There are many recipes for alcoholic beverages that differ in strength, taste and manufacturing technology. A special place among strong alcoholic drinks is given to viburnum tinctures, which are valued not only for their pleasant taste, but also for their healing properties. Making a tincture of viburnum at home is not at all difficult. From berries infused with alcohol, moonshine, cognac or ordinary vodka, a pleasant-tasting, cheerful drink is obtained.

Viburnum tincture at home - general principles of the technological process

The fruits of viburnum have a characteristic tart and slightly bitter taste. Berries already hit by the first autumn frosts are harvested. Frozen fruits lose their astringency, acquire sweetness and are not so noticeably bitter. So it is possible to collect viburnum for our purposes throughout the entire late autumn and winter.

For the preparation of an alcoholic drink, ripe berries should be chosen. Freshly picked fruits must be picked from the branches, removing spoiled or dried ones. Before use, the berries are washed with water and scattered on a towel to dry well. The containers are also well washed and dried.

Viburnum tincture at home is prepared with vodka, moonshine or alcohol. A drink infused with cognac has a special taste.

Insist berries from one to two months. Containers are placed in a darkened room, saving from direct sunlight. There are recipes that allow you to prepare a useful drug, and in a shorter time. If the viburnum is baked in the oven, the drink can be made in just a week.

The finished tincture is filtered with several folded layers of gauze, after which it is poured into clean and exclusively glass bottles, allowed to stand for a few more days to consolidate the result. Store the tincture, tightly corking the containers, in a cool, dark place.

Homemade tincture of viburnum on vodka - "Kalinka"

A simple recipe for viburnum tincture on vodka. The drink is obtained with a strength slightly below 40 degrees, and, thanks to the addition of sugar, it turns out soft and easy to drink. Cinnamon and citric acid are used for taste and unusual aroma. These components can be excluded if desired.

Ingredients:

half a kilo of viburnum berries;

200 ml of vodka;

sugar - 150 gr.;

a glass of drinking water;

a quarter teaspoon of "lemon" and the same amount of ground cinnamon.

Cooking method:

We pick the berries from the branches in a colander. After rinsing with cool water, dry it without putting it out of a colander.

We prepare the container. To prepare the tincture, it is better to take a glass jar. After rinsing the bottle with warm water, wipe dry from the inside with a towel.

We fill the jar with viburnum, fill it with vodka. Make sure that the alcohol covers the berries by at least two centimeters, if the indicated amount of vodka is not enough, add a little more.

Pour sugar into a saucepan, add water, cinnamon, citric acid and stir well.

We place the saucepan on low heat, stirring occasionally, prepare a clear syrup, cool.

Pour the cooled sugar syrup into a jar of berries. After carefully shaking the contents, we cork the container with a nylon lid.

We place the jar with the future tincture in a dark, not cold place for three to four weeks. The longer you hold, the better the taste will be.

The aged infusion is filtered through cheesecloth and poured into a container. Let the tincture stand for another four days.

Homemade tincture of viburnum "Classic" (on alcohol)

Alcohol tincture of viburnum, prepared at home - a medicine. It is advisable to use a strong, slightly bitter drink in small doses, for preventive purposes. The recipe for tincture is simple and everyone can cook it. Pay attention to alcohol, it’s better to give up a little strength and take a “pervak” of home distillation, rather than prepare a tincture for medicinal purposes from a low-grade purchased surrogate.

Ingredients:

250 grams of viburnum;

half a liter of pure drinking alcohol;

500 ml spring water.

Cooking method:

After washing the viburnum, drying it, pour it into a jar.

Pour water and alcohol into the container. Mix well and close tightly.

We insist viburnum on alcohol for a month. Then we filter through 5–7 layers of gauze and pour into glass containers.

Homemade tincture of viburnum on cognac with honey - "Cognac"

Honey not only allows you to soften the taste of an alcoholic drink, but also increases its medicinal benefits. Cognac gives the tincture a richer taste and muffles the specific smell of berries with its aroma.

Ingredients:

two kilos of viburnum;

a bottle of 3-year-old cognac;

half a kilo of honey;

spring water, filtered or melted.

Cooking method:

After removing the berries from the branches, we sort through, removing spoiled and crumpled ones. We wash the viburnum with water, dry it, spreading it on a towel.

We wash the jar, wipe it thoroughly with a towel from the inside. The container must be clean and dry.

Pour dried berries into a jar and fill them with cognac.

We measure half a liter of water into a saucepan and heat it up a little.

Combine honey with warm water, stir until dissolved. Cool the honey mixture.

Pour the cooled sweet solution into a jar of viburnum, stir.

Closing tightly, place the container in a dark place. It is desirable to keep viburnum on cognac with honey for at least one and a half months, but 60 days are recommended.

We filter the drink, pour it into glass containers. Store tightly closed in a cool place.

Homemade viburnum tincture on moonshine with pine nuts - "Sibiryachka"

Viburnum berries have a tart taste and a specific aroma. To soften them, we will insist on pine nut kernels with anise. We cook on moonshine, the strength of which we select according to our own taste. If desired, moonshine can be replaced with 40-degree wheat vodka.

Ingredients:

viburnum, berries - a liter jar;

a liter of moonshine, you can vodka;

pine nut kernels - 50 pcs.;

3 gr. anise (seeds);

three spoons of sugar;

drinking water - half a glass.

Cooking method:

Washed and dried viburnum berries are poured into a jar.

We wash the pine nut kernels in a colander. Scald with boiling water, dry.

Pour pine nuts to viburnum, pour moonshine into a jar, add anise.

We insist in a dark place for three weeks. An important point - the tincture should be shaken and stirred well daily.

We filter the finished infusion through a sieve or a multilayer gauze filter.

On low heat, prepare a clear syrup from sugar and water. Cool it to air temperature and mix with viburnum infusion.

Pour viburnum tincture into clean bottles and, tightly corked, store in a cool place.

Homemade viburnum tincture: a quick recipe

Viburnum tinctures at home are prepared not only by long infusion, there are also faster recipes. If the berries are preheated in the oven, the drink can be prepared in just a few hours. It is recommended to prepare such a tincture only with vodka, moonshine can spoil its taste.

Ingredients:

kilogram of selected viburnum;

a liter of wheat vodka;

sugar, unrefined.

Cooking method:

We sort through, removing freshly picked viburnum from the branches. Having measured a kilogram, we wash and dry well.

Scatter the viburnum on a baking sheet and put in a hot oven. We bake the berries at 180 degrees. The fruits should not dry out, as soon as they become soft, we take out and cool.

We fill glass containers with baked viburnum by two thirds of the volume and, not adding one and a half centimeters to the neck, pour in vodka.

We insist until the drink acquires a bright color, then filter it.

Pour a little, given the desired result, sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

The tincture can be consumed immediately, but it is best to withstand another three days to fix.

Homemade tincture of viburnum on vodka with oak bark and honey - “A la cognac”

By making viburnum tincture at home, you can achieve special taste qualities of the drink. For example, if you add a little oak bast to berries drenched in alcohol, the tincture, as a result of long aging, will resemble a good, aged cognac. We buy oak bark in a pharmacy.

Ingredients:

a full glass of ripe viburnum;

half a liter of wheat vodka or high-quality, repeatedly distilled moonshine;

a spoonful of liquid honey;

oak bark - 1 tbsp. l.

Cooking method:

Pour the dried berries into a large glass jar.

Pour high-quality moonshine or vodka into the container.

Sprinkle oak bark, add honey and stir thoroughly. Honey should be completely dissolved in alcohol.

We cork the jar with a nylon lid and put it away for three months in a dark place.

We filter the aged tincture first with several layers of gauze, and then pass it through a cotton wool inserted into the funnel.

The tincture is ready, you can bottle it and put it away for storage.

Viburnum tincture at home - cooking tricks and useful recommendations

If the viburnum was collected before frost, place the fruits picked from the branches for a day in the freezer. Before making the tincture, thaw the fruit at room temperature.

You should not take soft berries, their skin can burst and the pulp will cloud the tincture.

It is advisable to filter the finished, settled tincture again in order to completely remove the precipitate. For this, cotton wool is usually used, which is placed in a funnel.
