Regidron composition instructions for use. What helps "Regidron". Instructions for use. Additional information about Regidron

Name:

Regidron (Rehydron)

Pharmacological
action:

Regidron- a drug for the correction of energy and electrolyte balance. Restores water-electrolyte balance, disturbed by dehydration; corrects acidosis. The osmolality of the Regidron solution is 260 mosm/l, pH is 8.2.

Compared to standard oral rehydration solutions recommended by WHO, the osmolality of Regidron is slightly lower (the effectiveness of solutions for rehydration with reduced osmolality is well proven), the sodium concentration is also lower (to prevent the development of hypernatremia), and the potassium content is higher (for faster restoration of potassium levels). ).

Indications for
application:

- Restoration of water and electrolyte balance, correction of acidosis in acute diarrhea (including cholera), with thermal lesions associated with impaired water and electrolyte metabolism; for the purpose of prevention - thermal and physical activity, leading to intense sweating.
- Rehydration oral therapy in acute diarrhea with mild (weight loss is 3-5%) or moderate (weight loss is 6-10%) degree of dehydration.

Mode of application:

Before starting treatment the patient should be weighed to assess weight loss and degree of dehydration. Patient nutrition or breastfeeding should not be interrupted during oral rehydration therapy or should be continued immediately after rehydration. It is recommended to avoid foods rich in fats and simple carbohydrates. To prevent dehydration, Regidron should be taken as soon as diarrhea begins. Usually the drug is used for no more than 3-4 days, treatment is stopped with the end of diarrhea.

In case of nausea or vomiting, it is advisable to give the solution chilled in small repeated doses. You can also use a nasogastric tube under medical supervision.

For rehydration, Regidron is taken during the first 6-10 hours in an amount that is twice the weight loss caused by diarrhea. For example, if the body weight loss is 400 g, the amount of Regidron is 800 g or 8.0 dl. During this phase of treatment, the use of other fluids is not required.

Solution preparation rules: one sachet is dissolved in 1 liter of water, the prepared solution is taken orally. If there is no certainty that the water is potable, it must be boiled and cooled before preparing the solution. The prepared solution should be stored in a cool place at a temperature of 2 ° to 8 ° C and used within 24 hours. Do not add any other components to the solution so as not to disrupt the effect of the drug.

Side effects:

When using the drug according to indications and at recommended doses, side effects are unlikely.

special instructions

severe dehydration(weight loss of more than 10%, anuria) should be corrected with the use of rehydration agents for intravenous administration, after which Regidron can be prescribed. Do not exceed the recommended doses of the drug, if the need for additional administration of electrolytes is not confirmed by laboratory tests.

Do not add sugar to the solution. Food can be given immediately after rehydration. In case of vomiting, wait 10 minutes and give the solution to drink slowly, in small sips. Patients in whom dehydration has developed against the background of renal failure, diabetes mellitus or other chronic diseases in which acid-base, electrolyte or carbohydrate balance is disturbed require careful monitoring during treatment with Regidron.

When using the drug Regidron a doctor's consultation is required in the following cases: slow speech, rapid fatigue, drowsiness, the patient does not respond to questions, an increase in body temperature over 39 ° C, cessation of urine output, the appearance of loose bloody stools, diarrhea lasting more than 5 days, sudden cessation of diarrhea and the appearance of severe pain if treated at home inefficient and impossible.

Contraindications:

Kidney dysfunction.
- Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
- Non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus.
- Unconscious state.
- Intestinal obstruction.
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Interaction
other medicinal
by other means:

The drug interaction of the drug Regidron has not been studied.. The solution of the drug has a slightly alkaline reaction, therefore, it can affect the effectiveness of drugs, the absorption of which depends on the pH of the intestinal contents. Diarrhea itself can alter the absorption of many drugs that are absorbed in the small or large intestine, or drugs that are metabolized through intrahepatic circulation.

Overdose:

Symptoms: with the introduction of a solution of Regidron in a large volume or excessive concentration, hypernatremia is possible (weakness, neuromuscular excitation, drowsiness, confusion, coma, sometimes even respiratory arrest); in patients with impaired renal function, metabolic alkalosis may develop, which manifests itself in a decrease in lung ventilation, neuromuscular excitation and tetanic convulsions.
Treatment: in case of significant overdose, medical supervision is required. Correction of the balance of electrolytes and fluids should be carried out on the basis of laboratory data.

Modern life, with its extraordinarily fast pace, stress and snacking on the go, is such that diarrhea is not such a rarity. And, of course, these diseases do not go away for a person without a trace, contributing to dehydration and disruption of the salt balance of the body. Regidron, a powder portioned preparation, will help to cope with this.

Regidron: new packaging

The drug of the Finnish company Orion Corporation is a means of restoring and correcting the acid-base balance, produced in the form of an easily soluble powder. The composition of the drug includes sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium citrate.

In addition, the main component of the product is glucose, thanks to which the level of salt and citrate in the body necessary to maintain the acid-base balance is maintained.

In other words, it is exactly the drug, the intake of which allows you to recover in case of loss of a large volume of fluid and essential trace elements, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal diseases.

In its composition, it has exactly those useful substances that, in case of poisoning and gastric infection, are excreted from the body with vomit and diarrhea in the first place. A feature of this powder is the complete absence of smell and sour taste. It is also good as an emergency measure, as it dissolves easily and quickly in large amounts of water and is applied orally, both orally and through a special probe inserted nasally.

The cost of the drug is quite affordable - the price for a package of the drug varies from 250 to 400 rubles. And, considering that there are several portion bags in the package, the benefit is noticeable. The medicine is indicated for use by both adults and children and, no doubt, should always be at hand.

Regidron: indications for use

Regidron - to combat dehydration

It is a means of correcting electrolyte and energy balance. Its use as a medicinal product restores balance disturbed by diseases and prevents complete dehydration of the body caused by many causes.

The tool can be prescribed by doctors and dispensed without prescriptions, and its reception is necessary in such cases as:

  • The appearance of symptoms of infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract
  • Increasing
  • Violation of the acid-base and water balance of the body
  • Violation of ph - blood balance
  • Loss of large amounts of fluid in the form of sweating during fever or strenuous exercise
  • When you get sunstroke
  • With other losses of a large volume of fluid by the body

Regidron is not only one of the most affordable means of restoring the balance of water and trace elements in the body. It was found that it also helps to cope with tasks of a different type: the body. Taking the drug together with a large volume of liquid allows you to remove the aldehyde toxin from the body, formed under the influence of the alcohol taken. Thus, the balance of trace elements is restored, and, accordingly, well-being improves.

The solution of the drug allows you to restore the supply of glucose lost by the body after feasts and festivities. This improves the functioning of the brain and nervous system.

Contraindications

Regidron: to relieve alcohol intoxication

However, as is the case with any drug, Regidron also has a number of contraindications that should not be ignored. It is not recommended to take the drug in cases where:

  • The patient has an excess of potassium in the body
  • Has a tendency to high blood pressure
  • If the patient has been diagnosed with type 1 or 2
  • If you have kidney or liver problems (including severe kidney failure)
  • There is intestinal obstruction
  • The patient has an individual intolerance to the components of the drug.

In the event that none of these problems can prevent you from taking Regidron in an emergency, you should remember that improper use of it, like any other medicine, can lead to an overdose of the drug, which, in turn, can cause such consequences like:

  1. confusion and drowsiness;
  2. A sharp increase in temperature (not lower than 39 degrees)
  3. Muscular excitability
  4. convulsions
  5. Difficulty breathing and stopping it
  6. Coma.

Despite the seeming harmlessness of the components included in the composition of Regidron, it is recommended to use it with the obligatory consideration of the recommendations specified in the instructions for use.

Regidron: dosage of the drug

Due to the effectiveness of Regidron, the drug can be taken at home. Using the powder is easy and simple - just dilute the contents of the dosed sachet in boiled water and mix thoroughly.

The solution is recommended to be consumed in small sips immediately after preparation. Breaks between doses should be frequent, but short. Options for self-use of Regidron solution depend both on the disease and on the age of the affected person:

  • With vomiting and diarrhea, it is recommended to use a solution of 50-100 ml in 5-7 minutes
  • In the same case, you can inject the solution through a nasal tube for five hours.
  • Use 100-150 milliliters of solution for physical overload, heat stroke or thirst
  • or vomiting in a child must be based on the calculation of 50 ml of solution per kilogram of weight.
  • Thus, the recommended dosage of the drug for a child is a teaspoon every 5-7 minutes for 12 hours.
  • To maintain normal water and electrolyte metabolism, it is necessary to take a solution of Regidron 80-100 ml with an interval of 10 minutes

The dosage of drugs is given in an approximate version. More accurate information on the use of the solution should be checked with your doctor, taking into account the individual characteristics of the body. In addition, to maintain the effectiveness of the drug, it should be remembered that:

  1. Do not add any flavor enhancers to the solution
  2. The solution should be stirred, lifting the sediment from the bottom, before each dose.
  3. The drug can be taken both before and after meals.

How to prepare medicine at home

Regidron: for solution preparation

In the event that you do not have the opportunity to purchase the drug in a pharmacy, and treatment remains necessary, it can always be prepared at home. In order to prepare the solution yourself, you need:

  • Liter of cool boiled water
  • 3 grams of salt
  • 3 grams of baking soda
  • 25 - 30 grams of granulated sugar

It is necessary to use a home remedy taking into account the dosage of the usual drug and all of the above intake rates. A self-prepared solution, like a diluted powder from a bag, is not recommended to be stored for more than two days.

In addition, you can not store the finished solution in the sun and uncovered. In this case, the effectiveness of the product is markedly reduced, which leads to an additional risk to health. Despite the fact that when taking the drug Regidron was not detected, it is not recommended to use it in excessively large volumes.

It is worth remembering that this remedy is a medicine, and, therefore, with the exception of especially critical cases, it requires consultation with your doctor. However, as effective and proven for decades and generations, this tool should always be in the first aid kit of anyone who cares about their health and the health of loved ones.

Unfortunately, sometimes there are moments in our lives that cannot endure even the slightest delay and require prompt assistance, especially often this happens in the summer. Relieve the condition with vomiting and diarrhea in the state of the pharmaceutical preparation "Regidron". How to take and breed this remedy will be discussed in this article.

First of all, let us understand that with the help of "Regidron" it is possible to correct the electrolyte and energy balance of the organism in distress. Indications for taking the drug are:

  • acute diarrhea (as well as cholera);
  • diarrhea with moderate or mild weight loss (dehydration). For example, a loss of 3 to 9% of body weight in children;
  • recovery process of water and electrolyte balance;
  • heat stress in conjunction with a violation;
  • preventive measures for intense physical and thermal stress with concomitant increased sweating.

How to cook "Rehydron"?

Usually, a bag of powder is diluted in one liter of pre-boiled and cooled to room temperature water. To avoid disrupting the action of the drug, it is not recommended to add any other components to the solution. Before starting the solution, it is necessary to weigh the patient. In order to accurately determine the loss of body weight and the percentage with which Regidron is successfully fighting. How to take the solution? It is worth noting that this drug is not taken for more than three to four days in a row. Drink it in small sips immediately after the next stool. Do not forget to mix the solution thoroughly before each use. Take the medicine at the rate of approximately 10 ml per kilogram of the patient's body weight for every hour. Thus, if the body weight is, for example, 40 kg, then, accordingly, every hour a person needs to drink about 400 ml of the Regidron solution (about two glasses). How to take it right? Of course, you should not be zealous - “the more the better”, because this will not be beneficial. Drink often, but little by little. In the case when oral administration of the drug is not possible, it is administered through the direct supervision of a physician. After the cessation of diarrhea, the intake of the Regidron solution is stopped.

It will not be superfluous to know that allergic reactions are possible when taking Regidron. How to take it in such cases? The instructions for the drug explain that if the uncontrolled intake of the drug is excluded and the recommendations are followed, the occurrence of adverse reactions is almost impossible.

However, this drug has contraindications:

  • hypersensitivity to its components;
  • intestinal obstruction;
  • loss of consciousness;
  • diabetes;
  • functional disorder of the kidneys.

How to breed "Regidron" for admission during pregnancy and lactation? Dissolve, as usual, strictly adhering to the recommended doses. "Regidron" is also allowed for use by children until they reach the age of three. It is usually recommended to give the baby a teaspoon of the solution for 4-6 hours at regular intervals (10 minutes). Before giving the drug to a child under six months of age, you must first consult a pediatrician.

In case of unforeseen situations, for example, such as:

  • diarrhea lasting more than 5 days;
  • the appearance of bloody liquid stools;
  • cessation of urine output;
  • body temperature over 39°C;
  • drowsiness, slow speech in the patient and unwillingness to answer questions;
  • the impossibility of carrying out treatment at home or treatment that does not bring relief;
  • sudden cessation of diarrhea with the onset of severe pain, -

you should immediately consult a doctor. Remember how serious the state of dehydration is, in no case do not self-medicate. Timely consultation with a doctor, adequate prescribing of medications, along with strict adherence to all recommendations, is a guarantee of successful and quick relief from diseases. Be healthy!

There are many reasons for poisoning. Recommendations for the treatment of this pathological condition are reduced, first of all, to quickly removing the toxin from the body and thereby establishing its normal functioning. Moreover, it is necessary to start removing the toxin as early as possible, otherwise the consequences can be extremely severe. In this sense, the use of Regidron allows you to cope with the therapeutic tasks.

Let's figure out what Regidron is and how to use it in any conditions to help a person in an acute state of poisoning.

What is Regidron

This is a powder, which includes the following substances (for an amount of 18.9 grams):

  • sodium chloride (3.5 g);
  • sodium citrate (2.9 g);
  • potassium chloride (2.5 g);
  • glucose (10 g).

The osmolarity of the solution is 260 mosm/liter. The pH level is slightly alkaline (8.2).

The package contains 20 bags of 18.9 grams of powder. As you can see, these are substances that are excreted by the body with vomiting and liquid feces. The powder dissolves very well in water and is intended for internal use. After dissolving it in water, a solution with a certain salty-sweet taste is obtained.

The loss of these substances leads to dehydration of the body and a decrease in the amount of electrolytes. At the same time, the pH of the body decreases. Taking Regidron helps to restore water and electrolyte balance and pH.

Among other drugs, Regidron is preferable to take, since it contains relatively less sodium and more potassium. This contributes to a faster action and a better effect.

How to prepare a solution

It is very easy to prepare the solution. To do this, one sachet must be dissolved in a liter of water. It will have the right concentration of electrolytes and glucose.

Water for the solution must be taken boiled. Pour the contents of the sachet into a container of water and stir thoroughly until completely dissolved. It is better if the water temperature is close to body temperature.
The resulting solution can be kept in the refrigerator for no longer than a day. It must be used strictly according to indications.

How to take the drug

The solution should be drunk slowly after each liquid bowel movement or vomiting, that is, when the body loses water. In one hour, you need to drink 10 ml of solution per kilogram of mass. That is, a person weighing 70 kilograms per hour needs to drink 700 ml of liquid. After a new attack of vomiting, the dosage should be increased by another 10 ml per kg of weight.

The greatest effect from Regidron can be only if the following recommendations are followed. Follow them strictly in case of poisoning.

These rules are easy:

  1. Nothing should be added to the solution to improve its taste.
  2. It should be drunk in small sips and slowly. At one time, do not drink a lot of liquid, as this can provoke vomiting. The therapeutic effect of this will decrease.
  3. Each time before taking Regidron, the solution must be stirred.
  4. It is used regardless of the meal.

After improving the state of health, there is no need to drink Regidron in the above dosages. Its amount can be reduced to 5 milliliters per kilogram. However, with the resumption of vomiting, treatment should be continued.

If all the instructions for taking Regidron are followed, no side effects are observed. During the entire period of treatment, it is necessary to constantly monitor the patient, since the development of allergic reactions is not excluded.

Treatment should be continued until vomiting and diarrhea completely disappear. This often takes several days.

Features of the reception for diarrhea

Regidron should be taken immediately after the appearance of signs of diarrhea and continue treatment until it stops. Always remember that there are contraindications to taking and that no extraneous additives can be added to the solution. It is advisable to weigh the patient to find out fluid loss.

The use of the drug for diarrhea is standard. Carbohydrate-containing foods should be excluded from the diet.
It is necessary to take Regidron with diarrhea until it completely stops. As a rule, this period does not exceed three to four days. With severe dehydration in the first ten hours, we can take the drug in an amount twice the fluid loss.

Taking the drug by children

Children are very difficult to tolerate poisoning. Repeated vomiting, as well as diarrhea, lead to acute dehydration of the body. That is why in families with small children, the presence of Regidron sachets is mandatory.

During treatment, parents should constantly monitor the health of the child. You must carefully read the instructions for use of the drug. The main rule of treatment is that rehydration of the child's body should be carried out gradually and carefully. Small children should be given the drug with a spoon.

For children, it is necessary to give from 25 to 60 milliliters of the prepared solution per kilogram of body weight. This amount is calculated for ten hours. That is, a child weighing 15 kg should take 900 ml of the solution for 10 hours, or 90 ml per hour. When the child's condition improves, it should be transferred to the "adult" dose - 10 ml per kilogram of body weight.

Otherwise, you need to act with vomiting in a child. The solution is given after about 10 minutes. after the end of vomiting. You can make ice cubes from a solution. When the urge to vomit, the cube is placed on the tongue, which prevents its occurrence. In this case, when the ice melts, the water will gradually be absorbed already in the mouth. However, remember that this method of taking the drug is only allowed in cases where the baby can chew food.

Treatment continues until the symptoms of poisoning disappear completely.

When treating children with Regidron, some caution must be observed. The fact is that in some cases, large concentrations of sodium can be dangerous for young children. In addition, they dehydrate much faster than adults.

In order not to assume that Regidron is dangerous for the health of babies (this is far from the case), we advise you to consult a pediatrician before using this drug. He will prescribe the necessary dosage, completely based on your case. It is possible that he will recommend another drug.

The main thing in the treatment of children with this drug:

  • its use is unacceptable in diabetes mellitus, as well as in acute renal failure;
  • it is not recommended to take it with a high content of potassium (only a doctor can determine this);
  • the child during treatment must be carefully monitored;
  • if he becomes emaciated, his body temperature rises, and diarrhea and vomiting do not go away.

It often happens that Regidron is not at hand. In this case, a teaspoon of salt and sugar should be dissolved in a liter of water and given to the child to drink. In extreme cases, you can brew tea, preferably green and weak, and slightly sweeten it. You can also give compote, cooked on the basis of raisins.

Always remember that in case of dehydration and poisoning, water must enter the child's body. And if it is lost as a result of vomiting and diarrhea, then its intake should be twice the loss.

When to increase the dosage

Remember that such a drug has an alkaline reaction. So the general rules of admission require compliance with the dosage of such a medicine. This is especially true in cases of severe poisoning and dehydration.

In some cases, a slight excess of the dosage of Regidron is permissible. However, this should be done only under the condition of careful monitoring of the electrolyte balance of the blood. Of course, this can only be done in a hospital setting.

Perhaps the use of the drug and persons to whom it is contraindicated. Again, such categories of patients should be under close medical supervision. With a rise in temperature, weakness, other undesirable symptoms, the use of this remedy is immediately stopped.

Is the drug harmful to pregnant women

During pregnancy, as well as breastfeeding, this remedy is allowed and completely safe. Naturally, it is necessary to carefully observe the therapeutic dosage and in no case exceed it.

During pregnancy, the side effects of Regidron are practically excluded. At the same time, you need to carefully monitor your well-being, since allergic reactions are not excluded.

Consider all possible risks and contraindications when using this medicine. It is advisable to consult a doctor before taking it while pregnant.

When not to take Regidron

There are contraindications to taking Regidron:

  1. Diabetes (insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent type);
  2. Increased potassium content in the body;
  3. High blood pressure;
  4. Renal failure (severe);
  5. Intestinal obstruction;
  6. Intolerance to the components of the drug;
  7. Coma.

Overdose of Regidron

It was mentioned above that when the dose is observed, side effects of the drug are not observed. However, individual patients may exceed the indicated doses of Regidron in the hope of achieving faster detoxification.

Such intentions can negatively affect the state of health and, moreover, lead to adverse consequences. The reason for this is the increased content of sodium in the blood during an overdose.

Symptoms of an overdose of Regidron are:

  • confusion of consciousness (sometimes - the development of coma);
  • increased excitability, nervousness;
  • convulsions;
  • muscle weakness, sometimes paralysis;
  • respiratory disorders;
  • the appearance of tetanic convulsions due to a change in pH (in the alkaline direction).

In such cases, treatment with Regidron is discontinued. You must immediately consult a doctor.

Preparation of the drug at home

It often happens that at home you urgently need to prepare a solution for detoxification, but there is no opportunity to purchase Regidron. In these cases, you can replace the medicine from the funds that are always at home. You will get a solution with a similar effect.

To prepare it, you need to take a liter of water. 3.5 grams of salt, 2 - 2.5 grams of soda and 20 to 30 grams of sugar are added to it.

Nevertheless, such a solution has one drawback: it lacks potassium. To get a solution that is closest to Regidron, you need to add calcium chloride to it in an amount equivalent to 2.5 grams.

If there is a solution of potassium chloride at home, then you need to add a solution of this drug in an amount that contains these 2.5 grams. You can calculate this amount by knowing the concentration of potassium chloride in the pharmacy solution.

Means with a similar effect

The pharmaceutical industry produces a large number of drugs with a similar effect. They can be successfully used in case of intoxication that develops for various reasons. It is worth paying attention to such drugs that have detoxification and rehydration effects.

Hydrovit. This drug also copes with intoxication and dehydration, but its disadvantage is that it has much less necessary substances. The drug is used strictly according to the instructions.

Trihydron has a similar composition. One sachet of the drug is designed for half a liter of water.

Citraklukosolan is available in various modifications, depending on the sugar content, respectively, the instruction allows the use of several dosages.

Reosolan has the same application.

Also, instead of Regidron, you can use:

  • Acesol;
  • Trisol;
  • Disol;
  • Neohemodes;
  • Quintasol.
  • and other means with a similar effect. Carefully follow all recommendations for their reception.

Treatment for alcohol poisoning

In medical practice, Regidron is also used to relieve alcohol intoxication. In this case, it is very useful. The fact is that after excessive drinking, a person produces a large amount of decay products. As blood pressure decreases, the heart rate increases. Alcohol metabolites deplete the nervous, digestive systems.

The accumulation of alcohol breakdown products and irritation of the gastrointestinal tract eventually leads to vomiting. She, in turn, dehydrates the body, which only aggravates an already serious condition. And since some alcoholic beverages have a diuretic effect, increased diuresis leads to an increase in dehydration.

The use of Regidron in such cases helps to remove toxins from the body, restores water electrolyte balance, and significantly improves well-being. The work of the cardiovascular system also improves, which gives a good healing effect with this kind of poisoning. Due to the fact that Regidron contains glucose, the work of the brain and liver improves, toxic substances are removed from the bloodstream faster.

Individual cases of using the tool

In some cases, Regidron can be used for acute dehydration of the body, when, against the background of an extremely serious condition of the patient, it is urgent to replenish fluid and electrolyte reserves in the body. In this case, the drug is administered by infusion. This is also acceptable in cases where the loss of body fluid reaches 10 percent or more. Such treatment is carried out only in a hospital setting.

If, when the amount of circulating blood is restored against the background of acute intoxication, the patient continues to vomit and diarrhea persists, then intravenous infusion of Regidron is also indicated.

In chronic renal failure, therapy is permissible in a hospital setting and under the full supervision of the attending physician. The same observation is necessary in cases of acute disturbance of water-electrolyte and carbohydrate metabolism.

It is strictly forbidden to add sugar or glucose to the preparation when administered orally. The solution is given until the symptoms of acute intoxication completely stop and all indicators of the body are brought to the physiological norm.

Without the intervention of a doctor, the administration of the drug should be urgently stopped when such acute symptoms appear:

  • patient fatigue;
  • drowsiness;
  • a jump in body temperature over 39 degrees;
  • the appearance of blood in the feces;
  • continuation of acute diarrhea, despite the administration of the drug, for more than five days;
  • with interruption or complete cessation of diuresis;
  • the appearance of pain in cases where diarrhea stops;
  • if it is impossible to achieve an improvement in the patient's condition or if his condition further worsens.

Use in infectious diseases

In infectious diseases (for example, with cholera), Regidron is used to restore water balance. At the same time, rehydration treatment is equated to resuscitation measures, since it is aimed at the speedy restoration of the amount of fluid and electrolytes in the body. Their supplies are quickly lost, so if resuscitation is not started immediately, death can occur.

The drug is administered to patients in a jet, and when signs of restoration of water and electrolyte balance appear, it is dripped. The dosage of the drug is prescribed depending on the clinical picture of the disease. Perhaps the internal administration of the drug.

For first and second degree dehydration, rehydration can be done orally. The glucose included in the preparation improves blood absorption. The amount of solution should be one and a half times more than its loss with vomiting and diarrhea.

Sometimes it is allowed to introduce a saline solution, which is similar in its properties to Regidron. For this, 5 grams of sodium chloride, 4 grams of sodium bicarbonate and 1 gram of potassium chloride are taken per liter of water. Water for dissolving these substances is only distilled, pyrogen-free. During the course of treatment, it is possible to administer up to 20 or even more liters of such a solution (since fluid loss is possible as a result of repeated vomiting and diarrhea).

With an increased content of potassium in the blood, the composition of the solution changes: 6 grams of sodium chloride and 4 grams of soda are introduced per liter of water.

Treatment of severe dehydration

The loss of more than 10 percent of the body's fluid is extremely dangerous, as hypovolemic shock develops. And the loss of more than 20 percent of water is fatal to humans. Severe dehydration should be treated immediately.

Regidron in such cases is used to accelerate the recovery of lost fluid, as well as water-salt metabolism. It is injected in a jet. Oral administration of the drug can be justified only if the person is in a conscious and stable state, does not feel nausea, he does not have vomiting.

Treatment of children should be carried out only in intensive care units. It is necessary to constantly monitor the doctor, as dehydration in children develops rapidly.

Remember that a person in such an extremely difficult condition can be saved only if help is provided in a timely manner.

Pay attention to these tips on the use of Regidron:

  1. It can be used to replenish fluid and salt losses during intense physical exertion. To do this, it is recommended to drink the solution in small sips after training.
  2. With heat stroke, the solution also proves to be useful: it helps to replenish fluid reserves from sweating.
  3. In case of alcohol poisoning, it is possible to use Regidron together with other anti-alcohol drugs. This enhances their effect.
  4. It is possible to use Regidron in case of poisoning with poor-quality products. It is necessary to drink the solution in proportion to the loss of fluid during vomiting and diarrhea, which in this state is almost inevitable.
  5. For a child, it is better to give the solution in small portions. So his action will be better.

So, Regidron is an effective drug that normalizes a person's condition in case of poisoning. If you follow all the recommendations for taking it, it does not cause side effects and is not harmful.

Regidron is an antimicrobial, intestinal anti-inflammatory and antidiarrheal drug. It is used for detoxification and rehydration.

Contraindications

Regidron should not be used:

  • Patients with dysfunctional kidneys;
  • With diabetes mellitus (both type 1 and type 2);
  • For the treatment of patients who are unconscious;
  • With ileus (intestinal obstruction);
  • In case of hypersensitivity to the components included in the preparation.

Patients who develop dehydration due to diabetes mellitus, renal failure or other chronic disease, accompanied by an imbalance of acids, alkalis, carbohydrates or electrolytes, require careful monitoring during treatment with Regidron.

Method of application and dosage

To prepare a solution of Regidron, one sachet of powder should be dissolved in a liter of water. If there is reason to believe that the water is not suitable for drinking, it is recommended to boil and cool it before preparing the solution. The finished medicine is taken orally.

Before starting therapy, the patient is weighed to assess the degree of dehydration and weight loss.

To prevent dehydration, it is recommended to start taking the solution as soon as diarrhea begins. As a rule, the duration of the use of Regidron does not exceed 3-4 days. Treatment is stopped with the end of diarrhea.

In case of nausea or vomiting, it is advisable for the patient to take the solution in small repeated doses and chilled. Under the supervision of a physician, the use of a nasogastric tube is allowed.

To restore body fluid loss during the first 6-10 hours, Regidron is taken in an amount twice the weight loss caused by diarrhea. So, for example, if the patient has lost 500 g of weight, the amount of solution is 1000 g (10 dl). At this stage of treatment, the patient's body does not need to receive other fluids.

If diarrhea continues after correction of dehydration, in addition to Regidron, the patient is given water and other liquids.

The amount of fluid required depends on the weight of the patient:

  • A child weighing 5 kg should receive 8.3 dl of liquid: including 3.5 dl of Regidron solution, 2.1 dl of water and 2.7 dl of other liquids;
  • With a weight of 6 kg, the body needs 10 dl of liquid: 4.2 dl of solution, 2.5 dl of water and 3.3 dl of other liquids;
  • With a weight of 7 kg - 10.5 dl of liquid: 4.4 dl of solution, 2.6 dl of water and 3.5 dl of other liquids;
  • With a weight of 8 kg - 11 dl: 4.6 dl solution, 2.8 dl water and 3.6 dl other liquids;
  • With a weight of 9 kg - 11.5 dl: 4.8 dl solution, 2.9 dl water and 3.8 dl other liquids;
  • With a weight of 10 kg - 12 dl: 5 dl solution, 3 dl water and 4 dl other liquids;
  • With a weight of 12 kg - 13 dl: 5.4 dl solution, 3.2 dl water and 4.4 dl other liquids;
  • With a weight of 14 kg - 14 dl: 5.8 dl solution, 3.5 dl water and 4.7 dl other liquids;
  • With a weight of 16 kg - 15 dl: 6.2 dl solution, 3.7 dl water and 5.1 dl other liquids;
  • With a weight of 18 kg - 16 dl: 6.6 dl solution, 4 dl water and 5.4 dl other liquids;
  • With a weight of 20 kg - 17 dl: 7 dl of solution, 4.2 dl of water and 5.8 dl of other liquids;
  • With a weight of 25 kg - 18 dl: 7.5 dl of a solution, 4.5 dl of water and 6 dl of other liquids;
  • With a weight of 30 kg - 19 dl: 8 dl solution, 4.8 dl water and 6.2 dl other liquids;
  • With a weight of 40 kg - 21 dl: 9 dl solution, 5.4 dl water and 6.6 dl other liquids;
  • With a weight of 50 kg - 23 dl: 10 dl of solution, 6 dl of water and 7 dl of other liquids;
  • With a weight of 70 kg - 27 dl: 12 dl solution, 7.2 dl water and 7.8 dl other liquids.

In case of vomiting in a patient, you should wait 10 minutes, then slowly, in small sips, drink the medicine.

Side effects

Subject to the dosage regimen described in the instructions, the risk of side effects is extremely low. Potentially possible hypersensitivity reactions.

Taking a solution of Regidron in too high a concentration or in an excessively large volume can cause hypernatremia, which is accompanied by nervous and muscular excitement, weakness, confusion, drowsiness, coma, and sometimes even respiratory arrest. Patients with impaired renal function may develop metabolic alkalosis, which is manifested by nervous and muscular excitation, decreased ventilation of the lungs and tetanic convulsions.

With a significant overdose, the patient should be under the supervision of a physician. Correction of the balance of fluid and electrolytes is carried out taking into account the results of laboratory studies.

special instructions

It is impossible to add any additional components to the solution, as this may cause a violation of the drug.

During the period of oral rehydration therapy, the nutrition of the patient or breastfeeding of the child does not need to be stopped.

During treatment with Regidron, you should avoid eating foods high in fat and simple carbohydrates. It is forbidden to add sugar to the solution.

The drug interaction of Regidron has not been studied. However, it should be borne in mind that diarrhea itself can interfere with the absorption of most drugs that are absorbed in the small or large intestine, as well as drugs that are metabolized by intrahepatic circulation.

The solution has a slightly alkaline reaction, and therefore may affect the effectiveness of drugs, the absorption of which depends on the pH level of the contents of the intestinal tract.

In case of severe dehydration of the body, when weight loss exceeds 10% of the initial body weight, and the patient develops anuria, Regidron is used in combination with rehydration preparations for parenteral administration.

If the results of laboratory studies do not confirm the need for additional administration of electrolytes, do not exceed the doses of the drug recommended by the manufacturer.

The patient needs to consult a doctor if during the period of the drug he has:

  • Fatigue increases;
  • Speech slows down
  • Drowsiness develops;
  • The temperature rises above 39 ºС;
  • Diarrhea lasts more than 5 days;
  • The excretion of urine stops;
  • Diarrhea stops suddenly and severe pains appear;
  • Bloody impurities appear in loose stools;
  • Treatment at home does not give the expected therapeutic effect.

Regidron does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and perform work that requires a high rate of mental and motor reactions.
