the drug.

The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease. The course of treatment usually lasts no more than 2 months, after this period the drug should not be taken.

After taking the drug, it is better to suspend the use of other drugs containing bismuth for 2 months.

An overdose is possible if the drug was taken in large doses or for a long time. In this case, the function of the kidneys is impaired. To get rid of the identified symptoms, it is enough to stop the drug.

First aid for overdose - gastric lavage, activated charcoal and saline laxatives.

In the future, symptomatic therapy will be needed. If the examination shows a high level of bismuth in the blood, the doctor will prescribe a complex treatment. With a pronounced character resort to hemodialysis. Any manifestation of symptoms of an overdose is a signal for drug withdrawal.

The interaction of Denol with other drugs is not excluded. Half an hour before taking the drug and after half an hour after taking other drugs are not useful. This rule also applies to food and drink. It is recommended at this time not to drink milk, juices, not to eat fruits. This will help to avoid imbalance in the gastrointestinal tract.

If the stomach is treated, then sour dishes will not be useful. Harmful food will nullify the beneficial effect of the medicine. Therefore, before taking Denol, it is wise to discuss with your doctor what drugs and products you can use during treatment. After all, any excellent medicine, if taken incorrectly, will not give a positive result, and can even harm the body.

Contraindications and side effects of the drug

Before you start taking De-nol for gastritis and other ailments, you need to find out who this drug is not suitable for.

You should be wary if there are such factors:

  • individual intolerance to the drug;
  • impaired renal function;
  • During pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Failure to comply with the rules for taking the drug can lead to serious health problems, and in case of pregnancy, there is a threat to the normal functioning of the internal organs of the unborn baby. You should not decide on your own how to take the pills. Only a specialist can determine the dosage, taking into account the individual characteristics of the patient. It will also be necessary to find out if there will be problems with the absorption of the drug by the body.

Side effects can manifest themselves in the form of an allergic reaction and disorders of the digestive system.

Allergy is indicated by a rash on the skin, itching. In this case, you need to see a doctor who will decide to change the dosage downward or suggest another antibiotic. Unpleasant symptoms after taking the medication are not excluded - nausea, vomiting, frequent stools or constipation. These negative effects will soon pass. If this does not happen, then the medicine is not suitable and you should stop treating it. With prolonged uncontrolled use of the drug, the destruction of nerve cells develops, which leads to encephalopathy. The reason is the accumulation of bismuth compounds in the tissues of the nervous system.

Storage rules

Only a dry place is suitable for storing the drug, where the sun's rays do not fall, the temperature in the room should not exceed 25 ° C, otherwise the medicine may soon become unusable.

It should be borne in mind that storage in a refrigerator, in a damp room can affect the loss of the properties of the drug. It is best to keep De nol in a special first aid kit, which will be out of the reach of children.

It is necessary to pay attention to the appearance of the tablets. There should be no mechanical damage, punctures, otherwise it is better not to use such medicine. A change in color and smell can also indicate non-compliance with storage conditions, so these tablets are also not suitable for oral administration. In general, De nol does not require special storage conditions. It is important to maintain the temperature regime.

Keep in mind that the shelf life of the tablets is determined at 48 months.

Denol is the most effective drug in the treatment of stomach ulcers and helps to cope with chronic gastritis. An important condition is complex treatment. Be sure to consult a gastroenterologist before drinking the drug and in no case self-medicate.

Pathology of the digestive tract is one of the most common problems among mankind. From gastritis and peptic ulcer mainly middle-aged people suffer. Pathologies are caused by various factors of aggression. They act from the outside and from the inside, and with a decrease in the body's defenses, an inflammatory process occurs. For the treatment of this condition, there is a special scheme, and you can choose it for each individually. Basically, several drugs are combined. You need to know how to take "Phosphalugel" and "De-nol" together, as they are considered the main ones in the fight against the disease.

These drugs are taken alone or in combination, which enhances the therapeutic effect. Before understanding their work, it is necessary to understand how they act individually and in a complex manner. How to take Phosphalugel and De-nol together can be found in the annotation attached to the drugs.

Indications for the appointment of the drug "De-nol"

There is a certain number of indications for prescribing a drug for lesions of the digestive tract. These include:

  • ulcers of the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines;
  • gastritis in exacerbation with different acidity;
  • heartburn;
  • dyspeptic condition;
  • dyspepsia not associated with an ulcer;
  • reflux gastritis;
  • functional lesions of the digestive tract.

The course of treatment for each patient is individual. It is allowed to combine the means "De-nol" and "Phosphalugel" (drugs and the scheme are set depending on the indications, the degree of damage to the digestive tract).

The use of the drug "De-nol" separately from other means

The drug is classified as an astringent. Bismuth subcitrate is the basis in the treatment of diseases of the digestive tract. "De-nol" creates a protective film against hydrochloric acid and other aggressive factors. It is produced in tablets that are taken orally. With exacerbation of gastritis and ulcers, the remedy shows a high level of effectiveness. "De-nol" is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome. Patients with a functional dyspeptic state take a drug showing a good result in relation to the disease.

  • yersinia;
  • rotoviruses;
  • clostridia;
  • coli;
  • shigella.

The drug creates a certain barrier not only in the way of bacteria, but also protection against the penetration of toxic substances. They can enter the body from the outside in the form of drugs (cytostatic substances and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), alcoholic beverages.

Rules for taking the drug "De-nol"

People over 12 years old can take the medication no more than 4 times a day, 1 tablet. You only need to drink it with water. The drug is taken 30 minutes before meals and at bedtime. In exceptional cases, which are associated with the patient's condition, the gastroenterologist prescribes 2 tablets of the drug "De-nol" at the same time. Children are prescribed an individual dosage.

Indications for the appointment of the drug "Phosphalugel"

The spectrum of indications for the use of the drug is very similar to when it is necessary to use De-nol. Therefore, they can be combined in a scheme for such pathologies as:

  • peptic ulcer;
  • diaphragmatic hernia;
  • dyspepsia of various origins;
  • reflux esophagitis;
  • diarrhea unrelated to peptic ulcer disease of the digestive tract.

Before starting treatment, you need to read the annotation in order to know how to take De-nol with Phosphalugel. Dosage and frequency of administration is set depending on the indications and severity of the patient's condition.

The use of the drug "Phosphalugel" separately from other means

The drug is available in the form of a gel. The main active ingredients in the fight against the inflammatory process of the digestive tract are:

  • agar-agar;
  • aluminum phosphate;
  • sorbitol;
  • pectin.

Due to the adsorbing, enveloping ability, the drug protects the mucous membrane from the aggressive influence of hydrochloric acid. Chronic gastritis "De-nol", "Phosphalugel" is treated according to a certain scheme, depending on the age and severity of the condition.

The drug has the ability to reduce the action of pepsin and bind bile acids. Phosphalugel is highly effective in irritable bowel syndrome and functional dyspepsia. The adsorbent properties of the drug allow you to get rid of harmful microorganisms that cause fermentation processes in the digestive tract. Toxic substances entering the body are quickly neutralized by the main components, which protects the sensitive mucous membrane from the effects of aggressive factors.

The drug should be taken in pure form or diluted with water at room temperature. Adults and children are shown taking several sachets of the drug during the day, depending on the severity of the condition.

With ulcerative lesions of the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines, a bag of medicine must be taken one hour after eating. With functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, "Phosphalugel" is taken in the morning, afternoon and evening.

Rules for taking medication

With diseases of the digestive system and the presence of indications, the gastroenterologist will tell you how to take Phosphalugel and De-nol together. They should be drunk separately from other drugs included in the treatment regimen. Means "De-nol" and "Phosphalugel" have good compatibility, and therefore they are allowed to be taken with a difference of several hours. The first is usually prescribed half an hour before meals, and the second should be drunk after meals, but after 1.5-2 hours. They interact at such a level that they do not reduce or increase efficiency in the presence of each other.

Side effects

Medicines have a wide range of indications for the pathology of the gastrointestinal tract in the acute phase. Like any drug, they can cause side effects. These include:

  • an allergic reaction with intolerance to certain components;
  • "Phosphalugel" is able to provoke constipation, and "De-nol" - diarrhea;
  • nausea or vomiting.

In connection with the listed conditions, it is impossible to accept funds on your own. Beforehand, it is necessary to consult a specialist and collect the necessary information that will prevent the development of these conditions. To avoid the development of complications, you should first read the instructions that indicate how to take Phosphalugel and Omeprazole for gastritis, ulcers and other pathologies.

Contraindications to the use of drugs

There are certain conditions when it is temporarily or not at all recommended to be treated with De-nol and Phosphalugel medications, both in monotherapy and in combination. These include the following states:

  • chronic renal failure occurring in severe severity;
  • intolerance to certain substances that form the basis of the drug or are among the additional ones;
  • diabetes.

These conditions are not always an absolute limitation for taking medications. To find out this question, you need to consult with a specialist.

De-Nol is a modern drug that can quickly eliminate ulcerative lesions on the walls of the gastrointestinal tract. The course of taking a pharmacological drug reduces the severity of the pain syndrome, normalizes digestion and peristalsis. De-Nol exhibits bactericidal activity against spiral pathogenic bacteria Helicobacter pylori. This ability allows the use of the drug in the treatment of gastritis provoked by microorganisms. Before taking De-Nol, you need to consult a doctor to make a diagnosis, prescribe a single and daily dose, and determine the duration of the course of treatment.

De-Nol is taken to treat ulcers and various types of gastritis

Characteristic features of taking the drug

The active ingredient in De-Nol is . The presence of this inorganic compound in the composition of the tablets determines the wide therapeutic spectrum of the antiulcer agent. Manufacturers used as auxiliary ingredients:

  • corn starch;
  • magnesium stearate;
  • potassium polyacrylate.

These components are necessary not only for the formation of tablets, but also to enhance the medicinal properties of bismuth tripotassium dicitrate. They contribute to the optimal distribution of the active substance on the gastric mucosa and its gradual release. Despite the bactericidal activity, De-Nol does not belong to the group of antibiotics, since the destruction of Helicobacter pylori is only one of its beneficial properties for the gastrointestinal tract. Bismuth tripotassium dicitrate exhibits a powerful anti-inflammatory, astringent and regenerating effect.

A wide spectrum of action allows you to combine l with drugs of various groups:

  • with antibiotics of the latest generation in laboratory diagnosis;
  • with proton pump inhibitors when detecting increased production of caustic hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes by glandular cells.

Therapeutic activity and duration of course treatment depends on what De-Nol is taken with. Taking antibiotics rarely takes more than 2-3 weeks, and proton pump inhibitors (, Pantoprazole, Pariet) require longer use.

What is the basis for the use of the drug

The drug should be taken half an hour before meals. This contributes to the full absorption of the active substance and the manifestation of the maximum therapeutic effect. Having penetrated the digestive tract, De-Nol, under the action of gastric juice, is converted into inorganic bismuth salts and begins to bind to proteins. After the formation of high-molecular conglomerates, a strong film is formed on the surface of the mucous membrane.

Such a protective barrier prevents the negative effects of hydrochloric acid and pepsin on areas with erosion and ulcerative lesions. Taking De-Nol before meals, a person relieves pain and possible dyspeptic manifestations from eating food. What other useful properties does the drug have:

  • accelerates the healing of mucous membranes;
  • reduces the production of hydrochloric acid;
  • reduces the functional activity of gastric juice.

A strong film formed under the action of De-Nol does not allow pathogenic bacteria to attach to the walls of the stomach and move freely in the digestive organs.

Recommendation: “During the treatment with De-Nol, you should limit the use of dairy products, and it is better to completely exclude them from the diet. This will help to avoid the development of side effects - increased gas formation, nausea, bloating."

Bismuth tripotassium dicitrate helps to reduce the enzymatic activity of Helicobacter pylori. Gram-negative bacteria lose their ability to grow and reproduce. The regimen for taking De-Nol with antibiotics is based on the inability of microorganisms to develop resistance to an antiulcer agent. This distinguishes it favorably from antibacterial drugs.

De-Nol tablets should be taken with plenty of non-carbonated water.

Instructions for use

Taking the drug without the appointment of a gastroenterologist is not only impractical, but also dangerous. Like all pharmacological preparations, De-Nol has its own contraindications and side effects. It is prescribed to young children very rarely, and the reception is carried out under the supervision of a doctor. A large number of contraindications depends on how you need to take De-Nol - before or after meals. The use of tablets on an empty stomach is an indispensable condition for proper therapy, but it also causes the development of some side effects.

The dosage of the drug is determined by the doctor after deciphering the results of laboratory tests. If De-Nol is used to destroy pathogenic microbes, then the amount of bismuth tripotassium dicitrate varies depending on the bactericidal action of antibiotics. For the treatment of ulcerative lesions not provoked by Helicobacter pylori, high dosages are required with the following frequency of administration:

  • the patient takes the tablets twice a day with an interval of 8-10 hours;
  • the daily dose is used immediately before breakfast.

For young children, the amount of the drug is calculated according to the weight of the child and is divided into two doses. Tablets should not be chewed or dissolved in water. This will reduce therapeutic efficacy and greatly delay recovery. A person's well-being improves 10-14 days after the start of treatment.

Advice: “Gastroenterologists recommend that patients give up bad habits during the treatment of ulcers and gastritis. Smoking will cause a low effectiveness of the drug, and the use of alcoholic beverages will contribute to the development of side effects.

Compliance with a sparing therapeutic diet will help to quickly eliminate symptoms when taking De-Nol. The patient should exclude from his diet fatty, fried, spicy foods that irritate the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract.

Dairy products should be avoided while taking De-Nol.

Therapeutic regimens

  • gastritis occurring against the background of increased production of hydrochloric acid;
  • stomach and duodenal ulcer;
  • inflammation of the duodenal mucosa and pyloric zone of the stomach;
  • dyspeptic disorders of various etiologies;
  • accompanied by diarrhea.
The effectiveness of the drug in preventing relapses in the chronic course of the pathological process has been proven. De-Nol is not used for single-component therapy, but only in complex treatment.

How to take a drug with proton pump inhibitors

Despite the ability of De-Nol to reduce the acidity of gastric juice, in some cases the use of drugs with a stronger effect is required. These include :

  • Omeprazole and its analogs Omez, Ultop;
  • pantoprazole;
  • Rabeprazole.

These drugs reduce the production of hydrochloric acid by glandular cells. When Omeprazole is combined with De-Nol, the antisecretory activity of the drugs is enhanced, and the regeneration of damaged tissues is significantly accelerated. Often, gastroenterologists also include antibacterial drugs in this therapeutic regimen. How often you can take De-Nol with antibiotics to prevent relapses, the doctor conducting the treatment will tell after assessing the frequency of exacerbations and the severity of their symptoms.

After taking proton pump inhibitors, the maximum concentration of active substances in the bloodstream is detected after a few hours, and the therapeutic effect continues throughout the day. Therefore, omeprazole, pantoprazole and rabeprazole should be taken once a day. The drugs are indicated for admission to patients not only with increased, but also with reduced acidity. This is necessary to better protect the gastric mucosa from hydrochloric acid.

How to take antibiotic medicine

For the treatment of ulcers and gastritis, only broad-spectrum antibiotics are used. In the process of conducting laboratory studies, in addition to the type of pathogenic pathogen, its sensitivity to certain antibacterial drugs is established. Most often, gastroenterologists prescribe the therapeutic combination of Amoxicillin and Clarithromycin. If, after re-taking the tests, such a scheme turned out to be ineffective, then it is supplemented.

Warning: "Before drinking De-Nol, the patient is examined for the presence of cancerous tumors that can provoke increased acidity of gastric juice." In addition to antibiotics and De-Nol, the antimicrobial drug Metronidazole is used in the treatment of ulcers and gastritis.

Treatment with antibacterial agents is not complete without taking probiotics and prebiotics.

Enveloping, antacid and absorbent drugs

Pharmacological properties

De-Nol is an antiulcer drug containing the active substance - bismuth subcitrate. De-Nol belongs to the group of astringent drugs, however, it has a multifaceted effect, influencing various links in the pathogenesis of peptic ulcer. The main pharmacological effects of the drug include astringent, antimicrobial and gastrocytoprotective action.
The mechanism of the binding action of bismuth subcitrate is based on its ability to precipitate proteins by forming chelate compounds with them. Thus, a protective film is formed on the surface of the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum. It is noted that the formation of a protective film occurs exclusively in areas with erosive and ulcerative lesions, which contributes to their speedy scarring by eliminating the negative impact of the acidic environment of the stomach. In the reaction of formation of chelate compounds of bismuth subcitrate with proteins, an important role is played by the acidic environment of the stomach, which acts as a catalyst in this reaction.
The drug De-Nol has bactericidal activity against Helicobacter pylori. The antimicrobial effect of bismuth subcitrate is based on its ability to inhibit the enzymatic activity in the cell of the microorganism, which leads to a change in the course of vital reactions and, as a result, to the death of bacteria. In addition, the drug disrupts the permeability and microstructure of the cell membrane, which not only reduces cell viability, but also leads to a loss of Helicobacter pylori adhesion ability. A decrease in the virulence and mobility of microorganisms under the action of bismuth subcitrate was also noted. Unlike other antimicrobials used to treat diseases associated with Helicobacter pylori, no strains resistant to the action of bismuth subcitrate have been identified so far. Bismuth subcitrate is characterized by a high degree of solubility, due to which the drug is able to penetrate deep into the mucus layer, inactivating microorganisms under the mucosa. Thus, the use of the drug De-Nol reduces the risk of recurrence of peptic ulcer.

De-Nol has a pronounced gastrocytoprotective effect, which is based on the following mechanisms of action:
- stimulation of the biosynthesis of prostaglandin E2, under the influence of which the formation of mucin and the production of bicarbonate ions increase, which form a protective mucosal-bicarbonate barrier.
- improvement of microcirculation in the membrane of the antrum of the stomach and duodenum, which helps to improve metabolism at the cellular level, which leads to an acceleration of cell regeneration and helps to restore the microstructure of the mucous membranes.
- a decrease in the amount of hydrochloric acid, due to a decrease in its secretion by the fundic cells of the stomach, which leads to a decrease in the acidity of gastric juice.
- due to the formation of complex compounds of pepsin with bismuth subcitrate, pepsin is inactivated, as a result of which the peptic activity of gastric juice decreases.
After oral administration, only a small part of bismuth subcitrate is absorbed into the systemic circulation. In this case, the concentration of the drug in the blood increases with prolonged use. The drug is excreted in the feces.

Indications for use De-Nol

The drug is used for various diseases of the stomach and duodenum, which are accompanied by lesions of the mucous membrane, including:
- peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum caused by Helicobacter pylori, including peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum;
- acute and chronic gastritis and gastroduodenitis, including those associated with Helicobacter pylori;
- lesions of the gastric mucosa resulting from therapy with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
- functional dyspepsia, not associated with organic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
- the drug is also used to treat patients suffering from irritable bowel syndrome, which is accompanied by a violation of the stool.

Contraindications

- Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug;
- taking drugs containing bismuth;
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- severe renal dysfunction;
- the drug is not prescribed to children under the age of 14 years.

Usage Precautions

Pregnancy:
The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy.
If it is necessary to prescribe the drug during lactation, it is necessary to resolve the issue of stopping breastfeeding.

Interaction with drugs

Milk, food and antacids reduce the effectiveness of De-Nol. It is recommended to observe an interval of at least 30 minutes between taking bismuth subcitrate and antacids. It is recommended to take the drug at least 30 minutes before meals.
The drug is not used simultaneously with other drugs containing bismuth, since the simultaneous use of several bismuth drugs increases the risk of side effects, including the risk of developing encephalopathy.

Method of application and dosage De-Nol

The drug is used for the treatment of adults and children over the age of 14 years. The duration of the course of treatment and the dose of the drug is determined by the attending physician individually for each patient, depending on the nature of the disease.
Usually prescribed 4 tablets of the drug per day. The daily dose is recommended to be divided into 2 or 4 doses.
According to the first scheme of taking the drug, take 1 tablet 30 minutes before meals (including three meals a day) and 1 tablet at bedtime.
According to an alternative regimen, take 2 tablets of the drug 30 minutes before meals 2 times a day (morning and evening).
The tablet is recommended to be swallowed whole, without chewing or crushing, drinking plenty of water. It is not recommended to take the tablets with milk. The duration of the course of treatment is usually 4 to 8 weeks. After the end of taking the drug, it is not recommended to take medicines containing bismuth for 2 months.

If the results of microbiological tests show the presence of Helicobacter pylori, complex therapy is recommended according to one of the following schemes:
De-Nol - 1 tablet 30 minutes before meals 2 times a day;
Clarithromycin - 500 mg 2 times a day;
Amoxicillin - 1000 mg 2 times a day.

De-Nol - 1 tablet 30 minutes before meals 2 times a day;
Tetracycline - 500 mg 4 times a day;
Metronidazole - 500 mg 3 times a day;
Preparations of the proton pump inhibitor group (omeprazole, lansoprazole, etc.) in a standard dosage.
The duration of the course of treatment is 1-2 weeks.
After completing the course of combination therapy, it is possible to continue treatment with De-Nol to accelerate the regeneration of the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum. In this case, the drug is taken according to the standard scheme. It should be noted that the total duration of therapy with De-Nol should not exceed 8 weeks.

Side effects

The drug is usually well tolerated by patients, however, some patients have experienced the following side effects when using De-Nol:
From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea, vomiting, stool disorders (possible development of both constipation and diarrhea), slight darkening of the tongue, staining of feces black.
Allergic reactions: pruritus, rash, urticaria. The development of anaphylactic reactions was extremely rare.
With prolonged use of the drug or taking high doses, patients experience an accumulation of bismuth in the tissues of the central nervous system, which can cause the development of encephalopathy.
Side effects are reversible and disappear quickly after discontinuation of the drug.

Overdose

When using the drug in doses ten times higher than recommended, or with prolonged use of excessive doses of the drug, bismuth poisoning may develop. Symptoms of poisoning are the development of reversible renal failure and an increase in the level of bismuth in the blood.
There is no specific antidote. In case of an overdose of the drug, gastric lavage, enterosorbents and symptomatic therapy aimed at maintaining kidney function are indicated. In case of an overdose, the appointment of saline laxatives is also indicated. With the development of severe renal impairment, hemodialysis is indicated.

Storage conditions

The drug is recommended to be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight at a temperature of 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. Shelf life - 4 years.
