Tomorrow, May 27, deputies of the Duma of the Yaroslavl region will consider the issue of approving Vladimir Kovalchuk, a Yamal resident, as the first deputy governor of the region.

As the expert channel "UralPolit.Ru" said today, May 26, a source in the apparatus of the embassy of the Ural Federal District, the former chief federal inspector for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug has already taken up his duties in a new post. Now the question is who will take his place.

“Recently, Vladimir Krupinin, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District, traveled to Yamal and held consultations. But the issue has not yet been finally resolved,” the source said.

Boris Kirillov, deputy plenipotentiary in the Ural Federal District, also confirmed to UralPolit.Ru that Latyshev accepted Kovalchuk's resignation. “Now several candidates for this post are being considered, we announced the results later,” the deputy said.

It should be noted that in early April, the government of the Yaroslavl region started talking about the next personnel changes, which were conceived by the newly appointed governor Sergei Vakhrukov (previously holding the position of deputy plenipotentiary representative of the Urals). In particular, Vakhrukov will have a first deputy. Earlier, Deputy Mayor of Yaroslavl Sergey Yastrebov was matched to this place.

On April 29, the chief federal inspector in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug confirmed to the correspondent of UralPolit.Ru that the governor of the Yaroslavl region, Sergei Vakhrukov, had made him an offer to work in the Yaroslavl government.

“Yes, the offer has been received. But for now, I'm thinking about it. In the meantime, I continue to work as a GFI. So I took part in the meeting of the council at the plenipotentiary in Yekaterinburg as a representative of Peter Latyshev. Whether I leave or not, time will tell, ”Kovalchuk said then.

In the information policy department of the Yaroslavl region, UralPolit.Ru was told that Vladimir Kovalchuk had already visited the city several times, met with representatives of the political elite of the region.

As UralPolit.Ru reported earlier, the current governor of the Yaroslavl region, Sergei Vakhrukov, is familiar with Kovalchuk from his work in the Urals Federal District. The 54-year-old official worked in the structures of Gazprom, in particular, in Nadymgazprom. In 1994, Kovalchuk was appointed mayor of the city of Nadym and the Nadym region. In 1997, he was elected to the post of head of Nadym and the Nadym region. In 2001 and 2005 he was re-elected as the head of the municipality.

It should be noted that with the transfer of Kovalchuk to the Ural Federal District, the position of the CFI remains vacant in two regions at once - in Yugra, where the post has been empty since last year, and, accordingly, in Yamal.
