This is how our faith in his power, the power of the sign of the cross, is expressed, demons are driven away.

Turning to the Cross of the Lord, we call it Life-Giving, for the Cross is an incomprehensible and invincible power: Jesus Christ was killed on it as on an altar as a propitiation for our sins, and by this he helped people get rid of eternal death, opened the way to Heaven for them. The short doxology “Weaken, leave ...” is associated with a request for everyone and for everything. Following the call of the Savior and his ascetics, who fervently prayed for their enemies, the Christian turns to the Almighty with prayers for those who hate us and have ever offended us, further praying for their relatives and good friends, for the sick and traveling, for benefactors, for already departed from the earthly world ...

Weaken, let go, forgive, O God, our sins, voluntary and involuntary, committed in word and deed, consciously and unconsciously, day and night, in the mind and in thought - forgive us everything, as the Merciful and Humanitarian.
