Healing after otoplasty. What are the features of the recovery period after otoplasty: photos before and after surgery and other recommendations. Bandage after otoplasty on the head

There are very few people in the world who are completely satisfied with their appearance, and they can rightfully be called lucky. But today, thanks to the active development of plastic surgery, almost any flaw in appearance can be corrected. One of the most popular surgeries is otoplasty. This is a surgical correction of the shape or size of the ear.

Otoplasty is not a complicated operation, has practically no side effects and contraindications, does not last long (up to an hour), does not require long-term hospitalization, as a rule, the patient can be discharged home on the same day. But a reconstructive operation is only the first step on the path to ideal ears, immediately after it begins an equally important period - rehabilitation after otoplasty, which affects not only the speed of recovery, but also the consequences of the operation.

Rehabilitation after otoplasty is a complex process that includes several options for restorative treatment and rules of conduct. Let's consider the most important of them.

Compression bandage

Perhaps, the consequences of otoplasty depend most of all on compliance with the recommendations of a plastic surgeon on wearing a special compression bandage. The latter is put on immediately after the operation over the aseptic one. Its main task is to keep the ears pressed to the head. It also protects against accidental injury in everyday life and during sleep, prevents severe bruising and swelling of the postoperative wound.

Depending on the size of the surgical intervention, it is necessary to wear a bandage from 7 to 14 days. In appearance, it resembles a tennis one, so you don’t have to worry that others will look at you.

Necessary medicines in the postoperative period

Immediately after otoplasty, pain medications are administered parenterally to the patient to eliminate pain. But pain can still be disturbing during the first 3 days after the operation. To make rehabilitation more comfortable, the patient is prescribed non-narcotic analgesics in tablets for this period.

Be sure to prescribe a course of broad-spectrum antibiotics to prevent infection of the postoperative wound (5-7 days).

The complex of drug treatment also includes the use of external dosage forms (ointments, gels, creams), which contribute to the rapid healing of the wound and have antibacterial properties. Preparations are selected only by a plastic surgeon.

  • Bruising and swelling

Despite the low invasiveness of otoplasty, it will not be possible to avoid bruising and swelling, but measures can be taken to minimize these consequences of the intervention. For this purpose, the wearing of a compression bandage and special, absorbable hematomas, medications are prescribed. As a rule, bruises persist for up to 7 days. To reduce swelling, you need to limit yourself to salty and spicy foods, which retain moisture in the body.

Dressing and removal of sutures

The consequences of otoplasty also depend on the timeliness of postoperative dressings and removal of surgical sutures. As a rule, about three dressings are needed after the operation. Each time, the gauze swab is impregnated with medicines with wound healing and antiseptic properties, and a compression bandage is put on top. The stitches are removed one week after the otoplasty. To do this, you need to visit the clinic.

  • Night sleep

This is a very important point in quick rehabilitation, since in a dream a person does not control his movements and can injure the operated ear. You need to sleep on your back and always with a compression bandage on your head.

  • final result

The consequences of otoplasty and rehabilitation can be seen 2 weeks after the operation - it is then that the swelling will completely disappear, bruises will disappear and you can no longer wear a bandage. At first, some discomfort may be felt, the sensitivity of the skin of the operated auricles may decrease, but after 2 months, all discomfort completely disappears. It must be emphasized that otoplasty does not affect hearing in any way.

To maximize recovery after plastic surgery, not only after otoplasty, you can use the services of hardware cosmetology and physiotherapy procedures offered by the clinic.

You also need to remember the following tips:

  • Do not wash your hair until the stitches are removed (risk of infection);
  • Avoid physical overexertion so that the pressure does not increase (postoperative bleeding may begin);
  • Forget about glasses for 2 months until complete healing;
  • It is not recommended to wear earrings during the first two months after otoplasty.

By following all the described principles of rehabilitation and the advice of your plastic surgeon, the recovery will be the fastest and most successful.

Otoplasty is a branch of aesthetic surgery that helps to correct the size and shape of the ears. It is used to correct congenital and acquired defects of the auricles, eliminate asymmetry and give them a beautiful shape. Modern equipment and effective medicines make the operation as quick and painless as possible. After otoplasty is performed, rehabilitation is the most important moment on which the final result of the entire procedure depends, so it must be treated with special attention.

How is otoplasty performed?

Otoplasty is one of the few plastic surgeries that are successfully performed under local anesthesia. In time, it takes from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the degree of complexity. Preliminary preparation is practically not required. But in order to make sure that there are no medical contraindications that can provoke various complications, you will have to pass a series of laboratory tests.

The incisions are made with a conventional or laser scalpel behind the ears, where they will later become completely invisible. After performing all the necessary manipulations, the incision sites are pulled together with cosmetic sutures. How long rehabilitation after otoplasty lasts largely depends on the individual characteristics of the body, as well as on the amount of correction performed.

Stages of rehabilitation

Usually, after an otoplasty, recovery begins within a couple of hours. Immediately after the operation, the auricles are fixed with a special plaster, a cotton compress is applied to them with a healing agent that accelerates healing, and a tight elastic bandage around the head keeps the correct position. The entire period of rhinoplasty rehabilitation is divided into several key stages.

It is advisable to avoid ball games, contact martial arts and other sports in which the ears can be injured.

Postoperative dressing

The bandage, which must be worn during the rehabilitation period after otoplasty, securely holds both shells in the correct position. In addition, it is necessary to prevent their displacement before the tissue healing process begins.

This product is great for:

  • protects the ears from injury;
  • prevents the spread of hematomas and edema, which usually form in the operated area.

Note that the bandage after otoplasty has a very convenient feature. Manufacturers produce it in the so-called universal size. But it fits on any head, as it is equipped with a special clasp.

What does it look like

This medical accessory has an annular shape. In fact, this is a simple bandage - elastic or ordinary. If desired, it is permissible to wear a bandage instead.

Today, in pharmacies or specialized medical equipment stores, you can buy a special head bandage. According to its characteristics, it is no different from a compression bandage after otoplasty. But it looks much more presentable.

Such an accessory is very similar to the bandage that athletes usually wear. Often it can be seen, for example, on tennis players. It differs, as already mentioned, only in the presence of an adjustable fastener (Velcro).

Duration of wearing

Many are interested in how long the bandage will have to be worn. As a rule, the doctor recommends walking in it for at least a week. The maximum term is 14 days. You can remove this accessory only with the permission of the doctor.

After the doctor has put on the patient a compression bandage, the latter can go home. True, then he will need to make several more visits to the clinic so that the surgeon can monitor how the rehabilitation is going and make dressings.

The bandage needs to be changed. This is necessary to maintain hygiene and prevent the development of pathological processes.

The patient should be dressed at least twice:

  1. The next day after the operation. At the same time, the doctor evaluates the work done.
  2. On day 8. The stitches are removed. The surgeon carefully examines the auricles and gives recommendations for care.

The correct wearing of a compression bandage after otoplasty and compliance with all the rules of rehabilitation will largely determine the cosmetic effect of the intervention.

Possible complications

Otoplasty is not a complex and traumatic operation, so if all the recommendations for the rehabilitation period were strictly followed, complications are extremely rare. Negative consequences after otoplasty occur in cases where:

  • infection and rotting of the seams occurs;
  • inflammation is activated due to the refusal of antibiotics;
  • bleeding occurs due to mechanical trauma;
  • the ear is deformed due to the displacement of the fixing bandage.

Extremely rarely, due to the insufficient qualification of the surgeon, there is a complete or partial loss of ear sensitivity, as well as a curvature of the shape of the auricle. Therefore, before deciding on an operation, it is necessary to collect as much information and feedback as possible about the doctor and clinic where otoplasty will be performed.

Previous Next

Correction of the shape and location of the auricles can be carried out under anesthesia or local anesthesia. The choice of the method of anesthesia depends on the characteristics and volume of the surgical intervention, the wishes of the patient are also taken into account.

If you do not want to be conscious during ear surgery, the operation will be performed under light anesthesia. In this case, we recommend staying in the clinic ward during the first day after the correction. If the plastic is performed under local anesthesia, you can leave the clinic after 3-4 hours.

Dressing after otoplasty

All patients who underwent otoplasty have an aseptic gauze bandage applied to their ears after surgery. From above it is fixed with a circular elastic bandage. The compression bandage presses the ears to the head, fixes them in the anatomically correct position, and protects the auricles from mechanical damage. It also helps to reduce the severity of edema and bruising after surgery.

The aseptic dressing after otoplasty must be changed every day, as the wound heals, the dressing is done every 2-3 days. The compression bandage should be worn continuously for the first week. From the second week it can be removed during the day, but at night you need to sleep only in a bandage.

Swelling after otoplasty and pain

Ears after otoplasty will hurt a little. As a rule, the pain syndrome is expressed moderately and is successfully stopped by painkillers. Minor pain persists for several days, after which it completely disappears.

Edema after otoplasty persists for a longer period - up to two weeks. Anti-inflammatory drugs can be used to reduce swelling. A compression bandage after otoplasty also helps to reduce tissue swelling.

Stitches after otoplasty

Sutures after otoplasty are removed after 5-7 days. If absorbable suture material was used during the operation, this manipulation is not necessary. Scars after plastic surgery of the ears are not visible, as they pass along the inner surface of the auricle.

Rehabilitation after otoplasty: physiotherapy

To accelerate tissue regeneration, methods of hardware cosmetology are used. In the SOHO CLINIC, after plastic surgery, patients are prescribed microcurrent therapy using the modern Skin Master Plus device. The purpose of the procedures is to normalize the outflow of lymph and microcirculation, improve oxygenation and tissue nutrition, and accelerate regeneration. A short course of procedures significantly reduces the duration of the recovery period.

At SOHO CLINIC, three free physiotherapy sessions are provided to patients after otoplasty.

While recovering from otoplasty, general guidelines should be followed. Sports, jogging and other physical activities should be limited for up to two months. The expansion of motor activity is carried out gradually. You can not visit the solarium or sauna. Avoid hypothermia, direct sunlight.

In order for the ears to acquire the correct anatomical shape after otoplasty, glasses should not be used for two months. Women should refrain from wearing jewelry (earrings). Full recovery after rhinoplasty takes about six months. During this period, minor residual effects after the operation may persist.

If you have any questions regarding otoplasty and the rehabilitation period after surgery, sign up for a free consultation with a plastic surgeon at SOHO CLINIC. The doctor will answer all questions, tell you about the rules for preparing for plastic surgery and the features of the recovery period.

Otoplasty is the restoration of the auricle after an injury or due to congenital pathology. Restoration involves the correction of a deformed shape. Sometimes the operation is performed only out of an individual desire to change the shape of the ears. Otoplasty includes surgery and a period of rehabilitation.

The operation to restore the shape of the ears is not considered difficult, does not last long and does not require long-term hospitalization of the patient. Rehabilitation after otoplasty involves a set of measures and norms of behavior of the operated person himself. The measures and time of postoperative rehabilitation differ from other types of plastic surgery.

Features of rehabilitation and its duration

The result of surgical intervention to change the shape of the ear depends not only on the technique of the surgical operation, but also on the exact observance of the rules of postoperative rehabilitation. Rehabilitation is a phased physiological process, resulting in a complete restoration of the ear tissues.

The stages of the presented kind of rehabilitation include:

  • Alteration- has the second name "destruction". The period includes the destruction of cells and tissues at the site of the surgical incision.
  • Exudation- the stage of formation of tissue edema, which occurs due to destruction in the previous period. In the resulting intercellular space, fluid is released.
  • Proliferation- the beginning of cell division and tissue regeneration. First of all, connective tissue cells are replaced, which later form a scar.
  • resorption- the last stage - there is a decrease in the severity of the connective scar, later it is replaced by epithelial cells.

The presented periods follow each other in turn, contributing to the restoration of damaged areas due to otoplasty. Rehabilitation lasts until the complete resorption of the scar - about six weeks.

The performed otoplasty, the rehabilitation period after which is aimed at reducing postoperative discomfort, eliminating complications, stimulating rapid tissue regeneration and improving the aesthetic result of plastic surgery, makes it possible to correct a mistake of nature or restore the shape of the ears after an injury.

Rehabilitation in the early postoperative period

Otoplasty is considered the safest operation among all plastic corrections. Already on the second day after it, if there are no complications, the patient goes home and only goes for dressings every 2-3 days.

He is given a sick leave and prescribed bed rest, which excludes all physical activity. Only after two weeks you can go to work, but you can not engage in physical labor and sports.

Recovery after changing the shape of the ears is divided into two periods: early and late. Each of them is characterized by its activities aimed at eliminating the consequences after the operation. In the early period after the operation, everything is aimed at the following activities:

  1. Preventive actions against infection of the surgical incision - aseptic dressings are used. Among other things, they protect against mechanical impact and subsequent displacement of ear tissues. Procedures with the inclusion of dressings are done once a day with a change of dressing soaked in an antiseptic. Antiseptics include Furacilin or hydrogen peroxide.
  2. elimination painful syndrome - painkillers are used (nimesil, ketanov).
  3. elimination puffiness- Compression bandages are used for this. They are applied by the surgeon to avoid tissue displacement. The bandage is superimposed on the ears, pressing them tightly to the head.
  4. Prevention of occurrence bleeding- they may appear as a result of vascular damage that occurred during the operation. For their cupping, gauze napkins are used and tight bandaging is performed.
  5. Acceleration regeneration tissues - during the dressing, an ointment is applied to the seam that improves cell regeneration (Levomekol).
  6. Withdrawal seams- occurs if the wound was sutured with silk threads. This happens 5-7 days after the defect is eliminated. If catgut was used to suture the wound, then it resolves itself.

This period lasts 7-10 days, and it is during it, if these measures are not followed, bleeding may occur, the sutures may open or cut, and purulent inflammation of the wound may develop. You can avoid such complications if you strictly follow all the recommendations of specialists.

Rehabilitation in the late postoperative period

The postoperative period following the early period involves the implementation of measures and recommendations that help reduce the negative impact of the external environment on the ears and stimulate the healing process.

  1. Compliance diet, aimed at eating foods with a lot of protein and vitamins. Here you can highlight lean meat and easily digestible vegetables.
  2. Volume reduction harmful food, including smoked meats, fatty and spicy foods.
  3. Rejection alcohol and other bad habits, as they are considered toxic and interfere with cell renewal and scar resorption.
  4. Complete ban on certain species sports and actions, as well as partial limitation of physical activity - this is necessary to prevent tissue displacement and postoperative suture opening.
  5. Maintaining optimal indoor temperature mode - favorable for a good regeneration process, so that it goes faster. To such an optimal temperature include 18-20 degrees Celsius. Limiting visits to the bath and sauna, since high temperature and high humidity contribute to the divergence of the edges of the postoperative wound.
  6. Avoid exposure ultraviolet rays, because solar radiation contributes to the denaturation of proteins, which gradually leads to poor healing of the postoperative suture.
  7. the washing up heads should be carried out with extreme caution, avoiding the ingress of detergents on the wound, so that there is no chemical irritation of the epithelial cells at the site of the resulting scar.

This rehabilitation period lasts one month, it is worth following all the proposed recommendations.

During the rehabilitation period, attention should be paid to some of the subtleties of its course, which affect the quality of scar healing and the effectiveness of the entire operation.

These subtleties include:

  1. Bleeding- occur due to damage to a large vessel during the implementation of rehabilitation procedures, are often observed at the beginning of the entire postoperative period. To prevent it from happening, tight bandages are made. Sometimes at the same time, napkins impregnated with hemostatic are used, which contribute to the formation of a blood clot and stop the bleeding.
  2. Bandage- is made from a characteristic cotton-gauze napkin. The blank is placed on the operated ear. Such a bandage protects against mechanical trauma to the wound and infection, and gives shape to the auricle. The bandage is fixed with a special mesh bandage, in the form of a stocking or adhesive plaster.
  3. hygiene head - within 3 days after the operation, this procedure is not allowed at all, up to 10 days you should wash your hair with warm water without the use of detergents. Until the end of the rehabilitation period, it is allowed to wash your hair using baby shampoo, they do not irritate the skin.

This will avoid complications that occur in the early postoperative period. In addition, the skin of the ears may lose sensitivity, but you should not be afraid of this - everything will return to normal very quickly.

The return of sensation is accompanied by "goosebumps" - this is a rather unpleasant, but not painful sensation that does not last long. Patients' fears of hearing loss or reduction after otoplasty are unjustified.

The operation does not affect the inside of the ears. Often, after surgery, bruises appear on the face - this is natural, since not only the tissues of the ear, but also neighboring tissues are affected. You should not be afraid of them, because within two weeks all bruises and swelling will disappear, there will be no trace of them.

Ointments, preparations and compression bandage

Usually complications after otoplasty occur in the early postoperative period. These include pain, swelling and bruising. Doctors apply all measures to eliminate these manifestations, which depends more on the person being operated on, his compliance with all the advice of specialists and the individual characteristics of his body.

Prevention of complications begins immediately after the end of the operation and consists in the fact that a postoperative compression bandage is put on the head. It tightly covers the circumference of the head and fixes the auricles. The cosmetic effect of the operation depends on the correct application and application of this bandage.

The bandage keeps the auricles in the correct position until the wound heals, preventing the tissues from moving. In addition, it protects against bruises during sleep and at home, and also prevents the spread of edema and hematoma that form at the site of the surgical suture.

A compression bandage is made from a simple or elastic bandage. But modern manufacturers have developed a special bandage - it looks like a tennis player's bandage, but has an adhesive tape that can adjust the fastener and give the product any shape and any size. It is necessary to use a bandage or bandage from 7 to 14 days - the time depends on how the recovery period will go.

The first postoperative dressing is carried out in a day. This is done for the early diagnosis of hematomas. The napkin on the wound is changed to a new one, since the old one is saturated with blood by that time.

The napkin is lubricated with a wound healing ointment: erythromycin, gentamicin or tetracycline. The next dressing and examination is carried out for 3-4 days, and after 8 days the third dressing is done.

Then the ends of the absorbable thread already fall off or the sutures are removed if silk threads were used for the suture. It is allowed to wear a bandage only at night, so as not to accidentally tuck the auricle.

Pain after surgery is quite common - this is the most common complication after otoplasty. Severe pain near the ears in the first two days indicates a large bandage pressure on the ears or the formation of a hematoma. If severe pain appeared after a few days, then this indicates the presence of inflammation.

If the pain occurs intermittently, then this is due to the regeneration of the branches of the large ear nerve or other nerves that were cut during the operation. To save the patient from discomfort and pain, immediately after the operation, around the auricle is chipped with a solution of Marcain with Adrenaline.

The patient is prescribed medications to relieve pain and accelerate healing and tissue repair. For each patient, drugs are prescribed individually, based on the characteristics of the operation and the person being operated on, possible allergic reactions. To speed up recovery are assigned:

  • analgesics in tablets of non-narcotic action;
  • antibiotics wide spectrum of action;
  • external means in the form ointments, gels and creams.

Antibiotics apply 5-7 days. All drugs act in a complex and contribute to the rapid healing of sutures without inflammatory processes. Usually, the doctor prescribes Nimesulide or Ketanol to relieve pain - they are most effective in this case.

The homeopathic preparations "Arnica" and "Tromel" showed themselves well, both in the form of tablets and in the form of ointments. They must be used in the first two weeks to relieve swelling and eliminate bruising.

A week before surgery and two weeks after it, you should drink Askorutin to reduce fragility and vascular permeability. The period of rehabilitation and how long the ears heal after otoplasty will depend on the implementation of all recommendations and appointments.

Prohibitions

In order for the wound healing process after surgical intervention to proceed without complications, it is necessary to strictly follow all the recommendations of a plastic surgeon. But in addition to the doctor's advice, there are a number of prohibitions, the observance of which guarantees the successful completion of the operation and the recovery process.

The following factors are strictly prohibited:

  1. Smoking and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  2. Eating pickles, marinades, as well as fatty, spicy and spicy foods.
  3. Practicing some kinds sports, which involve contact with an opponent and the possibility of injury to the ears (boxing, wrestling).
  4. walking on beach or in a solarium, exposure to direct sunlight should be limited.
  5. Application shampoos and other detergents for washing your hair, you can only use baby shampoo.
  6. Withdrawal bandages, seams and peeling off the crusts from the scar yourself.

In addition, it is forbidden to wear glasses for two months. Women are not recommended to wear earrings and other jewelry on their ears.

The rehabilitation period to eliminate defects on the auricles does not last so long, so you need to be patient and endure all these inconveniences and discomforts in order to achieve the desired result from the operation without bad consequences.

Full recovery occurs only after six months, then all prohibitions are removed if the correction of the auricles was of high quality.

During the rehabilitation period after plastic surgery on the ears, it is important to follow the recommendations of doctors at all its stages. This will speed up wound healing and overall recovery after surgical repair. These suggestions include the following:

  1. Need to use ointment to accelerate tissue regeneration with each dressing, applying it to the scar (Levomekol).
  2. Do not use any detergents shampoos, except shampoos for children.
  3. Protect with bandage ears from mechanical injury and from exposure to direct sunlight.
  4. eat rich proteins and vitamins in food, do not smoke or drink alcohol.
  5. If there is no bandage, wear mesh stocking, specially made for fixing the bandage on the head.
  6. In order not to develop edema, you need to sleep with upbeat head.

Otoplasty is an operation that is performed at any age, but children can only do it after they reach 6 years of age. The recovery period for children, adults and the elderly will differ in duration and the possibility of complications.

Children tolerate surgery much easier than adults and elderly patients, because they have soft cartilage, and the sutures heal very quickly, subject to all the recommendations of doctors. In the elderly, metabolic processes are slower and they require the use of physiotherapy procedures to accelerate healing.

If the temperature rises after surgery in the first days, then taking antipyretic drugs is recommended only until it reaches 38 degrees, the rest of the indicators are considered normal. Painkillers are taken if there is pain, but not more than one every four hours.

If the pain lasts continuously and is felt in one place, then you need to see a doctor - this may indicate the development of inflammation. Sports and physical activity are allowed two months after the operation. It is impossible not only to warm the wound, but hypothermia is undesirable for it.

If otoplasty is performed, rehabilitation lasts at least 6 weeks, and only after that you can see the result of the correction of the auricles. Previously, it will become visible two weeks after the disappearance of bruises and swelling. By following exactly all the doctor's recommendations during the rehabilitation period, you can achieve an excellent result in eliminating the ear defect.

Plastic surgery helps to restore lost beauty or correct birth defects, thereby allowing a person to stop being complex. Otoplasty is one of the most popular areas, which is aimed at reconstructing or correcting the shape of the ears and their sizes. This kind of operation is not considered difficult, does not take much time and does not require long-term hospitalization.

The price for otoplasty in St. Petersburg starts from 20,000 rubles and depends on the characteristics of the patient and the desired result.

Results of otoplasty

Almost any surgical intervention associated with violations of the integrity of soft tissues and cartilage is accompanied by various consequences. Otoplasty is no exception. The consequences, for the most part, are manifested in the form of:

  • periodic pain;
  • puffiness;
  • hematomas;
  • small scars or scars.

After the end of the operation, the patient is given an anesthetic, but discomfort may appear for several more days. Puffiness and bruising appear in 9 out of 10 cases, but disappear on their own after 10-14 days. The formation of scars or scars is possible due to the individual characteristics of the patient's skin or the low qualification of the plastic surgeon. You should always carefully choose the person you trust with your health and beauty. In order to avoid negative consequences after otoplasty, it is necessary to strictly follow all the recommendations of the doctor.

Early postoperative period

The most crucial moment is rehabilitation after otoplasty, because the degree of obtaining the desired result depends on how it proceeds. After this operation, rehabilitation is divided into two types: early and late. The duration of the early rehabilitation period after otoplasty takes about 10 days and is accompanied by pain and swelling. Immediately after the operation is completed, a compression bandage is applied to the head. It is very important to follow the recommendations for wearing this bandage, because it performs such important functions as:

  • fixing the ears in the desired position;
  • protection of the ears from accidental injuries;
  • containment of puffiness and spread of hematoma.

The success of otoplasty and the rehabilitation period largely depend on the wearing of a compression bandage, which is removed only on the recommendation of a plastic surgeon.

Restrictions after otoplasty

For the early period of rehabilitation after otoplasty, there are some limitations. Before the stitches are removed, which is about 7-10 days, it is not recommended to wash your hair in order to avoid infection and it is strictly forbidden for the first 72 hours after the end of the operation. After the doctor removes the stitches, it is better to start washing your hair with baby shampoo, as it contains fewer chemical components that can cause irritation.

It is best to sleep on your back, and to reduce swelling and reduce the likelihood of its spread to surrounding tissues, the sleeping position should be semi-sitting.

The rehabilitation period for otoplasty is also accompanied by the treatment of sutures with antimicrobial agents. This allows you to significantly speed up the process of cell regeneration. In addition, do not forget that physical activity can provoke a divergence of the seams and the appearance of scars.

Late postoperative period

The main task of the late period of rehabilitation after otoplasty is to create the most favorable conditions for the healing of the auricles.

Rehabilitation is completed 25-30 days after the operation and consists of the following items:

  • adherence to dietary nutrition;
  • limiting showers and baths;
  • limitation of physical activity;
  • maintaining a comfortable temperature regime.

For the late period of rehabilitation after otoplasty, a partial loss of sensitivity, a feeling of discomfort and slight swelling are characteristic. All this indicates the unavailability of tissues to perform their functions in full.
