Sunglasses "Polaroid HD": reviews. Polaroid glasses description Polaroid sunglasses why they are good

Why buy polarized glasses? How to choose them correctly? Is it worth focusing only on the brand?

Why buy polarized glasses?

The bright sun in both summer and winter brings a lot of inconvenience. In addition to direct blinding rays, glare reflected from a wet road, water surface, snow crystals, or simply from windows or house facades attack from all sides. The glare makes your eyes tired and sore. Such reflections make it difficult to see objects and people, especially motorists, cyclists and other road users suffer from them.
To protect the eyes from the harmful effects of reflected light, glasses with polarized lenses were invented in Europe in the 30s of the 20th century. Unlike conventional sunglasses, which just make the image darker, polarized lenses cut off glare and extra light rays, and the picture itself remains clear and contrasting, without loss of quality. The polarization effect itself has been known to physicists for a very long time, but Edwin Herbert Land, the founder of Polaroid Corporation, became the first to use it in glasses, after which the name of this brand became a household name - today many people call "Polaroids" any glasses with polarizing lenses. But this is not entirely true. Today almost all major brands have glasses with polarized lenses: Ray-Bаn, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Carrera, WileyX and many others.
How to choose the right polarized glasses? Is it worth focusing only on the brand and what parameters should be taken into account? Let's try to find answers to these questions together.

Polaroid

Let's start, of course, with the oldest participant in the market: Polaroid is known all over the world. Among the large selection of glasses, there are iconic designer models, and affordable for the average buyer (from $ 30). The lenses in these glasses consist of nine separate layers, one of which is polarized.
All Polaroid glasses are tested for scratch and impact resistance. They will last a long time, with careful handling - several decades. Perhaps even your great-grandchildren will get vintage Polaroid glasses from the beginning of the 21st century
The company follows global production trends, so glasses and lenses are made from environmentally friendly materials. The disadvantages for the average Russian buyer are the high probability of running into a fake.

Ray Ban

In their advertising, Ray-Bans guarantee 100% eye protection against UV and reflected rays. And we have no reason to doubt it - for the manufacture of lenses and frames, materials of high European quality are used.
The design is pleasantly pleased with decorative elements made of stone, wood and genuine leather. Ray-Ban brand glasses have a very recognizable style, but despite the presence of original models, many disparage the brand for the same type, especially in the line with polarized lenses.
The cost of original glasses starts from $100 and there are few licensed sellers of these glasses in Russia.

Cafe France

Cafa France brand glasses can be put on the same level with Polaroid - the same attention to the technical nuances of production, a large selection of models, both for women and men, and an affordable price (from $ 25).
There are eight layers in Cafa France lenses, that is, only one less than Polaroid. They are distinguished by a high polarization index and 100% UV protection. Cafa France also has glasses with yellow lenses that increase contrast, which is very convenient, for example, at night or in the snow.
Cafa France have proven to be the ideal goggles for car enthusiasts. Not only due to the high quality of polarization and a clear picture, which improves visibility on the roads, but also due to special plastic lenses that will not break in the event of an accident and keep the driver's eyes and face intact.

carrera

Carrera glasses are famous for their "indestructibility". Designed for athletes and extreme sports enthusiasts, these goggles will withstand any drops, flights and impacts. They are durable, lightweight and comfortable.
Frames are made from special patented polymers and alloys. A special casting technology makes it possible to produce stylish, daring, bright models - a wide variety of shapes and color variations.
The models of glasses of this brand are interesting with absolutely colorless lenses, which, nevertheless, contain ultraviolet and polarizing filters.
These glasses start at $100.

What to look for when choosing polarized glasses?

First, on the material of the lenses. Plastic lenses are lighter and more comfortable to wear, but require delicate handling (for example, they cannot be wiped with a regular cloth or harsh cleaning agents). Glass lenses are more resistant to fading and endowed with more stable optical characteristics, however, as a rule, they are more massive and heavier.
Secondly, on the frame material. It can be both plastic and metal, and even wooden. The frame must be sufficiently plastic and durable. Many manufacturers, such as Cafa France, allow customers to “drop” or try to bend glasses right on the sales floor to make sure they are reliable.
Thirdly, on the shape of the frame. Many articles and recommendations have already been written about this. Well, when you know your face shape and the models that suit you, then you can order glasses over the Internet in full confidence that they will fit. In another case, if you do not want to make a mistake, it is better to try on glasses before buying. In addition, during the fitting, you will be able to evaluate the comfort while wearing: are the glasses light enough? Do they interfere with the view? Do they not press or, on the contrary, do they fly off with a sharp turn of the head?
And of course, the most important thing is that you should like glasses, like any thing that you let into your life. We hope these tips help you find the best glasses of your life!

The first glasses, Polaroid released in the 30s of the last century. These are the safest and most comfortable sunglasses on the market today. Polaroid, thanks to many years of experience, has improved manufacturing technology in combination with stylish Italian frames.

Polarization - what is it and why is it important?

As is known, polarizing light, in contrast to the daylight, spreads only vertically and horizontally. It is in the vertical plane that there is light that is useful to the human eye.

Glare, which, when light comes into contact with water or other mirror surfaces, is formed in a horizontal plane, interfere and cause eye fatigue. To protect against glare and the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays, Polaroid serves. Glasses that improve the contrast of perception and color reproduction allow you to feel comfortable.

Due to the violation of the protective layer of the earth, there is dangerous to human eyes radiation. Polaroid has 100% solved this problem. Sunglasses limit the penetration of dangerous rays and completely eliminate harm.

Sunglass lens technology

Manufacturing technology designed for innovative production, which allows you to reliably protect the polarization layer from damage and to shape the reducing thickness towards the edge.

Polaroid sun lenses are made up of multiple layers that fit together perfectly. That is why the glasses have a very high quality characteristic.

What are the benefits of Polaroid lenses?

There is a polarizing film in the middle of the lens. This is the main element due to which protection occurs. The film is surrounded by a layer that eliminates the harm of ultraviolet radiation by absorbing it. Next, there is a coating that makes the lenses flexible and durable. The next layer is unique, it is resistant to scratches and other mechanical damage.

In 2006, Polaroid launched a lens that confirmed the company's leadership in the production of sunglasses and set the modern quality standards.

The lens was made in the UK, the latest pressure polishing technology was used in its production. It is able to absorb a certain amount of infrared radiation, which makes wearing glasses comfortable and reduces the transmitted heat.

Convenience and durability of use is due to the extra layer and Paloroid quality, glasses do not wear out for a long time, break less often and always look like new.

Glasses for everyone, combining technology and fashion

Sunscreen glasses are popular for over 69 years. At first they were used only by athletes, lovers of water sports. To date, the scope has expanded, sun lenses, Polaroid began to be used not only by professionals, but also by ordinary people.

Types of sunglasses manufactured by Polaroid

  • for men
  • female
  • sports
  • children's
  • unisex

By the markings on the original Polaroid sunglasses, you can understand for whom they are intended, from which collection and what material was used for the manufacture of. The first letter that the license plate contains indicates the collection and for whom this model is intended. Then comes the figure showing the material of the product, the next - the year of manufacture, the last - the color.

Choosing sunscreen eye protection products, a person wants to look stylish and original, formally or informally, Polaroid successfully solves all these tasks. Glasses should be comfortable and fit well, the frame should be light and durable, should not break, it's good when the price matches the quality.

It is worth buying sunglasses of the shape that suits the type of face. Choose the color according to the purpose of use: for a very bright sun, for fishing, driving a car and more.

On what material stop when choosing sunglasses Polaroid is a matter of taste. Glass or plastic? Plastic, if it is of high quality, can be no worse than glass, and besides, it is lighter and stronger. Children are not recommended to buy glass Polaroid glasses. The price of such lenses is much higher, they fog up faster and are much heavier than plastic. Due to the increased risk of injury, sunglasses with glass lenses are not recommended for active sports.

The difference between Polaroid sunglasses and a fake

A fake Polaroid can be distinguished from the original by some features:

  1. By the number on the shackle, it should not be erased and consists of 4 digits
  2. The brand name must be present. Polaroid sun lenses that don't have the official logo printed on them are fake.
  3. Passport book with a code that matches the number on the handle is a distinctive feature of the original
  4. Low price and quality of individual parts says it's a fake Polaroid

In the summer, without eye protection, it is easy to get a sunburn of the retina and eyelids, leading to swelling and a sharp deterioration in vision. Ordinary sunglasses bought on the market without certificates in this case may not protect you, due to the lack of guarantees from the seller. If the glasses have lenses that distort the image, it is better not to wear them at all, because apart from discomfort and headaches, they will not bring anything. More and more people are realizing the benefits of using high quality polarized lenses from Polaroid.

Today, one in five pairs of sunglasses sold worldwide are polarized, totaling over sixty million polarized lenses.
Vertically directed light emission is beneficial to human eyes. A fixed horizontal light simply creates obstructions, side effects of reduced visibility, glare, color distortion, eye fatigue and irritation. Vertically incident light helps to recognize natural colors and sharp contrasts, which ultimately provides the greatest driving comfort.
Polaroid branded lenses, the inventor of polarized lenses, are a high-tech optical product. They contain a built-in vertically directed filter that effectively prevents horizontal light (the glare creator - the main enemy of the motorist) from entering the eyes, and does not prevent vertical light from entering.

Benefits of Polaroid polarized lenses:

  1. 100% UV protection,
  2. the ability to visually distinguish various objects without glare,
  3. clear and contrasting image (optics class 1),
  4. natural colors,
  5. reducing the effect of eye fatigue,
  6. reliable protection against damage.

Specialists have proven that the usual wearing of glasses with polarized lenses improves visibility and speeds up reaction, which negates the risk of accidents while driving.
As a rule, lens manufacturers use the vacuum forming method during production. The essence of the method is that a flat lens blank is bent by vacuum. This technology does not carry out the so-called "optical correction" of the lens, which puts the eye at risk of too much stress.
Unique Thermofusion™ development- optical fine tuning of the lens as a result of its bending. Lenses shrink to the edges, which guarantees perfect visual perception. UltraSight™ lenses are used in all Polaroid polarized sunglasses.

The lens consists of several layers:

  • The heart of the multi-layer structure of the nine-layer UltraSight™ lenses is a polarizing light filter at the center.
  • Light absorbers blocking various types of UV radiation are located on both edges of the filter.
  • Optically correct reinforcing elements adjoin each side of the UV absorbing layers, making the lenses impact resistant and flexible.
  • The last protective layer is unique, resistant to scratches and other mechanical damage.

Polarized sunglasses are made with 3 types of ULTRASIGHT™ lenses:
- UltraSight IX- 9-layer lens belongs to the innovative generation of polarized lenses. It is represented in the models of the Kids, Inkognito and Core lines.
- UltraSight XI- the lens (1 mm thick) is represented by two additional shock-absorbing layers. The lens can be found in the old collections of "Furore"
- UltraSight XIV- Premium lens (1 mm thick) with three additional coatings for better visual perception without glare. This first class lens has been made to guide Hoog, Premium man's and Premium wooman's glasses. A premium Polaroid lens can be identified by a distinctive bluish tint on the inside of the lens

POLAROID® Premium (Xoor) Sunglasses are the right solution for real drivers and connoisseurs of quality.

Fashionable design and unsurpassed quality - this is for men and women. In this direction, only the most first-class UltraSight ™ XIV lenses are presented, providing a high-quality visual image without distortion. They are ideal not only for traffic control, but also control the high protection of UV 400, blocks glare due to enhanced polarization. Natural colors, high contrast - You no longer need to squint, your eyes rest and your reaction time on the road increases.

Polarized lenses Premium(Xoor) handle thrice, which significantly revalues their quality during operation. Hydrophobic coating on the inside (hydor-water and phobos-fear) protects glasses from fogging and condensation. The lens surface has an easy-cleaning quality, this allows them to remain invariably clean - without imprints and stains that complicate visibility.

A few years ago, I got a small extra amount of money and I decided to make myself a gift and buy high-quality sunglasses, because I had read about the dangers of ultraviolet radiation, which can have a negative effect on the retina, and I began to fear the appearance of early mimic wrinkles.

I went to an optics store and was surprised to find that there were as many sunglasses offered as ordinary ones, that is, a lot, my eyes just ran wide, there was plenty to choose from. Different models, different prices, different quality.

However, the consultant advised to look at polaroid glasses. The price for them was slightly higher than for others, and I asked her in disbelief why she advised them in particular. Is it because they are more expensive? But a competent consultant explained to me in detail why they are better.

It turns out that polaroid glasses almost the only ones in which lenses are made using the polarization effect. Such lenses have a multilayer structure, inside of which there is a special polarizing film that transmits only vertically polarized light rays and blocks light rays reflected from horizontal surfaces (to be honest, this is school physics, section - optics). As a result, reflected, glare rays do not interfere with the formation of a clear image on the retina. This is especially true for drivers if on the roadway in sunny weather there is a reflection of the rays that create an emergency on the road. It is also important for athletes involved in skiing or snowboarding, since the sun's rays are very actively reflected from the snow cover.

Polarized sunglasses let in a much smaller percentage of the sun's rays than regular sunglasses, which provides greater visual comfort and additional protection of the cornea and retina from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays.

This effect is enhanced by additional UV filters that cover the lenses of Polaroid glasses. Without UV filters, sunglasses cannot be called such in any case, because they not only do not provide any protection, but, on the contrary, they harm. In dimming, the pupil expands significantly and transmits much more harmful radiation to the retina than without dimming.

Such exposure to sunlight on a healthy eye can lead not only to burns, early cataracts and optic nerve dystrophy, but also to the onset of retinal melanoma. Therefore, it is simply necessary to protect your eyes from the sun's rays, especially when they go almost vertically (that is, in summer).

All this was told to me by a consultant and, for greater credibility, she let me try on glasses and look into them and without them with a visual device, so that I could feel the effect of polarization on myself.

It really is something incredible! Without glasses, there was a lot of reflected rays inside the camera of the device, and with glasses one could just see the inner surface of the camera. So the polarization effect was not fictional.

Despite the hefty cost of 5500 rubles I bought Polaroid glasses that I liked the most and have been wearing them with pleasure for several years now.

Not only is their shape and design the same, they still have not gone out of fashion (I have the P523 A model), but the quality is just excellent.

When buying high-quality Polaroid companies, you don’t want to pay money for a fake fake. A low-quality copy can damage not only your wallet, but also your health - bad glasses in sunglasses can negatively affect your eyesight. Therefore, before you go shopping, you should think about how to distinguish fake Polaroid glasses. Fortunately, pseudo-Polaroid manufacturers have not learned how to completely copy the brand's products, so it is still possible to distinguish a fake from the original.

What you should pay attention to?

In order to understand whether your sunglasses are brand products, you do not need to wear them for a long time or subject them to experiments, you just need to carefully examine the accessory. First of all, you should pay attention to three elements:

  1. Left bow.
  2. Right bow.
  3. Label.

Genuine Polaroid glasses must have a nine-square diamond logo and brand name on the left arm. Apart from these symbols, there should be nothing on it.

There should be four values on the right bow:

  1. European certification mark "CE".
  2. Model number, which can include 4-5 letters and a number, or two letters, at the beginning and end, and 4 numbers.
  3. The phrase "Filter Cat".
  4. The number indicating the density of the filter - from one to four.

Counterfeit Polaroid glasses can contain a large number of meaningless symbols that do not carry any information. If you see the inscription “Made in Italy (UK, USA, etc)” when checking Polaroid glasses, then be sure that these glasses have nothing to do with the original.

But before you check the arms of your Polaroid glasses, take a close look at the label. It should consist of four pages, each of which is a high-quality laminate with text. Since 2008, glasses for Russian-speaking countries have been supplied with labels in Russian. The name of the collection must be on the first page of the label, with the exception of the Core collection. On fake Polaroid glasses, the label is of poor quality or does not exist at all.

Also, the price of the product can serve as a signal about the pseudo-Polaroid. Polaroid glasses from the Kids collection start at $22, the Xoor collection from $75, and other models from $36. Of course, during the discount season, the price may differ.

Thus, you only need a few minutes to understand whether they are offering you the original or just a copy of the product of the famous brand.
