Stomach hurts, periods do not come. What to do if there is a delay in menstruation and abdominal pain, no menstruation and a stomach ache? Anovulatory cycle: the normal functioning of the body

The early onset of menstruation is determined by various symptoms. For many of the fair sex, a few days before menstruation, the lower abdomen begins to hurt. The intensity of sensations has an individual character. However, with the onset of menstruation, they pass. Sometimes the lower abdomen hurts, but there are no periods. Why is this happening? Should I be worried?

Causes of abdominal pain as with menstruation in their absence

Shortly before menstruation, the uterus prepares to reject the extra layer of endometrium, which was formed during the preparation of the body for fertilization. It spasms, blood flow to the pelvic organs is disturbed, unpleasant sensations arise. There is no menstruation when discomfort occurs due to natural or pathological processes.

natural causes

The menstrual cycle is regulated by hormones. Under the influence of various factors, the rate of production of progesterone and estrogen changes, so there may be a shift in the cycle. At the same time, premenstrual symptoms begin, but the regulation is absent in due time. The stomach hurts like during menstruation, but they are not there for the following reasons:

  • Excessive physical activity. Due to the strong tension in the body, the speed of transmission of commands from the brain to other organs is disrupted. If a woman, shortly before the start of the cycle, worked hard physically, pains in the lower abdomen appear, but the regulation does not go. Discomfort may increase if the press area has been stressed.
  • Stress and anxiety. A stressful situation also forces the brain to slow down the rate of reproductive processes. The uterus prepares for rejection of the endometrium, but the processes that contribute to the release of secretions are not activated.
  • Pregnancy. After fertilization of the egg, for some time there is discomfort in the abdomen, but menstruation does not come. Unpleasant sensations arise due to the fact that the embryo, when implanted in the uterus, slightly damages the uterine layer.
  • Lack of ovulation. Sometimes the ovaries do not produce an egg, so ovulation does not occur. This phenomenon is called the anovulatory cycle. This condition is normal for every woman. The number of anovulatory cycles increases with age. Despite the absence of a mature egg, menstruation goes on, but with a delay of about a week. In this case, all premenstrual symptoms persist.
  • Bad nutrition. The lack of vitamins and microelements in the diet negatively affects the formation of hormones and the contractility of the uterus. The abdomen may hurt, but the discharge does not begin.
  • Change of climate, rhythm of life, moving. The body perceives new conditions as a threat. During the adaptation period, menstruation is delayed. However, in preparation for them, the lower abdomen still aches.
  • Age changes. After 45 years, the production of estrogen in the female body decreases. The following symptoms appear: pain in the lower abdomen, dizziness, no menstruation.

Pathological processes

As a rule, if the lower abdomen hurts, but the regulation is absent for natural reasons, the process returns to normal in the next cycle. However, when it hurts a lot, and the cycle does not return to normal, diseases of the reproductive system may develop.

The absence of menstruation with abdominal pain indicates the following pathologies:

  • Ectopic pregnancy. Violations in the work of the reproductive system lead to the fact that the fertilized egg is attached outside the uterine cavity. There are no periods, but unpleasant symptoms appear. The pain during ectopic implantation is very severe.
  • Risk of miscarriage. If the pregnancy test showed a positive result, but the stomach hurts and pulls, there is a risk of fetal rejection.
  • Hormonal imbalance. With a lack or excess of female sex hormones, menstruation is delayed or does not occur at all. In this case, discomfort manifests itself both at the beginning and in the middle of the cycle.
  • Inflammatory processes of the urinary tract (cystitis, pyelonephritis, urolithiasis). At the same time, unpleasant sensations accompany a woman on different days of the cycle - both before and after menstruation.
  • Inflammation of the genitals. Pain and delayed menstruation cause endometritis, adnexitis, salpingitis, infectious processes in the cervix and vagina. Discomfort is present regardless of the cyclicity.
  • Appendicitis, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Hernia in the lower part of the spine, inflammation or pinched nerve.
  • Benign and malignant tumors.

If you do not seek help, a woman may die from blood loss.

Treatment tactics

The principles of treatment of pain in the lower abdomen depend on their cause. If the lower abdomen hurts for natural reasons, special therapy is not needed. To restore the cycle, you need to establish nutrition, reduce physical activity, protect yourself from stress. To reduce painful symptoms, a single dose of No-shpa is allowed.

In the case of pathological abnormalities, the tactics of treatment are determined depending on the disease. You cannot self-medicate. What to do, the doctor will determine after making an accurate diagnosis. The type of drugs and the regimen from the reception are selected depending on the following factors:

  • the severity of the pathology;
  • patient's age;
  • the presence of pregnancy;
  • related manifestations.

Can there be no pain if menstruation has come?

When menstruation comes, the pain in the abdomen should subside. However, this symptom is individual for each woman. Sometimes pain remains during the first days of the monthly cycle.

Some of the fair sex do not have pain during menstruation. The absence of pain is not a pathology. If menstruation begins on time and is not accompanied by unpleasant symptoms, the woman is absolutely healthy. Anxiety should cause the emergence of new unpleasant sensations. To exclude pathology, you need to consult a doctor.

Pain in the abdomen with a delay in menstruation, the reasons why it hurts in the lower abdomen with a delay in menstruation

Women have become increasingly concerned about the problems associated with delayed menstruation and the resulting abdominal pain. Gynecologists believe that these problems largely depend on the deterioration of the surrounding ecosystem. In the world around us, it is actively polluted, and this cannot but negatively affect the health of a modern woman. Poor nutrition, smoking, drinking alcohol and the current environment cause abdominal pain during the delay of menstruation. That is why cases have become so frequent when women actively visit a gynecologist on issues related to the problems of delay or absence of menstruation.

It should be understood that when the cycle of menstruation in women proceeds without any disturbances, long delays and there are no pronounced pains in the abdomen, this indicates good health. The regularity and constancy of the onset of monthly cycles, painless menstruation, are a kind of indicator of a woman's well-being and excellent immunity. Conversely, the pain that occurs during the delay of menstruation indicates the appearance of unwanted problems that require special attention. But they should not be confused with severe pains below, in the groin area, which appear in the abdomen after active sex. Very often, if the pain in the lower abdomen during or after sex is not associated with rough sexual contact or other mechanical influences, then such pain may indicate that the cause is a gynecological disease.

Every woman is familiar with the signs of premenstrual syndrome, PMS. Knowing these symptoms is very important. Such pain in the abdomen before the onset of menstruation for many women is a signal that the pregnancy has not occurred and the cycle of menstruation has resumed. The approach of premenstrual syndrome is judged by the occurrence of minor pain in the lumbar region and the lower abdomen, preceding the onset of menstruation. What to do if there is pain in the lower abdomen, and there is no expected menstruation for a long period of time.

What to do if it hurts a lot in the lower abdomen when menstruation is delayed?

First you need to determine if there is a pregnancy. At the same time, severe pain that occurs in the abdomen during pregnancy may indicate the identification of some kind of pathology, as well as the appearance of an ectopic pregnancy and other problems. But more often these signs still confirm the presence of pregnancy. To determine a possible pregnancy, tests are used that are now available in many pharmacies. What to do when the stomach hurts, there is a delay in menstruation, and the test gives a negative result? Such symptoms should cause particular concern in a woman. Therefore, it is recommended that you definitely contact a gynecologist in order to prevent the cause that causes a delay in menstruation and abdominal pain.

What could be the reasons for the delay in menstruation?

The main reasons for the delay in the onset of menstruation in women include not only poor nutrition and the influence of negative environmental influences, but also frequent nervous breakdowns and various stresses. Eating fatty and very spicy foods, including smoked, salty, overcooked foods in the diet leads to a strong weakening of the body. All this negatively affects the regularity of the menstrual cycle. It goes without saying that a weakened female body with particular difficulty has to control the processes of the timely appearance and painless passage of secretions.

What diseases can be if there are pains in the lower abdomen with a delay in menstruation?

It is important to note the following types of pathologies, which often occur when menstruation is delayed and pain in the lower abdomen. The most common causes of severe pain in the pubic area, severe pain in the groin, or if the pain in the lower abdomen radiates to the lower back, and menstruation has not come, these are problems such as:

1 diseases of the reproductive system;

2 ailments of the functionality of the ovaries;

3 symptoms of ectopic pregnancy;

4 formation of cysts on the ovaries;

5 age-related changes in the body during puberty or menopause;

6 sudden uterine bleeding;

7 Asherman's syndrome;

8 chronic kidney and thyroid disease;

9 threat of miscarriage;

10 diabetes mellitus;

11 inadequate and poor-quality nutrition;

12 debilitating diets that lead to a weakened immune system.

In some cases, the occurrence of a delay in menstruation and the formation of pain in the lower abdomen are a sign of an existing pregnancy. However, this condition causes serious problems associated with the well-being of women. In addition, if the pains are strong and intense, most likely, there is a weakening of the functioning of the genital organs. So, with the appearance of periodic or constant, aching or sharp, throbbing or intense pain in the abdomen with a delay in menstruation, you should consult a doctor. A qualified specialist will appoint a woman a complete examination, ultrasound, find out their true cause and offer specific appointments.

The delay in menstruation and the pain that occurs in the lower abdomen, a consequence of the action of all the above signs. Such symptoms cause very serious concern. During the period associated with a delay in menstruation, this is a consequence of problems caused by dysfunction of the ovaries and the uterus itself. This may indicate the presence of diseases and health problems such as: amenorrhea, polycystic ovaries, adnexitis, uterine fibroids, salpingophoritis, etc. Very often, the listed indications are observed, repeated and transmitted from mother to daughter at the same age, from generation to generation. Therefore, they are isolated as a hereditary problem and are classified as diseases at the genetic level.

The reasons that cause disturbing pains in the lower abdomen and provoke unhealthy menstrual flow may be severe colds or the progression of certain sexually transmitted diseases. They cause inflammation of any genital organs. Usually such pains in the lower abdomen have a pulling and aching character and appear before the onset of menstruation. Pain in the lower abdomen, in the absence of menstruation, may occur after severe emotional stress or as a reaction of the body to various nervous experiences and severe disorders. But prolonged depression usually causes rather unexpected and prolonged menopause.

Can there be pregnancy if there is no menstruation and it hurts in the lower abdomen?

Pregnancy, in the early stages of its manifestation, involves the appearance of mild pain in the lower abdomen, which women most often characterize not as a slight pain in the groin or the usual discomfort in this area. But, on the other hand, such pain in the lower abdomen during pregnancy may indicate the appearance of certain diseases. The main thing in such situations is not to leave the appearance of severe pain in the abdomen without attention. You should immediately purchase at a pharmacy and take a pregnancy test. And in order for a future pregnancy to pass without complications and the danger of its interruption, you need to visit a antenatal clinic, be examined and receive specific recommendations from a doctor. Only a safe and calm pregnancy should not cause a woman discomfort in the lower abdomen. But occasional mild nausea is not a sign of concern.

Short delay and abdominal pain

There are examples when the body postpones the onset of menstruation. At the same time, pain in the lower abdomen is characteristic, the breasts “fill up”, a slight swelling appears in the body, which suggests the approach of menstruation. A visit to the attending physician will explain the delay in menstruation and the pain in the abdomen that bothers the woman. He will be able to give the necessary recommendations only after a complete examination of the female organs on ultrasound.

PMS is the cause of abdominal pain when menstruation is delayed

The next important reason for a slight delay in menstruation and the occurrence of chest pain can be not only the onset of pregnancy, but also the manifestation of symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Usually this is evidenced by the presence of weakness throughout the body, metabolic disorders, the development of depression, the consequences of nervous stress.

Amenorrhea and pain in the lower abdomen

With prolonged, from several months and even up to six months, delays in menstruation, if they are accompanied by pain and recurring symptoms of premenstrual syndrome, doctors diagnose amenorrhea. This is a very serious disease and it is caused by a malfunction of the entire female body. In such cases, the treatment of abdominal pain should only be treated by a gynecologist. With the full clarification and confirmation of the diagnosis of "amenorrhea", hormonal preparations are usually prescribed. Their reception is made only under control, and visits to the hospital are required. If the test result was positive and confirmed the pregnancy, and the patient has pain in the lower abdomen, with a slight delay, you should urgently see a specialist.

Treatment of abdominal pain with delayed menstruation, what to do, how to treat?

You should consult a specialist on the occurrence of pain in the lower abdomen when there is a delay in menstruation. Such problems are the consequences of emerging diseases and various pathologies. If they are neglected, this will lead to serious complications and long-term treatment. At the same time, it is impossible to ignore and allow the appearance of temperature, fever, intensification and attacks of pain. Such pain should not be tolerated. You need to contact the experts urgently. The faster women do this, the faster relief and recovery will come.

Even before a visit to a specialist, you should independently analyze and determine the possible causes of the onset of painful symptoms. First, you need to remember when the last menstruation was, how they passed. Then count the number of days of delay and independently do a pregnancy test. You need to carefully consider whether during this period there were any strong emotional and stressful situations, prolonged depression, taking any antidepressants or other medications. To confirm the fact of pregnancy with an existing delay in menstruation for three or more days, you need to use a test for a possible pregnancy. To confirm it, you should repeat the test for the presence of pregnancy after one or two days. Disturbing, lower abdominal pain in the event of a delay in menstruation is a reason for an urgent trip to a gynecologist. Self-medication can lead to dangerous and irreversible health consequences, and in order to avoid them, contact specialists in time.

My stomach hurts before menstruation, what to do, which doctor to contact? If the pain is acute, unbearable, then, of course, it is necessary to call an ambulance. And the medical worker, doctor or paramedic who arrives will decide whether to take you to the hospital or not, he will tell you which department. This may be the department of surgery, if, for example, you suspect an intestinal obstruction, or gynecology, if there is a suspicion of a ruptured ovarian cyst.

But we will consider situations that are not urgent, often arising, and therefore causing so many questions for women.

1. Premenstrual syndrome. Can the stomach hurt before menstruation or is it very bad? For many women, about a week before the onset of menstruation, the stomach periodically begins to ache slightly. Many consider this a sign of endometriosis. But this happens even in healthy women. And the closer the onset of menstruation, the more often the pain occurs. Tangible ones begin 1-2 days before critical days, the reason is a sharp decrease in the level of progesterone, which dampens the excitability of the endometrium. There is no pregnancy, progesterone drops, menstrual bleeding begins.

2. Pregnancy with the threat of termination. If the stomach and chest hurt before menstruation, when they are about to begin, then this can be a threat of miscarriage in a very short time. The fact is that the mammary glands, on the contrary, stop hurting before critical days. If your stomach is pulling like before menstruation, and there is a possibility of a desired pregnancy, take a sensitive pregnancy test, it will show the exact result 3-4 days before the start of the delay. But if it is long, you will have time to go to the doctor to prescribe you a progesterone drug, because the lack of this particular hormone leads to contractions of the endometrium, provokes a miscarriage. Of course, the stomach hurts in the early stages of pregnancy for many women, but not everyone has a miscarriage. But it is better not to risk the desired child. To start taking progesterone, contrary to popular belief, you do not need to take an analysis. If the expectant mother feels the tone, and even more so if she has bloody discharge from the vagina, taking progesterone will benefit. When pregnancy hurts the stomach as before menstruation, this is an occasion to urgently take an antispasmodic. "No-shpa" (tablets) and "Papaverine hydrochloride" (suppositories) should always be at hand for the expectant mother.

3. The most common reasons why the stomach hurts before menstruation in non-pregnant women in the interval about 12 hours or less before the onset of critical days is a pathology called dysmenorrhea. If a woman has painful menstruation almost from her youth, this is most likely the explanation. The myometrium is actively contracting and thereby provokes discomfort in the lower abdomen. Pain is treated before menstruation by taking hormonal contraceptives or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs - painkillers. "Ibuprofen", "Indomethacin", "Aspirin" and others. Combined preparations containing an antispasmodic are also suitable. For example, "Baralgin".

4. Endometriosis. If the stomach often hurts before menstruation, spotting appears before the 21st day of the menstrual cycle, it is not possible to conceive a child for a long time, it may well be that this very common gynecological disease is to blame. Endometriosis, localized in the uterus, is diagnosed with ultrasound. More precisely, the doctor can write a suspicion of its presence. An accurate diagnosis is made during hysteroscopy - a visual examination of the uterus with an optical device and during laparoscopy - if there are foci of endometriosis in the ovary, peritoneum, etc. If there are endometrioid formations, they are removed. But in the case of the spread of endometriosis in the muscular layer of the uterus (adenomyosis), it will not be possible to remove it. And if the lower abdomen hurts before menstruation due to adenomyosis, hormonal drugs are prescribed for the purpose of treatment. These may be conventional oral contraceptives, which are used to protect against unwanted pregnancies.

The delay in menstruation and the lengthening of the menstrual cycle occurs for natural and pathological reasons. Normally, the release of menstrual fluid stops with the development of pregnancy. A woman will feel a pulling pain, as during menstruation, but no liquid will be released. This process is natural, you only need to pass a pregnancy test and an examination by a doctor. Pathological processes in the reproductive organs lead to dangerous reasons for the development of a delay in menstruation. If your pregnancy test is negative, you should see your doctor as soon as possible.

How to determine the delay of menstruation

The menstrual cycle normally lasts 21-35 days. The absence of discharge for more than 5-7 days is a reason to consult a doctor. At home, you need to conduct a pregnancy test. If the test is negative, the gynecologist prescribes a hysteroscopy. This procedure allows you to examine the uterine cavity to determine pathologies.

The delay of menstruation is divided into three stages:

  1. 1. Menstruation is 5-7 days late from the norm.
  2. 2. Violation, in which the menstrual cycle is extended to 40-60 days. The release of fluid occurs within 1-2 days.
  3. 3. Absence of menstruation for more than 6 months.

The standard delay in a healthy woman occurs no more than 2-3 days. A deviation is considered to be an extension of the cycle for a week or more. Women over 45 suffer from hormonal disruptions that indicate the approach of menopause. Allocations will be of a meager nature, and the cycle will lengthen.

Absence of menstruation during pregnancy

One of the reasons for the delay is pregnancy. The test allows you to determine the presence in the urine of a hormone that is produced 7 days after conception. A negative result may be false or questionable. This happens if it is carried out on the day of the expected menstruation. The appearance of a dull second strip indicates that the test is positive. In this situation, you should re-check the next day. It is advisable to buy another test. Early pregnancy can be confirmed by ultrasound and blood tests.

Symptoms during pregnancy:

  • raising the temperature to 37 degrees;
  • mammary glands increase or coarsen;
  • discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes of the vagina;
  • a woman has a pain in her lower abdomen;
  • changes in the perception of taste and smell;
  • sleepiness in the morning;
  • the woman is sick, vomiting appears.

Ectopic pregnancy

With an ectopic pregnancy, there is a pulling pain in the left or right side of the lower abdomen. There is such a problem in women who have congenital narrow fallopian tubes. In them, the fertilization of the egg occurred, which did not have time to reach the uterine cavity. An ectopic pregnancy can be identified by the following symptoms:

  • the appearance of nausea;
  • dizziness;
  • weakness;
  • pain of a cutting and pulling nature;
  • pale skin.

An ectopic pregnancy threatens to rupture the tubes. At the same time, a sharp pain of a cutting nature is felt. The rupture area is inflated under the skin. The skin turns pale, a bluish tinge appears on the abdomen. The person is capable of losing consciousness. Urgent medical attention is needed.

Other reasons for the absence of menstruation

Abnormal curvature of the uterus

Often the menstrual cycle is accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen. But the absence of discharge with pulling pain indicates the presence of diseases..

Common pathologies in which there is a delay in menstruation:

  • Congenital curvature of the body of the uterus. At the age of 12-14 years, the first menstruation appears. The anomaly of the position of the uterus manifests itself from the first days of menstruation. A person feels pain of a pulling nature. The temperature rises and the general condition of the body worsens. White discharge with an unpleasant odor indicates the presence of purulent processes. The bending of the uterus leads to the accumulation of secretions in its cavity. Menstruation becomes smearing. It has clots and is dark red in color.
  • Tumors and adhesions. In this situation, there is also an accumulation of blood and the absence of menstruation. A woman needs to undergo examinations to determine the exact cause of the blockage of the lumen.
  • Atrophy of the mucous membranes due to hormonal failure. The epithelium does not separate from the uterus, so menstruation does not begin. This occurs in women of advanced age or after suffering severe infectious diseases.

Less common causes:

  • overwork;
  • stress;
  • infectious diseases;
  • urolithiasis disease;
  • endometriosis;
  • varicose veins;
  • cystitis;
  • colitis.

What needs to be done

It is forbidden to treat the absence of menstruation with the help of folk remedies. Some pathologies can develop infertility, so you should seek qualified help and advice from the hospital. You should take a pregnancy test several times. At the same time, they must be from different manufacturers so that the falsity of the result is reduced to zero.

Treatment in the absence of menstruation:

  • Anomalies in the position of the uterus are corrected with the help of surgical intervention. This must be done as soon as possible so that there are no problems with conceiving a child in the future.
  • Adhesions of the intrauterine space are determined during hysteroscopy. Treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis with scraping. The top layer of the uterine lining is removed. There are no periods for one month after the procedure. Sometimes adhesions occur due to hysteroscopy. Then it needs to be done again.
  • Atrophy of the mucous membranes of the uterine cavity is treated with hormone therapy. The gynecologist prescribes drugs after passing the examination. A woman takes a blood test and determines the level of estrogen. After 2-4 weeks of therapy, the supply of the uterine mucosa returns to normal.
  • Varicose veins of the pelvis leads to the appearance of pulling pain in the lower abdomen. The woman's lower back is constantly aching, but this is not evidence of imminent menstruation. Veins with varicose veins dilate to abnormally large sizes. There is a risk of rupture of the vessel, so surgical intervention is necessary.
  • The main reason for the development of cystitis is hypothermia of the pelvic region. The risk group includes people with a sedentary lifestyle. The disease appears in women who do not follow the hygiene of the genital organs. In the acute course of the disease, antispasmodics and antibiotics are prescribed. Stay in bed and drink plenty of fluids.
  • In case of colitis, it is necessary to consult a gastroenterologist. He will prescribe a diet and the necessary treatment based on the symptoms of the disease. Antibacterial and antimicrobial drugs are used to treat the disease. If helminths are the cause of colitis, then antihelminthic drugs are prescribed.
  • Urolithiasis is treated in two ways. The first method is more gentle. It consists of medication to get rid of kidney stones. Such drugs soften them, and the body removes them through the urinary canal. In the case when the stone closes the entrance to the kidney, surgical intervention is prescribed. In this case, you should get rid of the problem as soon as possible. Otherwise, there is a risk of kidney loss.
  • Severe stress and overwork significantly affect a woman's menstrual cycle. With constant nervous tension, it is necessary to change the situation and remove the irritant from your life. Sedatives will help you to calm down. Together with them, it is desirable to take a course of taking vitamins B12, D, E. They have a beneficial effect on the tissues of the nervous system and help it recover from stress.
  • After a viral illness, you should add foods containing a large amount of vitamins to your diet. A woman during this period needs to drink plenty of water and rest. Stress and exercise should be avoided whenever possible.

Women who have been planning a child for a long time worry and experience each cycle, looking for symptoms of a possible desired pregnancy. Is it possible to say that pregnancy has come if the lower abdomen hurts, and there have been no expected periods for several days? Let's try to answer this question.

One out of two

Indeed, aching, slight pain in the abdomen can be caused precisely by the onset of pregnancy and manifest itself even before the delay in menstruation. Approximately 6-14 days after fertilization, the embryo from the fallopian tube enters the cavity of the uterus itself and attaches to its wall. In some cases, during this complex process, women feel short-term pain that can last only a couple of hours. Sometimes it is accompanied by discharge with the inclusion of bloody streaks.

Pain can also appear on the days of the expected menstruation. The body is just beginning to hormonally rebuild to a new state, so in the early stages, pain during the period when menstruation should come can last up to three months. On such days, a woman should especially take care of herself, not overstrain and not worry.

Of course, pain in the absence of menstruation can be caused not only by a long-awaited pregnancy. The delay is possible for various reasons: hormonal failure, the presence of inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system, stress, climate change, etc. The pain that has appeared may just remind you that menstruation will begin very soon. If there has been no menstruation for a long time, but there is no pregnancy either, a woman urgently, without postponing for later, needs to go to an appointment with a gynecologist.

Other symptoms

In addition to the delay and pain in the lower abdomen, the expectant mother at an early stage may feel the following signs of an interesting situation in her body:

  1. nausea, most often occurring in the morning;
  2. aggravated sense of smell and change in taste habits;
  3. sudden constipation and gas formation;
  4. increased amount and altered nature of vaginal discharge;
  5. constant fatigue and increased drowsiness, malaise;
  6. soreness of the mammary glands;
  7. frequent urge to urinate.

These are just some of the symptoms that indirectly indicate that fertilization has occurred in the body. In order to still determine pregnancy for a short period with a delay of several days, a woman can take a test or donate blood. Both methods are based on determining the indicator of the hCG hormone (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is normally produced during pregnancy.

Special Hazard

If the pregnancy is confirmed by tests or blood test results, and the pain during the delay continues or even intensifies, the woman should immediately inform the doctor about this. The following pathologies can become the cause of painful spasms covering the lower abdomen in the early stages:

  1. Ectopic pregnancy. Unfortunately, the embryo can attach not in the proper place for it - the uterine cavity, but also outside it. In this case, a woman may feel acute cramping pain, a sharp jump in temperature, vomiting, dizziness. With such symptoms, an emergency ambulance and hospitalization are needed.
  2. Risk of miscarriage. Acute pain encircling the abdomen and lower back, for a short period of time, may occur with the threat of termination of the entire pregnancy. The expectant mother may notice profuse vaginal discharge, often with blood impurities. In addition, the temperature may rise, severe weakness and malaise appear. It is also not worth delaying in contacting doctors here.
