  1. History of the use of medicinal plants.

As you know, the healing properties of plants have been known to man since ancient times. Getting food for himself, primitive man practically learned the properties of individual plants. The healing properties of certain plants were often reported by animals that instinctively found plants for their health. It has been established that among the remains of clay products, archaeologists find special dishes in which medicinal herbs were ground and boiled. Some information about medicinal plants is found on the first written sources - clay tablets found in Assyria, with an indication of which diseases and in what form they should be used.Since ancient times, healing has been a sacrament, so healers chose their students very meticulously. The collection, manufacture of medicines and treatment were accompanied by magical techniques and spells. Already an outstanding ancient Greek physician and thinker Hippocrates described 236 plants that were used in medicine of that time. Among them are henbane, elderberry, mint, almonds and others.

Hippocrates believed that biologically active, organic and mineral substances are optimally combined in the juices of medicinal plants. Therefore, he recommended the use of plants in the form in which nature created them.

In ancient Russia, much attention was paid to the use of medicinal plants. Only women had the right to practice medicine in Russia. With the formation of Kievan Rus, the profession of “Lechtsy” appears

Since ancient times, even kings and princes were interested in the cultivation and use of medicinal plants. At the beginning of the 17th century, under Alexei Mikhailovich, the Pharmaceutical Order was created, which supplied the court and the army with herbs. By order of Peter the Great, pharmacies and the so-called pharmacy gardens were created in all major cities. (slide 5)

Much has changed since then, but interest in medicinal herbs has not faded away - on the contrary, now it is especially great. In our time, people are increasingly resorting to the help of phototherapy - treatment with medicinal plants, and folk remedies. Juices, decoctions, infusions taken orally, external lotions and rinses help the sick body cope with

many ailments, get rid of suffering.

3. Medicinal plants of our region.

The natural plant resources of the Rostov region are rich and varied. (slide 6). We found out that there are more than 90 species of medicinal plants in the Rostov region. Our village is located in the steppe zone. Medicinal herbs can be found in the steppes: valerian, thyme, St. John's wort, oregano. On the terraces of the rivers in the region, sandy massifs covered with feather grass, fescue and other plants are widespread. Among them, a valuable medicinal plant, sandy cumin, is of great interest. In the floodplain meadows, one can find elecampane, meadowsweet, marshmallow, and succession.

It is difficult to meet a person who would not have seen and did not know medicinal plants, for example, plantain, dandelion, but they know little about what diseases they help. The result of our research work will be a collected collection of medicinal herbs of our region.

Plantain (slide 7)

There are about 250 species of plantain that are found in our area. Plantain grows mainly along roads, which is why this plant got its name. One of the most effective and common folk healers. Psyllium leaves and seeds stop blood and heal wounds Psyllium leaf juice is more recommended for the treatment of patients with chronic colitis and acute gastrointestinal diseases. The drug is administered orally 1 tablespoon 3 times a day 15-20 minutes before meals. June-beginning of July is the time to collect plantain.

Dandelion . (slide 8)

Dandelion as a medicinal plant has been known since ancient times. Eyes were washed with milky juice in case of their illness. Theophrastus recommended dandelion for freckles and age spots. It is believed that the Latin name of dandelion originated from the Greek words to treat and eye disease. Medicine uses dandelion root as a medicinal raw material. Dandelion root is used in various collections for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. It is eaten. In the Rostov region, it grows like a weed plant along roads, in parks, crops, in meadows and steppe slopes everywhere.

Chamomile pharmacy (slide 9)

It was used as a medicinal plant by the doctors of ancient Greece and Rome, and was highly valued in the ancient world. Hippocrates and Dioscorides used chamomile in diseases of the liver, kidneys and headache.

St. John's wort,

As a medicinal plant, it has been known for a long time. In domestic medicine, a decoction is used - for diseases of the heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, liver diseases. Leaves - heal wounds. Hypericum preparations improve venous circulation and blood supply to some internal organs.

4. Rules for the collection, drying and storage of medicinal plants.

Many medicinal plants exist in nature. But different plants have different medicinal parts, some have flowers, such as chamomile and marigolds, others have leaves, such as nettles or strings, and others have roots, like licorice and ginseng.

Why is this happening? We learned from books that it is in these places that biologically active substances accumulate, and they also accumulate at different periods of plant development. This determines the period of its procurement. Procurement of medicinal raw materials is a responsible matter that requires knowledge and skills. You must follow the collection rule:

1. Adhere to the optimal timing of the procurement of fresh raw materials.

2. Bring the collection only in dry weather after the dew has dried.

3. Do not collect different types of raw materials in one container.

4. Leave at least 20% of unharvested plants in place for renewal

5. Collect in one place no more than once every 2 years, and perennial 1 time in 5-7 years.

6.Do not store freshly harvested plant for more than 1-2 hours

Leaves and grass are harvested during the budding period. Flowers and inflorescences in the phase of the beginning of flowering and drying are not slow or the flowers turn black. Fruits and seeds are harvested when fully ripe. Seeds are dried in air dryers, and fruits in fire dryers.

Rhizome roots are harvested in autumn or spring before the plants begin growing. They are dug up, freed from the above-ground part, washed in running water, large of them are cut lengthwise and sent for drying in fire dryers.

Drying should be done so that direct sunlight, rain or dew do not fall on the raw material, otherwise it will lose its properties.

In fire dryers observe the regime.

It is necessary to store dried raw materials in dry, clean rooms protected from direct sunlight and not infected with pests.

It is necessary to remember one very important rule: it is impossible to harvest herbs, leaves, flowers and rhizomes near enterprises, highways and railways, where there are a lot of harmful emissions. After all, plants tend to absorb and accumulate them, and, getting into the body person, they can only harm him.

5. Sociological survey

We conducted a survey among classmates. "Are there families in our class who are treated with medicinal plants."

As a result of the survey, we found out that 84% of the families of our classmates use medicinal plants for diseases.

With a sore throat - 67%; cough - 53%; kidneys - 22%

Some families shared their recipes.

Isaev family recipe.

Angina, tonsillitis, laryngitis.

3 tablespoons of honey.

To mix everything.

Lubricate the tonsils or take 1 teaspoon 3 times a day.

Recipe of the Pavlenko family.9 (for kidney disease)

Dog-rose fruit - 20 g, birch leaves - 20 g. Apply 0.3 cups of infusion 3 times a day

6. Research results.

We found out that medicinal plants are a national treasure and wealth. About half of all medicines are made from plants. 70% of cardiac preparations are made on the basis of medicinal plants. Medicinal plants grow everywhere. True, not everywhere is the same and in the same quantity. You need to know well what plants are found in our area and how many of them. Everyone must learn to seek, collect and protect the gifts of nature. Before collecting plants, it is necessary to study their biological characteristics, the method of collection, drying and storage. This will allow rational use of raw materials for therapeutic purposes. The cultivation of medicinal plants in gardens and orchards should be used more widely. Perhaps such a garden can be made on the territory of our school. Through our work, we encourage all students to take care of nature. To form your ecological culture, culture of health. After all, much depends on you and me on how we treat nature.

Since ancient times, for the treatment of ailments, people often turned for help to the green parts of plants, wild fruits, rhizomes and roots, which, in fact, were the first medicines.

But over time and due to the appearance of pills, many of the knowledge that was passed from person to person and from generation to generation began to be gradually lost. Medicinal plants in human life began to fade into the background, and a situation developed when, going from home to work and back, we, without knowing it, began to walk and trample on the ground those medicines that we really need. There he is a weed on the road, but I him!

However, despite the merits of the pharmaceutical industry, many still really appreciate the life force that plants contain. That is why so many who want to use it, despite the fact that they do not know how to do it, and have no idea what this or that medicinal plant looks like.

I think that the popularity of plants will continue to remain high, if only because of the cheapness of medicinal raw materials, the cost of which consists only in collection, drying and packaging.

In addition, over many centuries of use by different peoples, by trial and error, for each plant, its unique medicinal properties were found. So many are reassured by the thought of the complete harmlessness of the use of herbal preparations in the treatment of a particular disease. Although not in vain, almost every article on the site provides information on the situation in which the use of the plant is undesirable.

And what can we say about the use of fees from several plants, using which you should remember that sometimes no one knows exactly how your body will react to them ... Therefore, be sure to follow the given ratios of components and dosages. Yes, and it will always not be superfluous to get qualified advice from your doctor.

Continuing the theme of the pros and cons of medicinal plants in human life, it should be said that modern artificially created drugs are becoming more effective every year, and they act very quickly, which is important. But with all this, they often have a lot of negative side effects, which is why they are sometimes risky to use. What's the matter - with the centuries, the verified actions of folk remedies, which, as a rule, do not have such negative consequences.

But herbal preparations act on the body much more slowly and weakly, which is why their treatment lasts longer and requires self-confidence. But this is rather not a minus, but a plus of plants. For this and other reasons listed above, medicinal plants will not cease to play an important role in human life!

The number of medicinal plants is very large, it is in the thousands, which means that collecting on the site as many of their descriptions and proven recipes for treatment as possible is an urgent task for the administration of the portal in the near future, encouraging them to continue working. And so that visitors do not get confused, in addition to descriptions, each publication on the site is accompanied by drawings, photographs, information about the places of growth, the method of preparation and manufacture of preparations, their chemical composition, nutritional, medicinal and some other properties of plants.

So, if visitors to the site, using its materials, can find, stock up and prepare medicines on their own, this will not surprise us and we will be pleased to realize the benefits of our work.

Introduction

medicinal herbal medicine mint

The medicinal properties of medicinal plants have been known in China since ancient times. Healing herbs were also widely used by the ancient Greeks. Among the founders of scientific knowledge about medicinal herbs, Hippocrates (460-377 BC) should be mentioned first of all. Hippocrates became the author of the famous work, which summarized all the medical knowledge of the Greeks.

The use of medicinal plants in Russia, as in other countries, has a long history.

In the 16th century, medical books, herbalists, and gardens became widespread in Russia. These books are of interest to this day.

The practical value of plants in human life. The role of medicinal plants. Importance of plant resources in medicine

The importance of green plants in nature is great. Plants improve the air. They enrich it with oxygen, necessary for the respiration of all living beings, and purify it from carbon dioxide.

Plants play an important role in human life. People eat plants, their processed products, use plants as raw materials for various industries, building material, fuel.

Paper is made from wood. It is difficult to list everything that a person receives from green plants.

From wheat alone, many valuable products can be obtained.

Plants are also good raw materials for the preparation of medicines. The study and use by humans of medicinal plants in the fight against diseases has a long history.

Since time immemorial, all the peoples of the world have turned to the nature around them in search of remedies. Plants and man are connected by a common origin, development and existence in nature. Nature, which gave birth to man, generously shares with him everything that she has.

There are good words of the eighth century philosopher Abdallah-ibn-al-Mukaffa “If you want to keep your body healthy and strong, know everything that can benefit your body or harm it. “In the fight against the disease, herbal preparations are an important help, as they have a number of positive characteristics:

Low frequency of side effects;

Cheapness of raw materials;

· Softer effect on the body;

Availability, thanks to which herbal preparations are successfully used for the prevention and treatment of various diseases.

Plant active ingredients - saponins

expectorants for diseases of the respiratory tract, as well as a diuretic, restorative, stimulating and tonic, many of them have a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system, have a sedative effect and are especially effective in vascular sclerosis.

The beneficial effect of saponins in the treatment of atherosclerosis of cerebral vessels, atherosclerosis in combination with hypertension and malignant neoplasms was revealed.

In small doses, saponins are harmless, but while harmless when ingested, they are highly poisonous when injected subcutaneously and intravenously. Under the influence of saponins, erythrocytes undergo hemolysis. Aqueous solutions of saponins, when shaken, form a stable foam resembling soap.
