In general, in order to preserve as many nutrients as possible in the mushroom, metal utensils should be avoided. The birch fungus does not interact very well with the tree. The ideal option for preparing infusions would be glass and ceramic containers, in extreme cases, enamelware.

Most often, chaga is poured with water, the temperature of which does not exceed 50 degrees. This allows you to save most of the nutrients. For the same reason, the mushroom is not boiled, but simmered in a water bath.

Separately, heat the water in which the mushroom was to a temperature of about 40-50 degrees. It needs to pour crushed chaga with water, for one part of the mushroom - 5 parts of water. Lacquered tinder fungus is used as an antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant agent. Medicines based on it relieve pain and inflammation, increase immunity, reduce blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Reishi mushroom also actively fights cancerous tumors and prevents their spread.

  • Tinder fungus birch or beveled (chaga). This species grows mainly on birches. Although it is also found on other trees, only a mushroom from a birch has medicinal properties. Chaga develops in places of damage to the tree: on breaks, cracks, burns. It grows up to half a meter in width, has an elongated or roundish shape. The surface is uneven, wrinkled. The color of its fabric is dark, almost black, and inside it is brown, with yellow streaks. Birch is very dense and hard in consistency. Has no smell.

Medicinal chaga mushroom is often confused with species such as false and true tinder fungus. To distinguish them, remember: the false tinder fungus has the shape of a hoof, it is not so dense, it has a velvety surface, the color is brown with circles. This species grows on dried trees and stumps, while chaga settles only on living birches. Real tinder fungus is smooth, has grooves and wavy layers, and is easy to separate from the tree.

Which helped me get rid of gastritis.

The real tinder fungus has a lighter color, a smooth surface, and is easier to separate from the tree trunk. It is attached to the tree not by the edges, but by the central part. It looks like a regular hoof-shaped mushroom.

False tinder fungus usually grows on fallen trees, has a “hoof” shape, soft texture, gray color with dark stripes. These mushrooms have toxic properties and can cause poisoning of the body.

Birch chaga should be collected far from main roads and industrial areas. The outer and middle layers of the plant are harvested, the core is thrown away - only darkly colored parts of the fungus have healing properties.

Chaga is rubbed on a grater or scrolled in a meat grinder, dried in a well-ventilated shaded place. Store raw materials in a glass container, tin can or in a bag made of natural fabric.

Personally, I just cut it into small pieces, which I then dried.

Cooking chaga

Birch fungus is prescribed in the form of infusion, tea or decoction. Each dosage form has its own recipe for preparation and indications for use. In the article, I have already given two recipes for preparing an infusion and a decoction. Consider other most popular recipes.

Infusion from chaga

Infusion is prescribed mainly for the treatment of diseases. It contains the highest concentration of medicinal substances and is a potent dosage form. If the infusion is prepared from a freshly picked mushroom, then the plant is pre-soaked in boiled water for 5-6 hours.

The crushed raw materials are poured with water, its temperature should not exceed 60 degrees, hermetically covered with a lid and infused for 1-2 days. It is necessary to observe the proportions - 1 part of chaga and 5 parts of water. After the infusion is filtered, the liquid in which the mushroom or filtered water was soaked is added, bringing the amount of liquid to its original volume. Take a glass three times a day in between meals, preferably one hour before meals.

Chaga tea

Tea from birch chaga is recommended for the prevention of diseases, the prevention of exacerbation of chronic pathology, and the improvement of the overall tone of the body. This dosage form contains a lower concentration of useful components. The crushed raw materials are poured with water, the temperature of which should be in the range of 80-90 degrees, and infused for 1.5-2 hours. The proportions correspond to the previous recipe. Lemon and honey are added to tea before drinking to improve the taste. The drug is taken in weekly courses of 3-4 cups per day an hour before meals.

Decoction of chaga

The use of decoctions based on chaga has gained less popularity than infusions or teas. The fact is that after bringing to a boiling point, the plant loses a large number of healing components. First of all, the unique anti-tumor complex is destroyed, which prevents cancerous degeneration of cells and protects the body from the appearance of neoplasms. To preserve other beneficial ingredients, birch fungus is cooked in a water bath, which is a milder way to prepare a medicinal drug.

For a decoction, take 300 grams of crushed raw materials, add a liter of hot water. Simmer the product in a water bath for half an hour, constantly stirring with a wooden spatula. To increase the effectiveness of the drug and preserve the healing components, you can add 250 grams of aloe leaves, pre-chilled in the refrigerator throughout the day. Then the broth is passed through a gauze filter, cooled and taken in half a glass 2 times a day between meals. In this form, the remedy is recommended for the treatment of diseases of mild severity.

To obtain a stable positive result, it is important to properly brew birch fungus. Before starting therapy, you should consult with your doctor. It should be remembered that chaga-based dosage forms are not taken simultaneously with antibiotics from the penicillin group and glucose.

Be sure to try drinking chaga.

By the way, in the summer I will go to collect chaga, so that I can drink it again in the winter, for prevention.
For clarity, watch the video on how to brew chaga.

Drink chaga and be healthy.

See you soon!
