Barotherapy: the principle of action and the effect of the procedure

A variety of diseases helps to treat one of the developing methods - barotherapy.

This is a treatment with an air gas environment and its components that act on the body by reducing or increasing pressure.

Therapy is carried out in pressure chambers, which can be for one or more people.

How hyperbaric oxygen therapy works

One of the most popular types of barotherapy is hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO). Thanks to this method, under increased pressure, the body is saturated with oxygen.

Oxygen is essential for human life and for the good functioning of cells. In the event of a lack of oxygen, oxygen starvation can develop - hypoxia, which leads to malfunctions in the cells, then tissues and then to their death.

Many people know that oxygen starvation contributes to the development of pathological processes in any inflammation, but if this cause is eliminated, then some diseases may disappear.

Malignant formations also appear where there is enough oxygen, and they feel very good in such an environment. HBO was opened back in 1955, and during this time managed to establish itself from the excellent side.

How does hyperbaric oxygen therapy work? Hyperoxia facilitates the diffusion of oxygen into cells, due to which oxidative phosphorylation becomes active and synthesizing macroergs become larger, microsomal oxidation also improves, elimination of toxic substances is stimulated, glucose oxidation is accelerated and lactose levels decrease.

That is, if there are violations in the patency of blood vessels or a violation of the exchange of oxygen in the blood, then many organs can suffer from this.

But due to HBO, oxygen is sent with the blood flow, getting into every, even the most distant, cell of the body. This helps the cells to recover and not be destroyed further. And others that cannot be restored will be destroyed and will begin to be replaced by new ones.

Artificial high pressure in the pressure chamber leads to oxygen saturation of the blood more than in ordinary human life. Receiving the required fuel, the tissues begin the recovery process. This applies to all tissues - muscle, bone, nervous, cartilage and even fat.

Due to the treatment with barotherapy, the body switches to an economical level of work. Respiration and heart rate become less frequent, the volume of blood circulation per minute decreases, but the functioning of the plasma capillaries improves, which leads to a good work of the cerebral cortex.

Interestingly, the influence of hyperbaric oxygen does not stop at the end of the session. Because after therapy, tissue changes do not return to their previous state, although the oxygen tension in the blood drops to the previous level within 20-30 minutes.

Rules for the procedure in the pressure chamber

When the doctor finds indications for the use of barotherapy and no contraindications are identified, they begin treatment. Typically, the course includes 22-25 sessions, which are held no more than five times a week, but can reach up to 60 sessions.

The degree of air rarefaction consists of the following developed stages:

  1. The first stage lasts two days, during this period the pressure in the device decreases as if a person is climbing to a height of 2000 m, which is equal to 597 mm Hg. st;
  2. The next stage lasts from 3 to 5 sessions. During this time, the air in the pressure chamber is even more discharged and equals the height of 2500 m above ground level, for the pressure chamber it is 560 mm Hg. st;
  3. Then, from 6 to 12 procedures, the air is discharged to such an extent that it equals 3000 m in height;
  4. The last stage begins with the 13th procedure and goes on until the end of the entire treatment. The pressure at these pores is compared with a height of 3500 m above ground level.

The duration of one procedure is not more than 60 minutes. During this period, a person experiences the influence of rarefied air for about 8-10 minutes, and then the so-called period of presence at a height begins.

In which, in 25-30 minutes, the stage of treatment that is necessary passes. Then the pressure equalizes with the environment for 12-18 minutes.

A person, depending on the disease, is exposed to either low or high atmospheric pressure.

Barotherapy is good because it can be combined with other treatments, such as medication. During treatment in a pressure chamber, often, the intake of drugs is reduced several times, and sometimes it is not required at all.

For treatment, the person completely undresses, puts on a hospital gown or covers himself with a towel. Then the patient lies down on a couch, which moves out into a pressure chamber about 2.13 meters long. During therapy, you need to relax and breathe calmly, receiving the required amount of oxygen.

Indications for use

As in the treatment of any method, there are indications and contraindications, so here. This method can be used to treat many diseases, and just for prevention, but most of all it is used for respiratory ailments.

The pressure chamber is used for such diseases:

  • Infectious, chronic. It can be treated for both children and adults, not older than 45;
  • Bronchial asthma in remission, but with the possibility of exacerbation. Used as a prophylaxis;
  • Decompression sickness or it is also called the disease of divers;
  • Inflammatory, non-purulent diseases of the upper respiratory tract;
  • Whooping cough and hay fever;
  • Pleurisy, tracheitis, endarteritis;
  • Allergic ailments in the form of dermatitis;
  • Hyperbaric oxygenation is used for diseases of the cardiac system - endocrine disorders;
  • Contraindications
    1. With a severe course of bronchial asthma, with the manifestation of pulmonary heart failure;
    2. pneumosclerosis;
    3. Pleural adhesions;

    13. Toxic brain damage.

    Conclusion

    Hyperbaric chambers are widely used by doctors in medical institutions and sanatoriums.

    An amazing mechanism that allows you to saturate the body with oxygen can prolong not only the life of cells, but also the life of a person.

    Therefore, it is important to consult an experienced doctor, for the best effect and because of undesirable consequences.

The main resource that provides life on Earth is oxygen, without which all life on the planet would die. At the same time, lack of oxygen is the main source of development of most diseases, as well as disruption of the functioning of internal organs and systems. In this regard, the invention of the pressure chamber, as one of the most effective tools of physiotherapy, has led to a breakthrough in non-drug treatment. It should be noted that the pressure chamber today is a widespread apparatus, with the help of which a huge number of diseases are treated in different countries.

Oxygen pressure chamber - what is it?

An oxygen pressure chamber is a special medical device that is used for therapeutic purposes and looks like a bathyscaphe. The very first capsule was developed back in 1995, after which the equipment is very popular. By itself, the design of the chamber is a glass or sealed capsule made from any other material, on the walls of which there are windows.

The peculiarity of this equipment is that inside the capsule the air is saturated with oxygen. At the same time, as part of the procedure, the patient is simply placed inside the apparatus and is there in a prone position for a certain time. During the whole session, the patient, lying on his back, breathes virtually pure oxygen, which has a healing effect and restores the body's work at the cellular level.

It should be noted that inside the chamber there are special sensors that allow you to control the level of oxygen in the air, as well as the pressure inside the chamber. For this reason, the doctor or medical worker must accompany the patient throughout the session, being nearby and watching him through the porthole windows. The duration of one procedure can vary from 20 minutes to an hour, despite the fact that the course of treatment lasts at least five days.

You should also be prepared for the fact that during the session, due to the inhalation of oxygenated air, you may experience slight dizziness and slight discomfort, for this reason, a medical worker must be on duty outside all the time. It is also important to note that in the cell a person should be dressed only in a paper robe. Any foreign object entering the capsule may cause fire and explosion.

What are the benefits of barotherapy for the body

In the process of being in the pressure chamber, the patient's body is saturated with oxygen, which feeds every cell through the blood. With a number of diseases associated with disruption of the cardiovascular system, blood flow is disturbed, as the vessels begin to conduct blood poorly, which most often occurs with thrombosis, atherosclerotic changes and edema. In such a situation, the liquid tissue does not enter the required volume to the organs that require nutrition - this phenomenon is called hypoxia.

When a person is in a pressure chamber, his blood is saturated with oxygen, which is an activator of cellular regeneration. Thus, during the procedure, blood circulation improves, damaged tissues are restored and renewed during therapy, and dead cells are removed from the body, being replaced by new ones. This whole process is like a complex rejuvenation and restoration of the body, leading to external and functional changes.

It is also important to note that within the framework of the capsule, the atmospheric pressure familiar to everyone has been changed - it is much higher, which increases the productivity of the procedure. The peculiarity of this condition is that pure oxygen begins to circulate through the bloodstream faster than it does under normal conditions. As a result, the most remote tissues that are in dire need of it receive nutrition.

It should be noted that absolutely all types of tissues are involved in the regeneration process, from nervous to cartilaginous. In medicine, the pressure chamber is also often used as a tool for the regulation of body fat. During the procedure, excess fat is burned, and the fats necessary for catalyzing metabolic and energy processes are used.

What does the pressure chamber treat: indications for use

The described procedure is often used in medical practice as a method of treating diseases associated with impaired blood circulation. It should be noted that a change in capillary circulation is characteristic of a large number of ailments, not only those associated with the work of the cardiovascular system. Also, the method of hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be shown as a procedure for the overall improvement of the health of each person.

It is especially important to answer that in the course of saturation of each cell of the body with oxygen, the barrier properties of the body, the work of the immune system significantly increase, which is an effective method of prevention. Even one session significantly strengthens the immune system, after which seasonal infectious diseases are not terrible, and chronic ailments go into remission.

Thus, it is necessary to more clearly describe the indications for conducting a session of hyperbaric oxygenation in a pressure chamber:

  • various dermatological diseases, including furunculosis, psoriasis, dermatitis and degenerative processes in the form of bedsores;
  • metabolic disorders, anemia, diabetes mellitus;
  • the procedure is indicated for endometriosis;
  • it is recommended to undergo treatment in a pressure chamber for stroke, atherosclerosis and a number of cardiovascular diseases;
  • cirrhosis of the liver;
  • peptic ulcer of the stomach and intestines;
  • disruption of the digestive tract;
  • mental illnesses, including progressive diseases due to poor cerebral circulation, etc.

Doctors also advise undergoing treatment in a pressure chamber for intoxication in case of carbon monoxide poisoning and other toxic substances. At the same time, any traumatic or pathological phenomena that are associated with a violation of blood oxygen saturation are an indication for the treatment process through hyperbaric oxygenation. It is actively practiced to visit the pressure chamber during postoperative rehabilitation, as well as the recovery of athletes after injuries and exhausting training.

Why is HBO needed during pregnancy?

Much has already been written about the procedure of hyperbaric oxygenation, especially about the benefits of this procedure for humans, but now it is necessary to describe the specifics of treatment in a pressure chamber during pregnancy. As part of this, it should immediately be noted that during this period of life, the pressure chamber is not dangerous, but it is better not to visit it without specific reasons for this. In addition, the procedure may be available to expectant mothers only after the 12th week of pregnancy.

In the case of attending a rehabilitation event, women who are carrying a child may experience the following effect:

  • increases the level of immunity;
  • intracranial pressure normalizes;
  • the respiratory center is stimulated;
  • improves metabolism, etc.

This procedure can have a positive effect on the child growing in the womb, especially when the pregnancy is problematic. An unconditional indication of such therapy during pregnancy will be dysfunction or impaired formation of the placenta. At the same time, there are a number of other problems that require additional exposure to the mother's body.

It should be noted that during the normal course of pregnancy, the fetus has enough of everything and additional oxygen will not help the baby much. Some doctors believe that the pressure chamber will be useful for newborns in the future, since the additional oxygen received in the prenatal period of development helps to better adapt and experience less stress at the time of birth, but this statement is considered rather controversial.

The pressure chamber will bring the greatest benefit if there is such a common problem as fetal hypoxia. There can be a lot of reasons for this phenomenon, but if the necessary measures are not taken in time, this condition can have extremely negative consequences for unborn children. Thus, if a future woman in labor has problems such as diabetes mellitus or heart disease, then it will be necessary to visit the pressure chamber even for preventive purposes.

Possible harm from treatment in a pressure chamber

In the event that the procedure is carried out as prescribed by a doctor and there are no contraindications to its implementation, then there will be absolutely no harm from hyperbaric oxygenation. For this reason, before signing up for a recovery session in a pressure chamber, it is necessary to consult with a specialist.

Contraindications for hyperbaric oxygen therapy

Unfortunately, there is no single panacea in the world that would save you from all diseases and have no contraindications, this also includes hyperbaric oxygenation. There are a number of ailments in which it is better to refuse to visit the pressure chamber, as this can lead to a deterioration in the general condition of the sick patient:

  • acute respiratory diseases;
  • epilepsy;
  • fear of closed space;
  • cysts, cystomas and abscesses;
  • arterial hypertension;
  • respiratory failure through the nose due to degenerative and inflammatory processes, etc.

A person can live without water and food from several days to several weeks, but it is enough to cut off the supply of oxygen for one or two minutes and death occurs. Oxygen deficiency for tissues and organs is detrimental. known fact...

If any pathology occurs in the body, the supply of oxygen to the diseased organ is hindered. This is due to vasospasm, tissue edema, inflammation, or due to a decrease in the level of hemoglobin in the blood, which delivers oxygen to the organs. When oxygen delivery is impaired, it develops hypoxia(oxygen starvation).

There are various types of oxygen therapy (oxygen therapy) available to treat these conditions. However, at normal atmospheric pressure, even breathing pure oxygen is often unable to eliminate hypoxia at the cellular level.

The only way to increase the amount of oxygen carried in the blood is by using a pressure chamber. In a hyperbaric chamber, with an increase in atmospheric pressure, oxygen penetrates better into tissues (under pressure, gases dissolve better in liquids). This method is called hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO). Thus, using a pressure chamber, it is possible to eliminate oxygen starvation in a diseased organ, restore its function and resistance to pathogenic factors. In addition, according to observations, during HBO treatment sessions, in humans increase the adaptive capacity of the body and reduce the risk of disease.

What does the pressure chamber treat?

The range of diseases in which the use of the HBO method is indicated is quite wide. Oxygen therapy is especially effective in the following pathologies:

  • Vascular: obliterating diseases of the vessels of the extremities, trophic ulcers as a result of circulatory disorders, gas embolism of blood vessels, etc.
  • Cardiac: coronary heart disease (CHD), angina pectoris, arrhythmias, extrasystoles, heart failure, decompensation of postinfarction conditions.
  • Gastrointestinal tract: peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, posthemorrhagic syndrome after gastric bleeding, bowel disease.
  • Liver: acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, liver failure.
  • Central and nervous system: ischemic stroke, traumatic brain injury, encephalopathy, spinal cord injury.
  • Ophthalmic: circulatory disorders of the retina, diabetic retinopathy, optic nerve degeneration in case of poisoning with methyl alcohol.
  • Endocrine system: decompensated insulin-dependent diabetes, complications of diabetes, diffuse toxic goiter.
  • Maxillofacial: periodontal disease, necrotizing gingivitis and stomatitis, healing after plastic surgery.
  • Obstetric: intrauterine fetal hypoxia, threatened miscarriage, fetal malnutrition, immunoconflict pregnancy, pregnancy with concomitant pathology, pathology of the endocrine system in women, infertility of various etiologies.
  • Wound: prevention of wound infection, sluggishly granulating wounds, burn wound surfaces, frostbite, postoperative wounds in plastic surgery and others.
  • Poisoning: poisoning with carbon monoxide, methemoglobin-forming substances, cyanides.
  • caisson diseases, air and gas embolism.
  • Marked improvement noted sexual function in elderly men after the end of the course of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. And also in the treatment of prostatitis, chronic inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs in women.
  • Radiation injuries: radiation osteonecrosis, myelitis, enteritis; a special group is made up of patients receiving chemotherapy and radiation therapy for oncological diseases.
  • In recent years, in addition to the above situations, this method has been used to treat various conditions. In narcology there is a successful experience of using the pressure chamber for the relief of withdrawal symptoms.
  • The use of HBO therapy is recommended before and after surgery: the patient quickly and painlessly comes out of anesthesia, the healing time is significantly reduced and the risk of complications is reduced. This is the basis for the widespread use of HBO in cosmetology and plastic surgery.
  • In sports medicine impressive results have been obtained in terms of increasing the level of fitness of athletes and accelerating recovery after training loads.
  • In healthy people The application of the method of hyperbaric oxygenation is based on the unique complex effect of oxygen under high pressure, which significantly increases the adaptive capacity of the organism. HBO normalizes many body systems, reduces the risk of disease.

Sessions in the pressure chamber: relieve fatigue; restore strength after hard work; increase muscle tone; have an anti-stress general strengthening and tonic effect; reduce the adverse effects of polluted atmosphere. According to the reviews of patients who have completed a course of HBO, after the pressure chamber, they all note an increase in working capacity and stabilization of the psycho-emotional state.

How is oxygen treatment in a pressure chamber

To conduct a HBO session, special pressure chambers (pressure apparatuses) are used, in which, under sealed conditions, an increased oxygen pressure is created. Dnepropetrovsk regional hospital named after I.I. Mechnikov, there are modern domestic and foreign pressure devices that provide comfortable conditions during a treatment session. The patient is in a pressure chamber in a free position (lying or sitting), inhaling healing oxygen. During the session, he can even sleep.

Before HBO sessions, the patient is examined, diagnosed, the necessary laboratory tests are carried out, after which the doctor prescribes a course of treatment, if necessary, concomitant therapy. time and the number of sessions is assigned individually and depends on the diagnosis and indications. Usually, depending on the pathology, the duration of treatment is 5-15 sessions on 40-60 minutes each.

The attending physician constantly monitors the patient's condition. As a rule, patients tolerate HBO sessions well. A proven methodology and constant monitoring guarantee the absence of undesirable effects.

HBO therapy is an opportunity to use the most modern scientific developments. In an atmosphere of healing pure oxygen, the patient will get rid of many diseases and gain health and vigor. We sincerely wish you good health and vigor.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBO, is a simple procedure in which many diseases simply dissolve.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBO, under this complex name lies a fairly simple treatment procedure in an oxygen pressure chamber. It takes place in conditions of excess pressure, or the so-called hyperbaric atmosphere. To achieve a therapeutic effect, it is necessary that the pressure used for medical purposes significantly exceeds the pressure of the environment. And then oxygen and a pressure chamber allow you to achieve truly magical results.

How is the procedure? A person is placed in a pressure chamber, where, depending on the disease, the pressure increases from one and a half to three times. At the same time, purified oxygen is supplied to him through the mask.

You must have heard about oxygen cocktails. Usually they are used for general improvement of well-being and normalization of metabolic processes. A cocktail is prepared by passing oxygen under low pressure in the form of small bubbles through chicken protein, while adding rosehip infusion, glucose, vitamin C, B vitamins and herbal infusions, depending on the purpose of the drink. As a foaming agent, fruit juices, bread wort concentrate or liquorice root infusion are used. An oxygen cocktail should be drunk slowly, through a straw, twice a day. At one time, it is usually necessary to drink about 200 ml of an oxygen drink.

However, simple inhalation of pure oxygen or its enteral consumption does not always solve the problem of oxygen starvation, or hypoxia. But in the oxygen pressure chamber, oxygen quickly dissolves in the interstitial fluid, and its concentration exceeds the usual values up to 20 times. At the same time, it enters the body in large quantities, saturating tissues and organs: oxygen starvation is eliminated, which helps to restore the lost functions of the diseased organ.

In addition, inflammatory, viral and infectious diseases are often caused by the activity of so-called anaerobic microorganisms, for whose vital activity oxygen is not needed. In this case, treatment with an oxygen pressure chamber can eliminate the disease without drugs.

Oxygen

Do you feel dizzy, feel general weakness, sleep poorly and get sick often? Do not rush to take medicine: maybe the whole point is an elementary lack of oxygen, and poor health is caused by hypoxia? An oxygen pressure chamber will help saturate your body with oxygen, and the problem will be eliminated along with all its negative consequences.

Thanks to this procedure, the synthesis of bone tissue and the deposition of calcium in it, which helps strengthen bones, are enhanced, new capillaries are formed in the area with impaired blood flow. And if the blood is better to supply the organs oxygen, then the disease will go away by itself.

HBO also has a strong anti-inflammatory effect, which minimizes the consumption of drugs and saves the budget - this is especially important in the off-season, when infectious and viral diseases are exacerbated. Also, this method is successfully used for diseases of the stomach, in neurology, for eye diseases and chronic inflammatory processes of the pelvic organs in women.

During the course of such procedures, many note an improvement in overall well-being, the removal of chronic fatigue. The oxygen pressure chamber restores strength after hard work, has a tonic effect and reduces the adverse effects of polluted atmosphere. Hyperbaric oxygenation has a great effect on beauty and preserves youth: the endocrine system improves, the skin condition improves.

Oxygen sessions strengthen the nervous system, so no attacks of stress will scare you. This is a pleasant procedure: you lie in a pressure chamber, in a mask through which oxygen enters. The session lasts about an hour - you can sleep. No discomfort, except that the ears are a little stuffy, like when an airplane takes off. The number of sessions is selected individually: as a rule, there are 10-12 of them. The average cost of the procedure in Moscow is about 1000 rubles.

And yet, before visiting the pressure chamber, be sure to consult an ENT doctor and an endocrinologist. It is undesirable to undergo HBO when:

  • acute viral infection
  • elevated temperature
  • ear diseases
  • blood diseases
  • individual hypersensitivity to oxygen.

Oxygen truly works wonders - everyone can experience its magical effect. The recipe for health and eternal youth is simple: enjoy oxygen cocktails and relax in an oxygen pressure chamber.

If insufficient oxygen enters the human body, hypoxia develops - this is what oxygen starvation is called in medical language. In order to saturate tissues and blood with life-giving gas, they resort to various methods, among which treatment using a pressure chamber is not the last. But like any treatment, it has its pros and cons.

General information

The pressure chamber is a large sealed capsule with windows, where a patient is placed for a certain time - from 20 minutes to an hour. He does not have to do anything, just lie down and breathe air, sufficiently enriched with oxygen. Sensors are built into the pressure chamber, which determine such parameters as pressure and the level of oxygen entering the capsule - this is how oxygen is called in Latin.

HBO

Treatment in a hyperbaric chamber is called hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO for short). Translated into a universal language, this means saturation of the body with oxygen at a pressure above atmospheric. During this procedure, oxygen enters the patient's blood much more intensively than during normal breathing. And the blood carries it to all the “corners” of the body, which, thanks to this, activates the regeneration processes of each of its tissues: whether it be nervous or muscular, bone or cartilage, and so on.

Indications

The undoubted effect of HBO therapy is marked by a very wide list of pathologies for which treatment in a pressure chamber is recommended. Indications for the use of HBO relate to the following ailments:

  • various diseases of the vessels of the extremities that have arisen due to circulatory disorders;
  • many cardiac pathologies, including various kinds of arrhythmias and heart failure;
  • diseases of the stomach and intestines;
  • among the pathologies of the liver, HBO therapy lends itself to hepatitis - acute and chronic, as well as cirrhosis;
  • cerebral infarction, otherwise called ischemic stroke, craniocerebral and spinal cord injuries, encephalopathy, paresis of peripheral nerves - these are indications from the nervous system;
  • in the list of poisonings - the successful fight against botulism, carbon monoxide poisoning and even cyanide;
  • many eye pathologies are treatable, in particular, circulatory disorders in the retina;
  • on the part of the endocrine system, an indication for HBO is such a complex disease as diabetes with insulin dependence, its complications, diffuse toxic goiter;
  • indications for the use of the pressure chamber are also maxillofacial problems: periodontal disease, gingivitis, stomatitis, healing of wound marks after facial plastic surgery;
  • diseases related to the field of obstetrics and gynecology. As for the appointment of a pressure chamber course during pregnancy, the indications and contraindications will be determined by the attending physician after the necessary consultations with the therapist, endocrinologist, ENT doctor;
  • many indications for newborns with various pathologies such as asphyxia, cerebrovascular accident;
  • treatment of wounds, burns and frostbite, radiation injuries;
  • This technique has been successfully tested in the treatment of drug addiction.

Contraindications

You can not use this method if the patency of the Eustachian tubes and channels through which the inhaled air enters the paranasal sinuses is impaired. This may be due to the presence of polyps, inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, middle ear, and developmental anomalies.

Contraindications also include:

  • the presence in the lungs of abscesses, caverns;
  • bilateral pneumonia;
  • undrained pneumothorax - a pathological condition in which air enters the pleural cavity;
  • there is a certain percentage of people who have an increased sensitivity to oxygen;
  • a clear contraindication is a history of epilepsy;
  • hypertension with constant blood pressure exceeding 160/90;
  • since the treatment procedure takes place in a confined space, then claustrophobia, in which a person is afraid of such a situation.

GBA

HBA is an abbreviation for the hypobaric adaptation method. It is aimed at stimulating the protective forces and reserves of the patient's own body. What is its essence? A reduced atmospheric pressure is created in the pressure chamber, as if imitating mountain air, which allows you to train baroreceptors - the endings of nerves located in the vessels and responding to changes in blood pressure. During the session, the patient inhales a much larger volume of air, while the level of oxygen in the blood rises, due to which the respiratory organs and the cardiovascular system work better, fat metabolism normalizes, and the immune system is strengthened.

Indications

  • "Mountain air" treats bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, i.e. diseases in which it is difficult for the patient to breathe - bronchitis, emphysema;
  • one of the indications of the oxygen pressure chamber is the treatment for a long time and often ill with colds;
  • it is useful to use the method for psychotherapeutic purposes: correction of borderline conditions; treatment of neurosis, depressive and hypochondriacal conditions, neurocirculatory dystonia, migraine (allowed only between attacks);
  • complex treatment and prevention of heart ailments, including the rehabilitation of cardiosclerosis that developed after a heart attack;
  • hypertension of the 1st-2nd degree;
  • lipid (fat) metabolism disorders.

The use of HBA will not interfere with healthy people, especially those who are weighed down by risk factors for coronary heart disease and arterial hypertension. This will improve the movement of blood through the vessels and the general condition. Among the indications can be called HBA-therapy as a means to increase the effectiveness of the sports training process.

Contraindications

  • With hypobaric adaptation, in comparison with the HBO method, two identical indications were noted among the indications: claustrophobia and impaired patency of the Eustachian tubes and canals;
  • you can not use this method if there are diseases of the veins in the legs;
  • with hernias, no matter where they are in the body;
  • if during the year there was a history of traumatic brain injury - this also does not allow treatment in a pressure chamber under low pressure;
  • obstetric and gynecological problems in the form of uterine bleeding, as well as pregnancy;
  • acute infections and so-called somatic diseases during their exacerbation;
  • barotherapy is not indicated for patients over 60 years of age.

In patients who have completed a course of HBA, the underlying disease is much less likely to recur and worsen, they are much less likely to turn to drug treatment. At the same time, working capacity is increased - both mental and physical, and fatigue is reduced. The body acquires resistance to adverse factors.
