10 ideas for filling a business person's diary

  1. Distinguish between rigid and flexible schedules.
  2. All the things planned in the diary can be conditionally divided into hard and flexible. A rigid schedule refers to an activity or an event that has a clearly defined time frame: a meeting at 11:30, a meeting with a business partner at 14:00, a doctor's visit at 9:20, etc. A flexible schedule includes cases that can be to be completed within a day, they do not require a clear indication of the time of their execution: draw up an agreement, write a letter, view documents, etc.

    “Floating” business tasks should not be included in the hourly schedule of the day. The meeting may be rescheduled, the meeting may be delayed, and then the schedule of all scheduled tasks will be disrupted. In such a situation, a person feels discomfort, nervous, irritated, in a hurry. Being under stress adversely affects health. When drawing up any plan, you must be guided by the idea of \u200b\u200bstability and provide for all possible overlaps and deviations from the schedule in your schedule.

    To distinguish between cases with different execution schedules, you can use the idea of filling in the diary in the form of a table:

  3. Priority.
  4. The importance of scheduled tasks cannot be ignored. If you are familiar with time management technology, then you know that for the rational organization of time and its effective use, the idea of ranking or prioritizing tasks as they are important and significant is at the heart of any planning.

    Starting work with a pleasant, but insignificant trifle, you put off until later the execution of a more urgent and important task. This may adversely affect the quality of its performance. With a system of symbols representing each type of event or business task, you will be able to easily navigate the agenda plan.

    You can use the following ranking system:

    A - you should immediately begin to implement these points of the plan, otherwise there may be negative consequences. For example, late payment of a loan will result in penalties.

    B - in case of failure to do these things, big troubles will not happen, but you may experience some discomfort or dissatisfaction. For example, if you do not make it to the store in time and do not buy the necessary products, you will not be able to properly receive guests.

    B - it is not recommended to ignore the planned activities, as their completion will positively affect your activity or well-being. For example, buying new chairs for the office, replacing curtains on the windows, etc.

  5. Frog.
  6. Another idea for filling your diary is to plan frog tasks. In time management, frogs are the most unpleasant things that are constantly delayed. Frogs interfere with progress, distract, spoil the mood, so you should start a new day with them. First, in the morning your productivity is at a high level. Secondly, if unforeseen difficulties arise, you will have enough time to finish a difficult task.

    When filling out the diary, frog tasks can be marked with the letter “L” or highlighted in red. Prioritizing unpleasant work will allow you to breathe relaxed in the afternoon. You don't have to feel uncomfortable or dissatisfied.

  7. When to plan.
  8. In order not to take away precious time from yourself in the morning, it is better to make a plan for upcoming affairs in advance. In the evening, open your diary and write down the next day step by step. Waking up in the morning, you will experience a feeling of confidence, you do not have to think about ranking things. If during the day you have new ideas, you can always add to your plan.

  9. Delete what has been done.
  10. The diary is also a tool of positive motivation. Cross out or mark with a certain icon all the completed items of the plan. Such an idea of filling out a diary motivates for success, increases efficiency, and helps to evaluate your organizational skills. When by the end of the day you see how the list of planned tasks decreases, you will experience a sense of pride and confidence in the future, and your self-esteem will certainly increase.

  11. Intended use.
  12. When implementing various ideas for filling the diary, it is important to remember its intended purpose and not use the notebook as an address book or a collection of useful tips and recipes. During the day, a business person repeatedly encounters a situation where you urgently need to write down important information, someone's address, an interesting thought, etc. To avoid chaos, select special sheets in your organizer where you will enter all urgent information. This block in the diary can be marked with the "miscellaneous" tab. If the allotted sheets run out quickly, you can attach a new block using a stapler.

  13. Goals.
  14. On the front page or spread of the diary, be sure to write the main goals and ideas that will motivate you to succeed and move forward. Each time you open your business diary, you will be rereading these settings as well as generating new ideas.

  15. Personal life.
  16. In addition to a career, there is a personal life. Consider this when making a to-do list in your diary. Otherwise, being carried away by work, you can forget about the birthday of a loved one, be late for a matinee with a child, and not meet relatives at the airport. Pleasant events included in the daily schedule instill a sense of life satisfaction. And suddenly there will be some free time, you can happily spend it on your family. In the daily plan, leave free lines for ideas related to personal life.

  17. There are no outstanding tasks.
  18. When maintaining a diary, adhere to the mandatory rule: tasks that you did not have time to complete, transfer to subsequent days. It’s better to spend a few extra minutes rewriting unfulfilled plan items than to miss something important or waste time looking for the right page, trying to remember the unfinished business.

  19. Creative.
  20. Any creative ideas for filling the diary are allowed. The main thing is that planning evokes only positive emotions in you. For example, with the help of symbols or drawings, you can evaluate the quality of the planned tasks.

This cover will be soft, fabric with your favorite pictures and decorations.
For the master class on creating a cover, we need to take:

  • Diary in the finished cover for 2016;
  • Two blanks from binding cardboard 15.5 * 21 cm;
  • The cardboard is thick;
  • Office paper;
  • Fabric bright pink cotton with flowers cut 25*32 cm;
  • 4 metal corners for silver;
  • Two sheets of 30 * 30 cm scrap paper with bears and light pink;
  • Scrapbook cards two pieces 7.5 * 10 cm in size;
  • Pictures with bears;
  • Card with the inscription "Favorite Doctor's Diary";
  • Buttons small acrylic orange and pink;
  • Glue stick;
  • Glue with the effect of double-sided tape from Evgenia Kurdibanovskaya;

  • Scissors;
  • Double-sided adhesive tape;
  • Pink ink pad;
  • Grid calendar for 2016;
  • Curb puncher;
  • Sintepon sheet;
  • Bandage or gauze.

To begin with, carefully remove the cover from the diary, do it carefully, if you have a stationery knife, you can make a few cuts to easily remove the block.

Disconnected, now we need to make endpapers for our binding. Endpapers are thick sheets that connect the cover and binding. From each sheet of scrap paper we cut out two parts measuring 20.5 * 29 cm. We divide the side that is 29 cm in half 2 * 14.5 cm.

We draw bending lines and fold the two blanks. We open one sheet and glue the calendar grid on the left side on double-sided tape (if there is an ink pad, then it is better to tint the edges of the grid).

From the sheets that remained, we cut out two pockets 9 * 14.5 cm and 10 * 14.5 cm. We punch holes from the remnants of the strip and glue them on the pockets at the top with PVA glue. On one pocket we glue a picture of a bear, and on the second there is an inscription 2016 with monkeys.

We sew pictures and a grid on a typewriter. Now we glue the prepared endpapers on top and bottom of the block, spreading glue literally 2-3 mm from the binding. We apply and press the endpapers for about 5 minutes so that the glue sticks. We cut out a rectangle 9 * 20.5 cm from office paper and divide it into three parts along the smaller side, respectively 3.5 * 2 * 3.5 cm. We draw vertical lines of bends.

Spread with glue and glue to the diary block.

From below and from above we apply some sheets or you can notebooks and with the help of clamps we clamp the block for about 30-40 minutes. In the meantime, we're making the cover. We put sheets of binding cardboard and cut out a blank from cardboard for gluing the covers together.

We glue the workpiece with a glue stick.

We cut the synthetic winterizer to the size of the cover in expanded form, glue it on the cover with adhesive tape. We iron the fabric well so that there are no wrinkles and lay it out on the table face down. Lay the cover with the padding down.

We smear the edges with glue, wrap the fabric, fold the corners beautifully and glue it.

We sew the edge of the cover on a typewriter.

We lay out the pictures in this sequence and sew one by one on a typewriter.

We cut off the bandage, fold it in half and glue it on the edge of the diary block.

A handmade diary will be a great gift for a friend, work colleague or loved one. Everyone needs this item. In addition, a souvenir of your own making is unique and interesting, unlike standard counterparts from a stationery store.

How to make a diary with your own hands: a master class

To make a diary, you can use a technique similar to book binding. For work, you need plain A4 white paper. You can combine different colors of sheets. Pick up sheets of paper in your notebook. If the density of the selected paper is medium, then it is better to take 5 sheets. If it is very dense, make notebooks of 2 sheets.

Fold your notebook in half. Repeat the process several times until you reach the desired block thickness.

Lay the future block at the spine with 2 pieces of binding cardboard (this is necessary so that there are no dents from the staples on the paper), secure the spine with special stationery clips.

Under the press, the block should lie for about 3 hours, you can leave it overnight. When the notebooks are caked, open the clips and straighten the spine by tapping it on a hard surface. Then secure it with clips again.

Make 6 small holes on the spine. An awl is suitable for this.

After that, you can sew the block. You need 2 ribbons of fabric. They must be wide enough to fit freely between the 2 holes.

Sew the 1st notebook with a needle-forward stitch, single thread, leaving its tip outside.

Put on top of the 1st 2nd notebook, do not confuse the right and left edges of the notebooks, i.e. do not turn them over. Insert the needle into the hole in the 2nd notebook.

Sew in the same way as the 1st, grabbing the thread for the firmware of the previous notebook.

When you reach the edge, tie the working thread and the remaining tip into 2 knots, pulling well.

Lay the 3rd notebook on top and do the same.

In places where the tapes are, cling the working thread to only 1 previous one.

Sew on the 3rd notebook. Tie a knot by connecting the 3rd notebook with the previous ones. To do this, thread the needle between the 1st and 2nd notebooks.

Pull out the needle leaving a loop. Pass the needle.

Press the notebooks together, pulling the knot tight.

After all notebooks are sewn, fix on the side with 3 knots.

Lay the block between the cartons, aligning the spine. Notebooks should lie flat.

Glue the spine with sealant.

Fasten the clips along the spine. Usually the block dries for 1 hour.

Now you can prepare future endpapers. For them, you need 2 sheets of thick paper (A4). It is recommended to take scrapbooking paper. Make creasing in the middle. Fold them in half.

Remove the block from under the press. Glue 2 sheets of kraft paper before gluing the endpaper. It will improve the relief of the tapes and add more strength.

Glue with glue stick.

Fasten the ribbons on top of the craft.

Glue the endpapers.

Now you need to align the edges of the resulting block. This can be done with a utility knife.

Diary cover design

To make a diary from a block of paper, you will need 2 binding cartons a little larger than the size of your block and cardboard for the spine.

Cut the cardboard so that when applied to the block, 5 mm remains on 3 sides, and the spine has 5 mm less.

On the spine card, make several creasing at a distance of about 3 mm from each other. This is necessary so that your spine is beautifully rounded. The distance from the 1st to the last creasing should be 3 mm more than the height of the block spine.

Glue the spine to the cardboard cover.

The frame is ready. Now prepare a piece of fabric (it should be 15 mm larger than the cover).

Iron the fabric and starch.

Lay the frame of the cover over the finished fabric with the soft side facing down.

Apply glue at a distance of about 5 mm from the edge.

Glue the long sides, you can additionally iron them.

Place 2 sheets of plain, clean paper between the sheets of flyleaf, apply glue, and slam the cover shut. Try to fasten as neatly as possible. Do the same with the back of the notebook.

You can use the diary 12 hours after completion of work.
