Antibiotics and their analogues. Replacing expensive drugs with cheaper analogues

Cheap analogues of expensive drugs. Generics. List and table of drugs

This article is for everyone who accepts medicines! In it we will talk about cheap analogues of expensive drugs. After all, everyone is familiar with the situation, for example, when a pharmacy does not have the medicine you need, and you can easily be offered its analogue or a cheaper option. And by the way, the difference in price can be enormous. On the net you can often find published tables and drug lists, as well as their cheap counterparts ( see at the end of the article). Moreover, the price differs quite significantly: once a 5-6 , and even in 10 . But everywhere, as you understand, dirty tricks are hidden, and we will talk about them.

It is clear that everyone wants to buy a drug and hope that the drug will be cheap, effective and, most importantly, safe for all of us. Therefore, first I want to explain a few concepts, without which, well, in any way. To begin with, all drugs are divided into two subgroups: original preparations and themcopies(generics). Generic- this is an absolutely identical copy of the original drug from the same active substance, but still different from the original. Let's see what the real difference between these groups is.

How original medicines are made

The creation of an original drug requires a huge amount of time, intellectual resources, financial resources, etc. From the beginning of a study of a particular drug to its release, it takes 10 to 15 years old, usually. And according to some journals, on average, for all these studies and the release of the drug is spent 1 billion dollars. Let's imagine that 15 years have passed, we started studying the active substance and released the drug, and spent $ 1 billion on all this. As you understand, the main thing in tablets is active substance, i.e. something that affects the body, not. As a matter of fact, basically tablet- it is starch and a little active substance.

At the first stage research, the active substance is synthesized (from thousands of different variants of this substance). Research is being carried out and only one or 10 substances that really work. Second phase research is the identification of these 10-15 found substances, one working version. Next begins third stage research is already a test (testing) of one substance that we decided to choose and which will act in our preparation. First, the substance is tested under test tube conditions, i.e. check how the substance works on different cell cultures. Next comes fourth stage- the medicine is tested on poor animals: mice, rabbits, etc. At the fifth stage The product is being tested on volunteers. And in last step it is tested on clinical patients, i.e. on real patients.

You see, what a large number of points, and each of them is very scrupulously worked out. This is where the money goes, by the way. Of course, patients and volunteers must consent to being experimented on, and they must be aware of what is being used. substance which is still being tested.

By the way, many people know the substance that is now sold on the Internet everywhere, this drug is called "melanotan". Actually injections of this drug are used to change the color of the skin and to get a tan. However, this drug I failed all clinical trials, but, nevertheless, it is already being actively sold online. You need to look at American sites, because. there they write about possible changes in the skin and the appearance of oncological diseases. But in Russia, no one talks about it and the drug is actively sold. They are often used and "". I’ll tell you a secret that most patients actually don't know that they are undergoing clinical trials. In general, clinical trials are not so simple. There are a large number of manipulations and opportunities for circumventing various laws and falsifying research.

As a result, the drug passed all 6 trials or "6 circles of hell". Several volunteers died, but no one will tell you about it. In general, the drug was released, all the certificates are there and all the tests have been carried out. Hooray!!! Further within 3-5 years physicians collect data on side effects of this drug and, in general, long-term side effects that do not appear immediately are detected. A lot of time, money, effort, long-term trials on patients have been spent. And, of course, piles of papers. So, this is the original drug.

Copies of medicines or "generics"

As a result, we have an original drug and it can be used for 20 years, i.e. patent has a validity period of approximately 20 years. This means that no one other than the company that issued the patent can use it. Well, when the patent will end, other savvy entrepreneurs and companies have the right to use the active substance from this drug and release their copies. That is, other companies produce drugs with the same active ingredient - these are copies ( generics). And this is just a fairy tale for various entrepreneurs of all stripes.

Are generics exactly the same as the original product? ? Not, are not ! The best possible generic or the best possible copy will never be better than the original drug, or rather, it will always be worse. Let's look at the causes and factors that can affect the deterioration of copies.

The most important thing in medicine is active substance. But even here it is not so simple. Although, in fact, it should be the same for everyone, i.e. officially, according to the documents and according to the rules, it should be the same, both for those who produce copies and for those who produce the original. However, there is such a thing as stereoisomerism. Copies may not contain the original substance, but stereoisomerism this substance, i.e. the formula of the molecule is the same, but in space the substance is located a little differently. According to the chemical formula, everything is in order and everything converges, because the active substance is the same, but stereoisomerism another. You yourself understand that raw materials can be purchased anywhere: in Ukraine, in China, in India, where the production process, like in Russia, is almost not controlled.

Also, in addition to the active substance, which may not coincide with the original, the tablet contains various impurities. As you understand, these excipients may also not be of very good quality, moreover, the composition may be different. It is possible that impurities and other substances found in generics that form a tablet may be completely different and it's allowed. Of course, all this without any doubt affects impact pills on our body. Also, the packaging may be different and may protect the active substance differently or may not protect well enough. By-products can interact with the drug and also have a negative effect. Even preservatives may be different so that the active ingredient did not spoil.

The difference between the original substance and the copy can be so significant that, for example, original- this is a Mercedes, and copy this is a "Cossack". I hope you understand the difference. Many manufacturers of generic drugs under seven seals keep documents on whether their pills really work, and even the state does not have the right to check them. Why? We'll figure it out later. As you understand, there are a lot of such trifles and, of course, all this does not speak in favor of generics, but only increases confidence in original drugs. Do you want to know how all this is controlled?

Generic control

Now there are a lot of generics, and original drugs are becoming less and less every year. IN THE USA 80% generics. In Russia, this figure is very close to 100% . Exactly 95% all the medicines your doctor prescribes copies of preparations. However, generics still have some control, and certain requirements are put forward for them.

1. Pharmacological equivalence

Means the generic should have the same active substance(according to the chemical formula), which is in the original preparation. But we remember stereoisomerism, and that the formula seems to be the same, but slightly differently located in space. And that's it, it may no longer work.

2. Bioequivalence

This means that the copy must also act on the body, like the original drug, directly absolutely the same. But in order to prove this, you need to spend a lot of money again, conduct research again, test this drug on patients, and so on. But who has time to do it? In our country and in the West, the requirements for conducting experiments are completely different. We generally not required no clinical trials for generics.

For example, EU requirements for pharmacodynamics drug means how it is absorbed, how it leaves us, how it works, how it is built into metabolism, etc. Look, in EU the difference between a generic drug and an original drug should be maximum 5%. And in Russia- allowed as much 35% . In fact, the drug is almost pacifier, because it is 35% wrong. In the US and the EU, generic manufacturers must provide documents, then pass tests and prove that all these three points are met. But in Russia it is not necessary to do this, i.e. not necessary. Why spend a lot of money, resources, etc., when you can just assign yourself the results of other people's research, as everyone does.

If a doctor prescribes a drug for you at a polyclinic, then 95% - this is copy(generic). Therefore, it is better to buy original preparations than generics from India, Ukraine, China or our Russian ones. By the way, this is not the case in the USA. they have everything thought out to the smallest detail. The doctor has a so-called orange book, which lists all active drugs and all substances. In one column tables drugs that have passed clinical trials are indicated and they can be used. In another column - "pig in a poke", i.e. placebo.

Therefore, if a doctor in a polyclinic tells you to buy an original drug that is better, more expensive, but effective, then necessarilyhisbuy. But, of course, you think that the doctor is deceiving us, and that he pharmacist and not a doctor. Often smart mothers prescribe medicines for the child themselves. Instead of buying what the doctor prescribed, they go to the pharmacy, find copies and buy. As a result, no one knows what effect this drug has on the child. This is what most cunning Russians do, who do not understand the problems of original drugs and copies. Therefore, in Russia, the effectiveness and safety of the use of any drugs (95% of generics) is directly the responsibility of the doctor and his clinical experience. All we can do and all we must do is buy original drugs.

We have to spend a little more money, but be sure that this drug that we use will not kill us, and it will work. Therefore, friends, be very careful when buying and choosing various drugs. This is extremely important for our health with you, but it’s better not to get sick at all and take care of yourself.

As promised, below will be presented two"Tables of cheap analogues of expensive drugs or generics".

A complete list of drug analogues 2017 allows you to replace expensive drugs with cheap analogues. This will help not only to carry out effective treatment, but also save the family budget. The most important thing is to study in advance which medicines will be an excellent replacement for expensive medicines. After that, you can safely begin treatment and expect a positive result.

Analogues and substitutes for expensive, very expensive drugs. Often, doctors prescribe expensive drugs, although there are more inexpensive "generic" drugs. The difference between expensive drugs and their inexpensive counterparts. Replacement of expensive drugs with analogues (generics). A list of tested analogue drugs that are allowed to be bought at a pharmacy instead of expensive branded drugs.

Generics (from the English. Generic) are generic drugs that are a reproduction of the original drug, the active substance of which has expired patent protection. They may differ from the original drug in the composition of excipients, as a rule, the properties and effect of generics are retained.

Generic drugs are much more cost effective than expensive original drugs, but the therapeutic result of these drugs is sometimes quite the same. Therefore, in principle, when it is impossible to buy an original expensive drug for yourself, or you do not agree to give money for a brand, even when its quality is impeccable, you can absolutely stop your respect for inexpensive substitutes for expensive drugs. Let's say the drug "No-shpa", you can safely replace it with inexpensive domestic "Drotaverin", saving well on the purchase of this medicine.

In Russia, a huge number of generics and other analogues of imported drugs are produced. Moreover, due to the absence of various costs for duties and taxes, Russian analogues of imported drugs, with a sufficiently high quality, will be much cheaper than the same generic drugs imported from abroad. The assessment of the quality and safety of these drugs is at a high level, Russian drugs are of better quality and purer than, for example, Vietnamese or Chinese drugs.

Why buy an expensive drug when you are counting on a real healing effect. Let's assume that the imported "Fervex" is a complex medicine for the treatment of colds, it includes paracetamol, which lowers body temperature, ascorbic acid, which strengthens the walls of blood vessels and strengthens the immune system, and pheniramine maleate, which eliminates swelling of the nasal mucosa and respiratory tract, as active substances. It is not necessary to overpay a lot of money, counting only on an antipyretic result, when the domestic drug Paracetamol can absolutely cope with these. It should be noted that imported drugs often have a complex composition. Of course, there is nothing wrong with this, because. the active substances in the complex provide a rapid reduction in the symptoms of a cold and recovery, however, the cost of the medicine grows in proportion to the increase in the number of components of the composition. In any case, even when a certain drug is recommended by your doctor, you have the right to ask to justify the appointment of an expensive imported drug for you, but also ask you to prescribe a more affordable analogue.

Remember, one thing is that you don’t have to blindly choose the cheapest substitute for an expensive medicine in a pharmacy!

Some original drugs are cheaper than generic ones (verified fact). Sometimes there are high-quality generics, and there are a lot of them.
Most importantly, do not fall for a fake drug (fake, surrogate).
Below is a table of drug analogues

Remember the rule: to choose an analogue, look for the international name of the drug prescribed to you, for example, the drug Zantac (Zantac) - international name (INN) - Ranitidine (ranitidin), therefore, you can replace it with an analogue.

Save to social networks:

Very often, the prescribed drugs of promoted imported pharmaceutical companies are expensive, so patients in search of a more economical option are looking for analogues of the drugs prescribed to them, quite often this is a cold and flu medicine, probiotics or vitamins and microelements. They are also often looking for analogues to medicines widely advertised on TV, antihistamines, nootropics, and what advertising calls “a cure for VVD.”

In this case, it is better to select full analogues or generics, that is, drugs that also contain the same active ingredient in the same amount. For example, we are looking for analogues and find such a tool as Aspartame, the price of which is an order of magnitude lower than for Panangin. If such a remedy cannot be found with the consent of the attending physician, one can pay attention to substances similar in their effect, but containing another active substance.

Since they are usually looking for not just analogues of drugs - cheap analogues of expensive drugs, it is hardly profitable for pharmacy workers to recommend such a replacement. Therefore, those who need such a replacement should refer to our article, as well as replenish their knowledge by reading the Medical Directory of Drugs and their analogues. We will not be able to talk about all the drugs and their analogues within the framework of this article - a complete list is a multi-volume work. Therefore, we will focus on those that today often appear in commercials and those that patients are most often interested in.

Scene in a pharmacy (cheap analogues of expensive drugs)

Examples of analogues of drugs from different groups

Most often, when receiving a doctor's prescription, we buy not the cheapest drug in a pharmacy. The topic of the article does not provide for an analysis of the reasons for this situation, let's just say that analogues of drugs from the Russian Federation cost two times, and sometimes an order of magnitude less, than imported analogues. Most often, the effect is satisfactory, and the cost savings are on the face.

However, buying a cheap analogue, it is not always possible to achieve the desired effect. That is, by buying a more expensive product, we get the result promised by the instruction. And by purchasing a cheap option, we get a much weaker effect, although the active substance and its concentration are identical to the expensive one. At least, this follows from the feedback of patients.

The reason for this phenomenon can be explained only by conducting an appropriate study. It is possible that in some cases the situation can be explained by a psychological factor (trust in foreign pharmaceutical companies is higher), in others by a counterfeit drug. Perhaps there are other reasons as well.

Probiotic preparations

Given the frequency of antibiotic use for the treatment of certain bacterial infections in humans, animals, their treatment of plants, it can be argued that the intestinal microflora is exposed to substances that are harmful to it quite intensively. It is not surprising that you have to take probiotics Linex, Symbiolact or eubiotics Enterol and Bioflor.

These are high-quality probiotics that contain not only bifido- and lactobacilli, but also enterococci (Symbiolact). Eubiotics may contain either saccharomycetes (Enterol), Escherichia coli (Bioflor) and other preparations that contain certain microorganisms that are needed by the intestines.

Accordingly, the price of these drugs is not the lowest. Linex costs from 250 rubles. It is not surprising that patients are looking for analogues with a more affordable price for Linex. Unfortunately, there are no cheap full analogues for this tool. The most acceptable are analogues of tablets:

  • Lactobacterin - from 113 rubles;
  • Gastrofarm from 75 rubles.

The remaining drugs are comparable in price to Linex or are more expensive.

Antihistamines

They are commonly referred to as allergy medicines. To date, there are first-generation antihistamines (, Diazodin, Dimedrol) and second or third generation (Claridon, Rupafin, Trexil, Telfast).

The first generation of antihistamines sins with serious side effects, the main of which is increased drowsiness. This significantly reduces the performance of an allergic person, it is especially difficult to take them for those whose work is associated with risk (drivers, construction equipment operators, and others), and Diphenhydramine is also addictive.

Representatives of the next two generations are devoid of such a disadvantage. But the cost leaves much to be desired. It is difficult for this group of drugs to find complete analogues of cheap drugs - analogues of expensive drugs, as a rule, are not complete and belong to first-generation drugs.

For those who are looking for a medicine from cheap analogues, it is recommended to look at the analogues of expensive medicines with a table with prices:

For analogues at a cheaper price, you can also find. For example, Chloropyramine in tablets costs about 64 rubles. Preparations of the second or third generation cost from 200 rubles, for example, Claritin is about 204 rubles.

"Anti-cold" remedies

Most often, when a pharmacy asks for a cure for flu and colds, they mean drugs that reduce the symptoms of a viral infection (cough, runny nose, sore throat, temperature). That is, medicines that contain antipyretic and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory components, and sometimes vitamin C and antihistamine. But antiviral agents, as well as immunomodulators and immunostimulants, can also be attributed to the same category.

A striking and advertised example of such a "cure for the common cold" is Theraflu. Such a quick remedy for colds and flu costs about 338 rubles. Can you find something cheaper? Of course, see the analogues of drugs table of "anti-cold powders":

You can replace this drug with such incomplete analogues of drugs as Antiflu at a price of 113 rubles or Coldrex at 116 rubles. They are slightly different in composition from Theraflu, but give about the same effect. When choosing analogues of cheap drugs, in case of a cold, you should know that in most cases it is enough to take a banal one at a price of 16 rubles and ascorbic acid at 15 rubles per pack.

If the disease is of a viral nature, it is impossible to rely on antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drugs, they only eliminate the symptoms, but do not prevent the virus from developing. This role is played by antiviral drugs, such as Rimantadine, Kagocel and others. Kagocel costs about 220 rubles and has no analogues. One of the cheapest is Rimantadine. Rimantadine for Kagocel analogue at a price of 50 rubles. But we attributed it to analogues only conditionally.

Vitamin preparations and trace elements

This is a large group of drugs that pharmaceutical companies pack in beautiful boxes and give intriguing names, all at a fairly high price. Although there are products that have the same effect, at a much lower price. Most often, for such drugs, patients are looking for cheap analogues of drugs:

  • Neurobion;
  • Aginovitis and others.

The list of cheap analogues of expensive drugs will be as follows: there is a Russian analogue for Multigamma. An analogue of Iodomarin (124 rubles) is Potassium Iodide (94 rubles). Neurobion, which costs about 340 rubles, can be successfully replaced at a price of 230 rubles.

Antihypertensive drugs and drugs that improve heart function

If at a young age we do not notice how our "motor" works. Then with age, the heart, an organ that does not know sleep and rest, begins to malfunction, tachycardia, arrhythmia appear, and pressure rises. There are many resources available to help this important organ. For example, we provide medicines and their analogues with a table with prices:

Name of the drug Price/rubles Analog/Substitute Price/rubles
Panangin 122 Asparkam 33
Eltacin 170 No
non-ticket 500 Nebivolol 157
115 (not analogue) 5

Panangin is the original drug of the Gideon Richter company, it is available in the form of a dragee, the shell of which makes it convenient for swallowing. For Panagin, the analogue is. This is a tablet form, swallowing it is less comfortable. In addition, the drugs differ only in the manufacturer and price.

Eltacin advertising positions as a remedy for VVD, perhaps the only and absolute. This is not entirely true. It is a metabolite drug. It is designed to normalize metabolic processes in the heart muscle and reduce tissue hypoxia. It's an antioxidant. Its main purpose is to help the myocardium in chronic heart failure; to combat the syndrome of vegetovascular dysfunction, it is prescribed to children aged 12 to 18 years as part of complex therapy. It contains amino acids:

  • Glycine;
  • cystine;
  • Glutamic acid.

For Eltacin, many sites call Glycine an analogue of this medicine (46 rubles). As can be seen from the composition of the drug - Glycine is only a component of it. Eltacin costs about 170 rubles. There is no complete analogue of this tool.

Nibilet is a third-generation cardioselective beta-blocker with vasodilator properties. This means that the drug reduces the oxygen demand of the heart muscle, has an antiarrhythmic effect, and it can be used to achieve a stable hypotensive effect. It costs about 500 rubles. Replacing the drug with cheaper analogues is possible.

For the drug Nebilet, analogues of this medicine are also produced by Croatia (Binelol for 382 rubles 14 tablets), and India (Nebivator for 370 rubles 14 tablets), and Russia (Nevibol, Kanopharm for 286 rubles 24 tablets).

Cheap analogues and generics of popular products

It is difficult to present a complete list of cheap analogues of expensive drugs for 2016, but we still selected a fairly wide list.

It is more convenient to look at cheap drug analogues with tables. They are recorded in tables using a variety of principles. Sometimes they are grouped according to the pathologies in which they are used. Sometimes by drug groups, in some cases by frequency of requests. In some cases, it is very difficult to single out a classification criterion. We offer several options for tables that can be used when selecting drug analogues.

Video: Expensive drugs and their cheaper counterparts

To be honest, our competence in pharmacology leaves much to be desired. When we come to the doctor and receive an impressive list of drugs at the end of the appointment, we are unlikely to question it, because a person, when sick, is inclined to trust rather than doubt. And so, having secured the authority of the attending physician, we go to the pharmacy and humbly lay out a round sum for those drugs that should raise us to our feet. And we rarely think about the cost-effectiveness of treatment, unless, of course, the amount of treatment exceeds a certain threshold value. We stand outside the process of determining and choosing this or that drug, the doctor and the manufacturer, with all their marketing, decide for us what to use. To become an active participant in your treatment, you need to know that there are almost always analogues of medicines prescribed to you with the same active substance and a wide range in price, and sometimes the number of such analogues reaches dozens. The advantage of more expensive drugs is in the degree of purification, in the presence of additional additives that affect the duration of the action of the main substance, in the absence of certain side effects. The price of more expensive drugs contains a marketing component (direct advertising, "bribery of a doctor", a pharmacy allowance), also a patent component (it took a lot of time and money to develop, which needs to be repaid), of course, a component associated with more complex manufacturing technology, well and profit. On the other hand, cheap drugs cannot be counterfeited, it is not economically viable. But how to make a choice? The information below should help you at least think about the choice. And you will be at the doctor's appointment - try it about analogues, ask about the active substance. For example, someone drinks pentalgin, nurofen for headaches, and someone citramone and analgin with the same positive effect, but for other money.

The medicines listed below have contraindications, be sure to consult your doctor
