- additional pre-university education in mathematics and physics (full-time and distance learning);
- additional university education, where in addition to basic training, students have the opportunity to obtain a number of additional qualifications (full-time and distance learning);
- additional postgraduate education associated with the system of retraining and advanced training or with obtaining a second higher education (physics, computer technology).
The structure of the department of additional education includes:
- Correspondence physics school
A significant place in the educational work of the department is occupied by training according to the program "Computer techologies", which includes more than 50 different courses developed by the faculty of the department.
Evening physics and mathematics school provides training in mathematics, physics, computer science, Russian language, literature. One-year and two-year training is offered. Training on the proposed programs contributes to the successful delivery of the exam. In addition to preparing for the Unified State Examination, entrance exams and Olympiads, the evening physics and mathematics school provides fundamental training necessary for the successful development of the general course of physics and higher mathematics in universities. Seminars in elementary physics are conducted by experienced teachers of Moscow State University, authors of standard school textbooks in physics. Students of preparatory courses are given the opportunity to visit the lecture hall in physics free of charge with demonstrations of physical experiments. In 2009, all graduates of the School of Physics and Mathematics at the Faculty of Physics became students of Moscow State University and other leading Moscow universities.
The Distance Education Center allows schoolchildren from all over Russia to receive training in mathematics and physics from the leading teachers of these disciplines, employees of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Any interested student can enroll in courses held semester-by-semester (in a free schedule within the approved curriculum) on a paid basis. In addition, groups of students can be sent by schools as part of additional education and preparation of schoolchildren for participation in Olympiads in physics and mathematics. Center website.
The second higher education is another higher education in addition to the existing one. The reasons for getting a second higher education can be different. Someone would like to be more competitive in the labor market, and someone would like to retrain and change their field of activity.
After the Bologna process in Russia, this standard has changed a little, and today Russian universities offer bachelor's or master's degrees in a convenient part-time form as second higher education programs.
The classical full-time form of education is less common, for example, at the Faculty of Journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Also, if you are considering the option of exclusively full-time education, in order to get fundamental training, you can pass the Unified State Examination and enroll in undergraduate programs along with school graduates.
Peculiarities
1. Convenient format
Most of the programs of the second higher education can be obtained in a convenient evening form of study. The load at the same time will be quite high - with classes almost every day and on weekends. Sometimes universities develop an individual curriculum, as, for example, at Moscow State Technical University. N.E. Bauman.
2. Reduced undergraduate studies
Studying under the program of the second higher education in the bachelor's format, as a rule, takes 3 years, in contrast to the standard form of the bachelor's degree, which lasts 4 years. This rule does not apply to the magistracy: the second higher education in the form of a magistracy usually lasts 2.5 years.
3. Only paid education
According to the law, education in the programs of the second higher - bachelor's or master's degree - is possible in Russia only on a contractual basis. At the same time, the cost of education is quite comparable with the cost of education in a bachelor's degree.
4. Admission not based on the results of the exam
In many universities, for admission to the second higher education, it is necessary to pass the exams of the universities themselves. In rare cases, it may be enough to pass an interview.
