Maxilac represents synbiotic- a complex preparation containing at the same time probiotic and prebiotic. As probiotics, Maxilak contains various types of bifido- and lactobacilli, as well as lactic acid streptococci. And as a prebiotic, Maxilac contains oligofructose.

Maxilak - composition, manufacturer, release forms, names and photos

Currently, the drug is available in two dosage forms:
1. Capsules;
2. Powder for solution for oral administration.

Capsules are simply called Maxilac, and are intended for use by adults and children over 3 years of age. The powder for the preparation of the solution is called Maxilac Baby and is intended for use in children from birth to 3 years. Accordingly, Maxilac capsules in everyday speech are often called "adults", and Maxilac Baby powder is called "children's".

Both forms of the drug are produced by the Polish pharmaceutical concern Genexo Sp. z.o.o. commissioned by the Russian company Segmenta Pharm. In the CIS countries, Maxilac is sold as a drug by Segmenta Pharm OJSC. In fact, this is the same as selling a thing, for example, Sisley, made to order for this corporation in China, India or Bangladesh. The drug is available in packs of 10 capsules or 10 powder sachets (sachets).

The composition of Maxilak and Maxilak Baby as active components are included lyophilized bacteria of normal intestinal microflora human and oligofructose. Bacteria are the probiotic component, while oligofructose is the prebiotic component. In addition to the release form (capsules and powder), Maxilac and Maxilac Baby differ from each other in the dosage of active ingredients. Thus, one capsule of Maxilac contains 63 mg of oligofructose, and one sachet (sachet) of Maxilac Baby contains 1.43 g. 4.5×109 CFU. That is, the capsules contain 4.5 times more bacteria of the normal intestinal microflora compared to the powder.

Also, the composition of bacteria in powder and capsules is somewhat different, since it is selected taking into account the specifics of the microflora of children younger and older than 3 years. The bacterial composition of Maxilac and Maxilac Baby is shown in the table.

As auxiliary components Maxilac Baby contains only corn starch. And Maxilac capsules contain corn starch, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, shellac, alginic acid, gum, triethyl citrate, olive oil and ascorbic acid. The powder inside the capsules or sachet has a fine structure and is colored in various shades of cream or brown.

Maxilak and Maxilak Baby: composition and mechanism of action - video

Therapeutic effects of Maxilac

The therapeutic effects of Maxilac and Maxilac Baby are the same, and are due to the probiotic bacteria and prebiotic oligofructose included in their composition. Capsules and powder have the following therapeutic effects on the body of children and adults:
  • Improved digestion;
  • Elimination of constipation by improving peristalsis;
  • Suppression of the growth of pathogenic microflora (bacteriostatic effect);
  • Normalization of intestinal microflora.
Capsules and powder Maxilac and Maxilac Baby contribute to the restoration of normal intestinal microflora, populating it with the necessary bifidus and lactobacilli and, thereby, provide all of the above therapeutic effects. It is due to the restoration of microflora that diarrhea and constipation are eliminated, digestion is improved and various unpleasant symptoms are relieved, such as flatulence, bloating, rumbling, allergic rashes, etc.

Normal intestinal microflora ensures proper digestion of food, effective absorption of nutrients and vitamins, and also prevents allergic atopic dermatitis, improves immunity and reduces intoxication. Accordingly, a violation of the intestinal microflora (dysbacteriosis) worsens the body's resistance to various infections, increases the risk of developing allergic reactions, worsens digestion, reduces the intake of vitamins and nutrients into the bloodstream, and also provokes dyspeptic symptoms, such as constipation, diarrhea, bloating, etc. .

Maxilak powder and capsules restore the normal intestinal microflora in children and adults, regardless of the cause of dysbacteriosis. The drug is effective for restoring the microflora after diarrhea, as well as the course of antibiotics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and antifungals. When Maxilac is taken simultaneously with drugs from these groups, their negative impact on the intestinal microflora is leveled, that is, after the completion of the course of therapy, a person does not develop dysbacteriosis.

Maxilac and Maxilac Baby effectively restore the intestinal microflora, as they contain probiotics with a prebiotic. Probiotics are bacteria of the normal human microflora that inhabit the intestines, and prebiotics are the substrate for their nutrition and reproduction. That is, when taking Maxilac, a person receives not only bacteria of normal microflora, but also a substance that is optimally suited for their nutrition. And that is why the probiotic bacteria of Maxilac take root so well in the intestines and quickly restore the microflora.

The lactobacilli contained in Maxilac and Maxilac Baby are able to break down lactose, so this drug is very useful for people suffering from lactase deficiency, intolerance to milk or dairy products. In principle, Maxilac capsules and powder for the prevention of dyspepsia can be taken with lactose intolerance after eating any products containing milk sugar. Bifidobacteria in the composition of Maxilac inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria, improve immunity and digestion of food.

Oligofructose accelerates the reproduction of bacteria of normal microflora and inhibits the growth of pathogenic microbes, including those that enter the intestine from the outside, thereby effectively curing intestinal infections. In addition, oligofructose helps to eliminate toxins from the intestines, stimulates peristalsis, and prevents constipation and diarrhea.

All bacteria in the composition of Maxilac are resistant to the action of acidic gastric juice, bile and pancreatic enzymes, and therefore they reach the intestines whole and viable, populating it along its entire length. The integrity of the bacteria is ensured by a capsule made using MURE (Multi Resistant Encapsulation) technology.

Maxilac - indications for use

Indications for the use of Maxilac capsules and Maxilac Baby powder are the same. The only difference between Maxilac and Maxilac Baby is the age at which the drugs are intended for use. So, Maxilak is used for children over 3 years old and adults, and Maxilak Baby is intended exclusively for babies from birth to 3 years old.

The following indications for use are common for Maxilac and Maxilac Baby:

  • As part of complex therapy for functional disorders of the intestines, such as diarrhea, constipation, flatulence (bloating), indigestion, nausea, vomiting, belching and abdominal pain;
  • As a drug - a source of beneficial microorganisms when taking drugs that can disrupt the normal intestinal microflora, such as, for example, antibiotics, antifungals, NSAIDs (for example, Aspirin, Paracetamol, Indomethacin, Ibuprofen, Nimesulide, etc.);
  • Restoration of microflora after intestinal infections;
  • Restoration of microflora after episodes of loose stools, not associated with an intestinal infection;
  • Prevention of intestinal disorders with a sharp change in climate, place of residence or eating habits;
  • Prevention of infection during periods of seasonal epidemics of infectious diseases.
In addition, Maxilac and Maxilac Baby can be used against the background of complete health in the form of a biologically active food supplement as a source of microorganisms that make up the normal intestinal microflora in children and adults. Maxilak and Maxilak Baby as dietary supplements are indicated for use if a person does not consume fermented milk products every day, or eats monotonously.

Instructions for use

Instructions for use capsules Maxilak

Capsules must be taken orally with a small amount of clean water or other drink, with the exception of alcohol. Any drink based on juice, water or milk is suitable for drinking Maxilak (for example, fruit drink, juice, water with jam, kefir, milk, weak tea, compote, etc.), since they do not reduce the effectiveness of the drug and do not have a negative effect on beneficial bifido- and lactobacilli. The capsule must be swallowed whole, without opening or chewing it.

If for some reason it is not possible to swallow the capsule whole, then it is necessary to carefully open it and pour the contents into a glass. Then pour milk or clean non-carbonated drinking water into it and stir well so that the powder from the capsule dissolves. Drink the resulting solution immediately after preparation.

Capsules are recommended for children from 3 years of age and adults of both sexes. If the child has already reached the age of 3, then it is recommended to give him Maxilac in capsules, and not in powder. However, if it is difficult for a child older than 3 years to swallow a capsule, then you can give him Maxilac Baby powder in a double dosage.

A prophylactic course of taking Maxilak as a dietary supplement can be carried out from 10 to 30 days in a row, taking one capsule per day with meals.

If necessary, preventive and therapeutic courses of Maxilac can be repeated, observing intervals between them equal in duration to the duration of taking the drug.

Maxilak Baby - instructions for use

Maxilac Baby powder is in hermetically sealed sachets (sachets), which must be dissolved in pure non-carbonated drinking water, milk or baby food. The liquid used as a solvent (milk, water, etc.) for Maxilac Baby powder must be heated to 36 - 37 o C before use, so that it is slightly warm, but in no case hot. The powder immediately before use must be dissolved in a small amount of warm liquid, and given to the child to drink during meals or immediately after he eats.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the possibility of prophylactic use of Maxilac and Maxilac Baby during planned trips to other countries. In this case, it is recommended to start giving the child the drug 4 to 5 days before the date of departure and then for another 3 to 5 days after arrival at the destination. With this application, Maxilac prevents various digestive disorders associated with a change in habitual food and place of residence.

Most often, parents gave children Maxilac or Maxilac Baby in order to normalize the intestinal microflora and increase immunity after past illnesses or a course of treatment with antibiotics or antiviral agents. Young children are most often given Maxilac to eliminate allergic reactions or stop diathesis. In both cases, the drugs are very effective.

It is recommended that children take 1 capsule of Maxilac or 1 sachet of Maxilac Baby powder per day for 10 to 30 days in a row. The duration of the drug depends on the rate of normalization of the child's condition and the disappearance of painful symptoms.

Maxilak during pregnancy

During pregnancy, you can take Maxilac capsules without any restrictions, since the drug is safe and does not adversely affect the growth and development of the fetus. Pregnant women take Maxilac to eliminate the same conditions or diseases as men or non-pregnant women.

Maxilac in early pregnancy reduces the severity of toxicosis, therefore, it can be taken as a symptomatic therapy. At all other stages of pregnancy, Maxilac is recommended for irritable bowel syndrome, habitual constipation, after any illness or in conjunction with antibiotics.

To eliminate constipation, Maxilac is recommended to take 1 capsule per day in courses lasting 10 to 15 days. Such courses are repeated after 15 to 20 days if necessary. For the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, Maxilac is also taken 1 capsule per day for 20 to 30 days in combination with other drugs. To eliminate dysbacteriosis and after past illnesses, it is recommended to take 1 capsule per day for 10 to 30 days. Moreover, the duration of the course of treatment depends on the rate of normalization of the intestines.

If a pregnant woman takes antibiotics, antiviral or antifungal agents, then at the same time it is recommended to drink Maxilak 1 capsule per day to prevent dysbacteriosis and speed up recovery. In this case, Maxilac is taken during the entire course of antibiotic treatment and after its completion, plus another 5 to 10 days.

Separately, the possibility of using Maxilac in the complex therapy and prevention of thrush (candidiasis) in pregnant women should be highlighted. The fact is that the normal intestinal microflora reduces the risk of developing thrush and significantly reduces the recurrence of the disease in pregnant and non-pregnant women due to the constant migration of lactic acid bacteria from the colon through the soft tissues into the vagina. That is, lactic acid bacteria from the colon constantly maintain a population of those in the vagina, preventing dysbacteriosis from forming. Accordingly, if normal microflora is not maintained in the intestine, then lactic acid bacteria do not migrate into the vagina, which also contribute to the preservation of normal biocenosis and the prevention of dysbacteriosis. Before use, you should consult with a specialist.

Maxilak baby properties

A biologically active food supplement is not a medicine.

Synbiotic (probiotic + prebiotic)

The development and strengthening of the child's immunity are associated with the formation of its intestinal microflora.

Microorganisms inhabit the organs and systems of a person, starting from his birth. The child, passing through the birth canal of the mother, receives protective beneficial bacteria from her, and this microbial colonization is one of the most important stages in the formation of the normal microflora of the gastrointestinal tract. Babies born by caesarean section are thought to be more prone to infections, colonize their gut later with beneficial bacteria, and may be more susceptible to other diseases.

An equally important stage in the formation of microflora is the period of breastfeeding. During this period of life, the child receives mother's milk, which ensures the formation of normal intestinal microflora. Mother's milk contains lactose, lysozyme, immunoglobulins, as well as bifidogenic components that promote the growth of bifidobacteria. All these are indispensable components that every baby needs for the formation of normal intestinal microflora. Already after the first year of life, the composition of the intestinal microflora of the child in terms of quantitative and qualitative composition approaches those of adults.

Why is it so important to take care of the balance of the intestinal microflora from the first days of a child's life?

The intestine is the largest defense system of the body, and its microflora performs many functions: it protects the intestine from the colonization of unusual bacteria, stimulates the immune system, prevents the development of allergies (including atopic dermatitis) and inflammatory processes in the intestine, enhances the production of interferons, synthesizes vitamins groups B, A, K, folic acid, reduces intoxication of the body as a whole.

What factors can contribute to the violation of the intestinal microflora?

Caesarean section during childbirth 1

Artificial feeding (milk formulas) 2

Taking certain medications

Diarrhea

It has been proven that some groups of drugs have a direct effect on the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract:

- antibiotics- successfully fight pathogenic microorganisms, but at the same time kill beneficial bacteria. Every 3rd case of taking antibiotics causes diarrhea 3 ;

- non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(including drugs containing paracetamol) - can cause damage to the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines, lead to inflammation, ulceration and erosion 4;

- antifungal agents - may have side effects such as decreased appetite, nausea, constipation or diarrhea, flatulence, abdominal pain 5 .

An attack of diarrhea is accompanied by a partial leaching of the microflora from the intestines of the child.

What are the symptoms of intestinal microflora disorders?

Symptoms of a violation of the intestinal microflora are: diarrhea (diarrhea), dyspepsia (indigestion), constipation, flatulence (bloating), nausea, belching, vomiting, discomfort and pain in the abdomen, etc.

One way to form and restore microflora is to eat pro- and prebiotics.

Probiotics 6 - live microorganisms, representatives of the human normal flora, correcting the intestinal microflora (lacto- and bifidobacteria).

Prebiotics 6 - food ingredients, predominantly oligosaccharides. When it enters the large intestine, it contributes to the growth and development of normal intestinal microflora.

Synbiotics 6 - ingredients that are a combination of pro- and prebiotics. They have a mutually reinforcing effect on the metabolic processes in the human body.

Maxilac ® Baby is the first and only synbiotic 7 that contains 9 (nine) cultures of beneficial bacteria in the concentration necessary for the child's intestines - 1 billion (1×10 9) CFU 8 .

Synbiotic Maxilac ® Baby helps to restore and normalize the intestinal microflora in children (from 4 months), especially in situations associated with the use of drugs that disrupt the balance of the microflora of the child's gastrointestinal tract.

Bifidobacteria, which are also part of the synbiotic Maxilac ® Baby, are involved in the synthesis of amino acids, proteins and vitamins, enhance the absorption of calcium, iron, vitamin D ions.

Fructo-oligosaccharides (a prebiotic in Maxilac ® Baby) stimulate the rapid reproduction of beneficial bacteria and inhibit the development of pathogenic ones, reduce intestinal contamination with toxins and improve its functioning, stimulate peristalsis, cleanse toxins, serve to prevent constipation and diarrhea, and contribute to the normalization of the functions of the gastrointestinal tract 9 .

Maxilac ® Baby is a synbiotic specially created for children and produced in the form of a lyophilisate, the granules of which are protected by Micro MURE ® technology (Multi Resistant Encapsulation 10). This technology protects Maxilac ® Baby granules from the action of internal and external environmental factors, due to which most of the probiotic bacteria in the Maxilac ® Baby preparation enter the intestines, and do not dissolve in the stomach, which has a positive effect on the restoration of the gastrointestinal microflora, t.to. the concentration of colonies of microorganisms increases from the stomach to the large intestine 11 .

Maxilac ® Baby does not contain casein and preservatives, so it is safe for children with allergies to products of this group. Maxilak ® Baby can be used by children with lactose intolerance.
