Diet dishes 1. What is the purpose of this diet

Digestion of food by the stomach occurs with the participation of hydrochloric acid. With gastritis, mucus secretion slows down, and hydrochloric acid acts destructively on the membranes of the stomach and duodenum, which ends in the formation of ulcers.

Patients with chronic gastritis with increased or decreased acidity of gastric juice, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum during recovery, as well as during the recovery period after gastric surgery, doctors prescribe a therapeutic diet table number 1. Today we will explain what the essence of therapeutic diet food is, we will give indicative diet menu table 1 per week.

Why is a therapeutic diet table 1 prescribed?

Diet table 1 is designed to provide peace to the gastric mucosa and the possibility of its speedy recovery. Food should be taken only in the form of heat and prepared in a certain way, excluding excessive excitation of gastric secretion and the possibility of exacerbation of the disease.

Diet table 1 allows you to provide the patient with all the proteins, carbohydrates, trace elements and vitamins necessary for the body, at the same time, using a sparing diet, which helps to recover faster after an illness.

Diet ration: allowed and prohibited foods

Until the disease enters the stage of stable remission with a decrease in inflammation and healing of ulcers, food should be consumed pureed. In the future, the products can not be ground.

In the diet, table 1 menu is made up of allowed products, indicating the recommended dishes.

  • foods that stimulate the secretion of the intestines and stomach (concentrated fish and meat broths, fried foods, mushroom decoctions, canned fish and meat, pickled fruits and vegetables, seasonings and spices);

In addition, on a therapeutic diet, table 1 should be excluded from rye and fresh bread, pearl barley, corn, millet and barley groats. Table 1 is a medical diet developed by the Soviet nutritionist M.I. Pevzner. To fully restore the functioning of the digestive system, it is recommended to adhere to dietary nutrition table 1 for six months to a year.

Gastroenterologists prescribe this therapeutic diet for the following pathologies of the digestive tract:

  • gastric ulcer during the period of remission and after exacerbation;
  • gastritis with high acidity (acute and chronic course);
  • rehabilitation period after gastric surgery;
  • esophageal burns.

The foundation of the diet for gastritis table 1 is based on the basic principles of treating this pathology: providing good nutrition, a balanced diet, thermal, chemical and mechanical sparing of the mucous membrane of the esophagus and stomach, rejection of products that cause increased production of hydrochloric acid, i.e. gastric juice.

Diet No. 1 was introduced in hospitals, and is also provided for in the sanatorium treatment of patients with the listed problems. A rich selection of products and simple principles of culinary processing make it easy to follow a diet at home for a long period of time.
