Folk recipes for the treatment of sciatica aloe. Treatment of sciatica at home. Natural remedies for external use

The sciatic nerve originates in the lumbar spine. This department carries a huge functional load, because most of it falls on it. Then the sciatic nerve goes to the leg and already there it branches into smaller nerve endings.

Inflammation of the sciatic nerve is not a pleasant feeling. It is felt by many people by freezing a nerve or simply pulling it. In order not to resort to medications, the treatment of the sciatic nerve can also be carried out in folk ways.

  • discomfort when pressed;
  • tingling and burning along the nerve;
  • muscle weakness;
  • a feeling of "goosebumps", numbness in the area of \u200b\u200binflammation.

Most often, the sciatic nerve becomes inflamed when pinched, but back injuries, hypothermia, or damage to the ligamentous apparatus can also cause discomfort. Before you go to the clinic, you should pay attention to folk remedies, treatment by these methods is no worse than traditional medicine methods.

Pinching of the sciatic nerve. Treatment with folk remedies

Most often pinched nerve in the spine occurs at the time of physical activity, especially in cases where the load is not properly distributed on the bones and ligaments that form the movable skeleton of the human body. At the moment of overstretching, the nerve root is pinched, and at the site of this microtrauma, reactive edema grows very quickly and a focus of inflammation is formed, which further contributes to nerve compression. Thus, a pathological reaction is triggered, requiring measures to eliminate it, which takes a long time.

How to treat a pinched nerve

Products for external use.

When treating a pinched nerve by any means, first of all, it is required to put the victim in the position in which he will feel the least pain and limit, if possible, the active and passive movements of the victim. A good way to reduce the intensity of pain is to apply any source of heat - here you can use heating pads, and bags of heated sand, and warm compresses, and patches that have a warming and locally irritating effect.

You can use red pepper tincture, garlic tincture, pepper patch for such compresses or rubbing. An ointment that consists of fir oil and valerian tincture, which can be purchased at a pharmacy, will also be effective. The components should be taken in a ratio of 2:1, shake well before use and apply to the skin over the area of pain at least 2-3 times a day, after which the lubricated area should be well wrapped.

Means for oral administration.

In addition to external means, in the arsenal of traditional medicine there are drugs that are taken orally. Their action is aimed at the central mechanisms of pain formation, at the removal of edema and inflammatory reactions, which are necessarily formed around the damaged nerve root.

A fairly effective remedy that has not only an analgesic, but also a decongestant effect, is barberry fruit tincture which can be prepared ahead of time. This remedy contains a large amount of B vitamins, which relieve pain and swelling in the sheaths of nerve cells. To prepare the tincture, fresh berries are taken, which are poured into a glass container, and then filled to the top with medical alcohol. The tincture is prepared for 2 weeks in a warm and dark room.

The leaves and fruits of barberry can be part of a complex collection, which also includes horsetail grass, strawberry leaves, knotweed grass, which are taken in equal proportions and mixed. Two spoons of the finished collection fall asleep in a thermos. Add 2 cups of boiling water and leave for at least 4 hours. Filter and take orally half a glass after each meal.

Is there some more traditional medicine recipes tested by people :

1) You need to grate a raw potato, squeeze the juice, and add a little kerosene. It turns out a potato mass with the consistency of thick sour cream (the main thing is not to overdo it with the addition of kerosene, because the skin can be burned, be careful). Apply this mixture on a sore spot (lower back), be sure to first lubricate this place with sunflower oil to avoid burns from kerosene. Healing comes quickly, but you need to endure a slight burning sensation for several hours. Some who apply this recipe the next day quickly get up and go about their normal work.

2) This recipe is also very good!

In a meat grinder, you need to grind a fresh small horseradish root, about half a glass, then add the same amount of raw grated potatoes and one tablespoon of honey. First, lubricate the lower back, as in the first case, with sunflower oil, then apply (it is possible through gauze) this mixture with a layer of 1-1.5 cm, cover with a plastic bag, and a blanket on top. Lie down like this for an hour. At first it will burn, but then quickly everything will pass. To fix this procedure, you can carry out another day.

Health and prosperity to you dear readers!

Sincerely, Nina!

In some cases, the pain goes to both legs at once. Sometimes pinching is limited to only a slight tingling in this area, numbness of the limbs. In any case, this disease is a consequence of the inflammatory process that forms in the roots of the spine in the lumbosacral region.

Causes of the disease

There are a lot of reasons for the occurrence of infringement of the sciatic nerve. This may be a consequence of severe overexertion after the hard physical work done. Also, inflammatory processes in the roots of the spinal cord can begin after the human body has been very supercooled. Finally, infectious diseases can be sources of sciatica development.

Sciatic neuralgia, or sciatica, is characterized by pain in the area of the sciatic nerve and its branches, occurs mainly in middle-aged and elderly people. The cause can be various infections, intoxications, as well as injuries, diseases of the spine and joints, gynecological and urological diseases, cooling and physical overstrain.

The pain that occurs with sciatica is felt in the lower back and in the leg along the sciatic nerve and its branches, and this is the back of the thigh, lower leg, heel and outer surface of the foot. The extension of the leg becomes sharply painful, pain in the lower back and leg also increases with bending the head forward, coughing and sneezing. The pain is accompanied by sensations of coldness of the leg, numbness of the skin, a feeling of goosebumps crawling over the skin. The muscles of the sore leg lose their tone and become flabby.

Treating sciatica takes time and persistence. A strong massage with some sharp ointments helps well, followed by warming up the sore spots. It is necessary to massage for 30-35 minutes, if possible every day or every other day. Massage can be replaced with dry cups on the sacrum and back of the thigh. Of the ointments, they work well: a volatile ointment, consisting of one part of ammonia and two parts of some vegetable oil, as well as a special ointment with belladonna and mustard oil.

Apply pads filled with elderberry and chamomile flowers to sore spots. Lightly moisten the mixture of flowers with boiling water, then heat it strongly in a saucepan and put it in a bag, which is applied to the sore spot and bandaged.

Rub the sore spot for a month daily with bear fat.

Russian village doctors had a good remedy for the treatment of sciatica - stearin. It should be dissolved and hot, using a wide paint brush, spread on sore spots in layers: layer by layer, up to 40 layers. It will burn strongly, but it has been tested many times that it does not damage the skin. You can first try to see if the patient can withstand this temperature. If not, then the stearin can be slightly cooled. Very often, only 2-3 sessions are enough.

Rub the places affected by sciatica with the juice of a houseplant agave, not very young, but not very old, so as not to burn the skin. Wash the agave leaf, cut it closer to the trunk, cut off the thorns, divide it flat and rub the sore spot with juice: the first time - lightly to check the sensitivity of the skin, and if it tolerates normally, then you can rub it intensively, but not for long. Perform rubbing 1-2 times a day.

Mix 100 ml of vinegar essence and 50 ml of vodka, dip three packs of steel needles into this liquid and wait until the needles dissolve, then pour in a little 50 g of mercury ointment and rub until an even homogeneous mass is obtained. Then add 50 g of ichthyol ointment, 25 g of bodyagi in powder, 3 kg of internal pork fat, a glass of liquid bodyagi, a glass of formic alcohol. It is good to mix everything and rub the sore spots at night, then wrap them with something warm.

In case of chronic sciatica, Siberian healers advised regularly twice a week to go to a Russian or Finnish bath and steam the sore spots very strongly with a birch broom.

Wear, without removing, directly on the naked body, red flannel or knitted woolen pants.

With sciatica, baths from a decoction of oat straw (0.5-1 kg per bath), as well as baths from a decoction of young aspen bark, are useful.

Sciatica is an inflammatory syndrome of the sciatic nerve, which is considered the largest in the human body. A characteristic feature of this disease is severe aching pain, which lasts a long time and intensifies every minute. Symptoms are a feeling of numbness, "running" goosebumps, pulling pain along the diseased limb, and a feeling of cold is also possible.

This ailment can suddenly appear due to the following symptoms:

  • lifting various weights;
  • sharp turns and inclinations;
  • hypothermia;
  • transferred acute infectious diseases.

Sciatica treatment with folk remedies - ways

How to treat sciatica that suddenly restricts motor activity? In itself, therapeutic measures consist mainly in conservative treatment, and this is not only traditional medicine with all kinds of rubbing, compresses and tinctures, but also various methods of hardening character.

When diagnosing sciatica: exercises are an integral part of conservative treatment. Performing gymnastic exercises, thereby you increase muscle tone, which in turn relieves the spine of excessive pressure. Classes should begin gradually and continue daily, especially if the attack has already overtaken. A set of necessary exercises should be obtained in the exercise therapy room strictly individually. Walking refers to the main exercise of the patient, which has a positive effect, helping to strengthen the back and abdominals.

Gymnastics for sciatica is, first of all, stretching. It is stretching that is the key point in the prevention of treatment, in which muscle contraction and relaxation occur. Consider another gymnastic technique: lying on your back, grab your knees with your hands and slowly pull each to the opposite shoulder, lingering in this position for 5-6 seconds. The duration of the exercise can be increased each time. Swimming is also a great exercise to maintain normal muscle tone. And the more often, the longer your back will be in good shape.

Getting rid of extra pounds will help relieve the load on the spinal system, thereby reducing the risk of degenerative-dystrophic changes that can cause sciatica.

Vitaminization of the body also helps to cure this disease:

  • vitamins of group B, which contribute to the process of regeneration of tissues of the sciatic nerve;
  • vitamins C and E, which prevent tissue deformation;
  • various multivitamins, foods containing nutrients that somewhat reduce subsequent inflammation.

From traditional medicine, there are several methods of treatment:
Cabbage leaves compress: place cabbage leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until elastic, apply in a softened form to a sore spot and wrap up warmer, the duration of the procedure depends on the patient.

Compress with beeswax: the wax is heated to a smooth state and applied to the affected area. For maximum effect, you need to cover yourself with a blanket and lie down for a long time, a week of such procedures will save you from sciatica.

Rubbing with turpentine and camphor oil.

Treatment of sciatica at home

The fight against this disease within the walls of the house provides for several simple rules:

  1. Maintaining the correct posture is not only beautiful, but also relieves pain from sciatica. Impeccable posture relieves muscle tension and makes the maximum number of muscles work.
  1. Sit less and spend more time smarter. It is preferable to sit on a hard chair with a back.
  1. Try not to sleep on your stomach, preferably on your back, putting a rolled up blanket under your calves, or even better, curled up and tucked your legs up to your stomach.

Massage for sciatica is also an addition to the treatment, which should be started from the tips of the feet. Relief comes after five sessions, that's when the capillaries begin to expand, and the bones react in response. Massage is usually painful, but be patient, you can also use ointments with a warming effect.

It is worth highlighting that with the diagnosis of sciatica - treatment with folk remedies also implies special care, punctuality and caution of the patient in the applied therapeutic measures. Do not self-medicate without the advice of an experienced specialist.

Sciatica. What to do if the pain "shoots"

Treatment of sciatica with folk remedies at home is gaining more and more popularity due to the simplicity of the methods. However, due to the seriousness of the problem, even for home treatment, a doctor's consultation is necessary, because prolonged pinching of the nerve in the movable sciatic area can lead to various pathologies, up to disability.

Sciatica is a condition in which there is a sudden pinching of the femur on the sciatic nerve. As a result, severe pain occurs almost instantly. In this state, a person is unable to work, and often even move around. Pain is concentrated in the lumbar region. However, gradually the pain expands, covering the areas of the thigh and gluteal muscle from the side of the injury. In some cases, pain can even radiate to the foot area.

In addition, sciatica has an effect on the side of the body that has not been damaged. Very often, the opposite side of the pinching becomes numb or a tingling sensation begins in this part of the body. Sometimes such manifestations of pathology become so intense that they practically immobilize a person. Despite the fact that in the process of pinching the nerve remains intact, the inflammatory process develops quite quickly, accompanied by increased pain.

In addition, sciatica is accompanied by the following symptoms:

  • a slight increase in body temperature, not exceeding 38 0 C. The cause of this phenomenon is the inflammatory process at the site of pinching;
  • a decrease or a sharp increase in the sensitivity of the damaged area of the body;
  • the appearance of noticeable lameness;
  • muscle weakness on the side of the injury.

Elevated body temperature with sciatica is easily knocked down by conventional antipyretic drugs.

The reasons

Before starting the procedure for treating sciatica, it is very important to determine the cause of the development of this pathology. Most often, the problem occurs due to such phenomena:

  • mechanical damage to the hip muscles or bone tissue;
  • too intense or exorbitant physical activity;
  • the presence of an intervertebral hernia;
  • osteochondrosis;
  • infections of various types;
  • instability and displacement of the discs of the spine during pregnancy or with a sharp significant weight gain;
  • hypothermia;
  • the presence of blood clots in the blood vessels;
  • abscess;
  • diabetes;
  • oncological education.

The importance of identifying the root cause lies in a special approach to the treatment of various pathologies. Sciatica, provoked by infectious diseases or pathologies that are in the nature of inflammation, require exclusively complex therapy, which includes medication, acupuncture, and a visit to a physiotherapy room.

First aid

In view of the particularly severe pain that accompanies pinching and almost complete immobility at the same time, the patient needs urgent first aid. In this situation, even patients who are strict adherents of alternative medicine should use drugs that can anesthetize and relieve inflammation. In such situations, with sciatica, Nurofen or Ibuprofen is most often used. In this case, the patient must be carefully laid on a flat hard surface on the stomach. During this period, it is strictly forbidden to use rubbing, massages, and also apply compresses, since such actions will only increase pain and can increase tissue inflammation.

Already after the improvement of the condition, the patient with sciatica can be carefully shifted to the back. In this case, pillows or a folded blanket should be placed under the buttocks and lower back. If within 30 minutes the patient does not feel better, it is imperative to call an ambulance.

Treatment with folk remedies

The importance of a diet for sciatica can hardly be overestimated, since even a couple of extra pounds can seriously aggravate the patient's condition by creating an additional load on the pinched nerve.

With such a pathology as sciatica, treatment with folk remedies quite often gives a positive result. However, for this it is important to follow a few general, but mandatory rules:

  1. The sitting position of the body should not last longer than 2 hours in a row;
